Great Guidance for Rejuvenating in Nature
The varied exercises Shiila Safer has included in this book provides supportive guidance to help anyone get the most from nature. Whether you want to clear your mind, tap into your creativity, find answers to niggling questions, write again, or simply become still, this book will be of practical use.

Shiila's guided meditations relax and clear mind space. The non-dominant handwriting activities bring forth an inner wisdom. Curious questions help the reader to dig a little deeper.

The overall design and aesthetic of the book create a pleasing overall experience and almost make the reader want to preserve it as a coffee table "pretty book" rather than a workbook and journal.Dan Gauthier's stunning photos and Shiila's "love poetry" add yet more dimension and substance to the interaction a reader has with the book and nature.

The only thing that would make this book better is to be able to do workshops with Shiila Safer personally. Having used her as a consultant over many years and gained the benefit of Shiila's deep insight, her personal guidance would provide "the cherry on the icing."

I can imagine many groups would benefit from Shiila's workbook, from youth groups to church groups, from women's gatherings to schools. I use it to recover from the daily grind to get back to my center of creativity, and recoup my energy.

Small book with big surprises
I enjoy spending time in nature to meditate, sketch and paint and so I purchased this book as an artist date book (part of exercises with The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.) After just the first exercise, following the Listening Meditation, and using my non-dominant hand, words begin to flow out onto the journal pages. Before I knew it I had written my first poem in many years! I had completely forgotten how much I enjoy writing poetry. I am now excited over what other creativity is waiting to emerge using the non-dominant exercises.
