Excerpt: Eleanor Callow (born August 8, 1927) is a former Canadian female left fielder who played from 1947 through 1954 for three different teams of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Callow was a switch-hitter and threw right-handed. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Women have been playing professional baseball since the early 1930s, when Chattanooga Lookouts pitcher Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig in succession, during an exhibition game against the New York Yankees in 1931. The AAGPBL was a league that began to operate in 1943 in cities located on or near Lake Michigan. The main promoter was Philip K. Wrigley, owner of the Chicago Cubs, who worried about the viability of male professional baseball players during World War II decided to establlish an alternate attraction. The league folded after the end of the 1954 season. Over the years the rules, equipment, and style of play in the league changed from softball to baseball (e.g., the size of the ball at the beginning was 12" in circumference, but at the end it was 9 1/4"). Eleven girls from Manitoba played in the league, including Callow. All of them received honorary inductions into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (1988), the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame (1998), and the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame (1998). During her career, Callow was among the most feared sluggers of the AAGPBL. A great book to start scrapbooking with.
There were many things I enjoyed about this book.It gives many clear and not cluttered examples.It is very easy to understand along with providing different uses for the basic scrapbooking supplies.The pictures were great and I would not classify this as a childrens book either.

Great Beginner Book
What I like most about this book is that it presents the basics of scrapbooking in a well-written, simplistic format. All of the essential elements that experienced adult scrappers use are introduced page-by-page on a beginner's level. There are also many lettering and die cut examples to use, as well as simple lay outs to jump start one's creativity. i would not classify this as a "kids" book, but rather a primer on the art of scrapbooking. Well written and very colorful (something kids of all ages can appreciate!).
