Product Description
An old feud between the two largest ranchers in the vast Teton range, the KT and the Double B, has erupted again. The feud is complicated by the presence of Bianco, the most feared rustler in the south. A strange rider appears who is reluctant to give his name but seems inclined toward the KT in the range feud, but his motives remain obscure. This is a major novel about the Montana cattle ranges and is a fascinating story filled with excitement, action, and mystery.

In Horton's Western stories, it is the characters that drