Product Description
Brad Denning is a successful architect living a perfect life in Denver with his loving wife and son. Or so it would be, if not for the haunting memory of his brother Petey who disappeared while under Brad's supervision when they were kids. Now, a man claiming to be his sibling has mysteriously appeared and Brad is eager to take him in, despite the man's haggard appearance and reluctance to reveal anything about his past. "Petey" is a welcome addition to the family, until a camping trip goes terribly wrong and Brad returns home to find that his devoted wife and son have been abducted. Certain that Petey-or whoever he may be- is responsible for the horrible crime, Brad sets out to recover his family. Travelling alone through America's heartland, it's a race against time as Brad struggles to get to his family before the terrible secret of what really happened long ago destroys everything he cares about. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Long Lost
This book begins with a quick tale of the disappearance of Brad Denning's brother, Petey when they were children. Fast forward to the future and Brad is a successful architect, happily married and a father to his only son. Out of the blue, after an appearance on national television, Brad is approached by someone claiming to be Petey. With details that only his brother would know, Brad accepts Petey into his life. Then Petey disappears with Brad's wife and son, and after the FBI exhausts all avenues, Brad takes it upon himself to track down Petey. Or is it Peter or a con artist? On his quest, Brad learns more and more about the abductor.

Each page kept me so involved in this story that I couldn't put the book down. I finished reading it in one afternoon. I really enjoyed this one.

3-0 out of 5 stars Actually 3 1/2 Stars Good Thriller
Brad's brother Petey was kidnapped when they were kids because of Brad's actions .Years later a stranger comes to Brad claiming to be his long lost brother. But Petey has been through some terrible things in his life and blames Brad for them. And so the thrill ride begins.

This was an edge of your seat thriller. Yes I did figure some things out before the main character did but it still made me sit on the edge of my seat waiting for Brad to figure out the mystery.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
Well I can't believe there are people that didn't like this book. I have read 4 of his books and this by far is the BEST!! I finished this book in one day. I am an avid reader and can't say that I read any other book so fast.I read reviews on here that people say "Brotherhood of the Rose" is better, but I didn't think it was nearly as good. Different Strokes for different folks I guess!! If you want a book you can't put down, then pick this one up and happy reading!!

3-0 out of 5 stars BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?
From the man who gave us Rambo comes this story of Brad Denning, thirty-something, happily married family man and architect who remains guilt ridden over the disappearance of his younger brother Petey some twenty years before.

When Brad is approached by a man claiming to be Petey he is at first skeptical, but based upon the strangers in depth knowledge of their shared childhood experiences, becomes convinced that this man is indeed his long lost brother, and brings him home to meet his wife and son .

What ensues is a shattering situation that forces Brad to abandon his career and his calm, regimented lifestyle and embark upon an investigation that requires him to call upon his "inner Rambo" with a little Indiana Jones thrown in for good measure. ("SNAKES, there had to be snakes") in order to save the day.

Not as good as some of Morrell's other books like Brotherhood of the Rose, you will probably be able to guess the outcome of this adventure, but there is enough action going on to keep you turning the pages.

4-0 out of 5 stars Fast Paced
I agree with many other reviews that this is not Morrell's best work. However, it's definitely a page turner. It kept me up well into the morning for two days. It's a simple story but sometimes that's okay. ... Read more

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Harris began his career as a child actor, and was discovered by playwright Mark Medoff at a Drama Camp in Las Cruces, New Mexico.Medoff cast him in his 1988 film Clara's Heart, a drama with Whoopi Goldberg based on the novel by Joseph Olshan, that won him a Golden Globe nomination. In 1988, he also starred in Purple People Eater, a children's fantasy. The following year, he won the lead in Doogie Howser, M.D., for which he was again nominated for a Golden Globe. After Doogie Howser's four-season run ended in 1993, Harris played a number of guest roles on television series such as Murder She Wrote, before taking his first film role as an adult in 1995 in the little-seen shocker Animal Room. Since then, his film work has included supporting roles in The Next Best Thing, Undercover Brother and Starship Troopers. In the Harold and Kumar stoner comedy films, (Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle and Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) he plays a drug-crazed, lecherous version of himself. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Playbook Scores a 3
I am about half way done with this book and I am not finding it as funny as the Bro Code was. The plays are simple at best and there is not a lot written about each play. And I am certain no one would ever try any of the plays in the book they are all very unrealistic. The bro code was written much better and you could see 2 guys going yes this is the code. I was looking so forward to reading this one but the payoff did not equal the build up.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bro! Suit up!!
How could you not love this stuff. Too funny. The HIMYM writers are great. Love the show. Love the books. Barney is great. Ted is a tool. See if you can find this at like half price books or something. I know it's really cheap already but still... It's such a fast funny read you can easily read the entire thing in the bathroom in one morning. Borrow it from a Bro.

4-0 out of 5 stars Do Not Try This At Home
This is basically a spoof version of pickup artists' routines manuals such as The Art of the Approach and Rules of the Game, and as such should be considered more of a companion piece to the show than an actual how-to guide because it demonstrates the absurd lengths Barney will go to for his next conquest. While I'm certain you can pull off The Fireman in the real world because I've been mistaken for one at least twice just by wearing a Boston Fire duty T-shirt I got online, there's no way you're going to find a girl so stupid that she'll fall for The Olympian's lock-in prop of an aluminum foil-wrapped oatmeal raisin cookie posing as an Olympic silver medal.

5-0 out of 5 stars Suit Up!
This is a hilarious read, another gem from the 'How I Met Your Mother' series. The "plays" Barney Stinson uses to pick up women would not work on a girl with half a brain in real life, but nevertheless, it's fun to think about trying to pull off some of these moves on girls. You take it for what it is-- a great extension of a great episode of the show. The ones featured on the show are there: "The Mrs. Stinsfire", "The My Penis Grants Wishes", "The Cheap Trick", "The Scuba Diver", "The He's Not Coming", "The Snasa", "The Don't Drink That!", "The Ted Mosby", "The Scuba Diver", and among others, my personal favorite, "The Lorenzo Von Matterhorn."

There are exactly 76 plays broken down into sections from the basic to the advanced. Each play has its own fact sheet. You're given a success rate, what type of woman the play attracts, the requirements to perform the play, the prep time, and the "bummers", which is a way of saying "but here's the catch."
From there, the play is broken down into steps. The rest is self-explanatory.
I won't explain any of the new plays in detail, but I'll give you a couple play names so as to build a little intrigue:
- "The Little Orphan Barney"
- "The Ghost"
- "The Mannequin"
- "The Confused Inheritor"
- "The Ballet Defector"
- "The Vampire"
- "The I Can Land This Plane"
- "The Trojan Lesbian"
- "The Ghost Of Christmas Future"

It carries much of the same type of humor as 'The Bro Code.' It follows common stereotype assumptions of men and women, leaves little remarks, anecdotes and/or tips at the end of some plays (and in between) and extensively uses sarcasm to make very obvious points. If you're a fan of 'The Bro Code', I highly recommend picking this up. It's creative and smart and I doubt would be offensive or repulsive in any way to anyone. As a matter of fact, I think it appeals just as much to women as it does men, especially those women who have been the target of some ridiculous pick-up scheme (I'm guessing that's somewhere in the range of most to all). After all, they're the "victims" in this, so to speak. Might as well make light of it.

Like the show, 'The Playbook' is well thought out, well executed, and well... just plain quirky. Hopefully it wins your praise as well.

Note: The episode this book is based on is called 'The Playbook.' It's episode 8 of Season 5 and the 96th of the series.

Grade: A+

5-0 out of 5 stars Awesome
I bought this book for a birthday gift and the person loved it. The condition of the book was in good shape!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bro Code
Everyone heard the "Bros before Ho'es", now you have the rest of them as well. I actually listened to the Audio Book first and then decided to have a written copy of the rules, so I can quote them correctly! The book is printed in a way to look like an old document, (font and paper), so you can pretend you are read the 'Federalist Papers'! Also, even if you don't know who Barney is, you can still enjoy the book, it's that fun

5-0 out of 5 stars The Bro Code
Great. I hear Barney's voice whenever I read it. Good for fans of the show. Has a "Code" about something that every guy can relate to.

2-0 out of 5 stars Trying too hard
I'll admit straight out that my review of The Bro Code is a little biased: first, because I'm not a fan of the show and I've never once found myself laughing at any of the jokes. Second, because of several people in real life who quote this among each other regularly and shout at each other when they "break the Bro Code." I'll add as a side note that most of these people have never even seen a single episode of How I Met Your Mother. They're kind of like the same crowd of people who don't realize L. Ron Hubbard founded a religion on a bet. What scientologists are to religion, these people are to the frat boy "bro" culture.
This book is in the humor section for a reason. I'm not sure what "humor" means to most people, but to me it means something that was made for laughs, and in all likelihood not meant to be taken seriously.
Yet people do, and it gets worse when they try to enforce the "Bros don't sing along in a bar" rule among others and then flip out when people don't. Basically, while this book could have been left to sit on the shelf and from time to time be picked up by hardcore HIMYM fans, it has instead fallen into the hands of people who are determined to base their entire social lives on the words of a fictional character.
Something about this just seems extremely pathetic.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Quick Read
If you watch How I Met Your Mother, this book will make the show much more emjoyable. Great Quick read, funny, sometimes real. ... Read more
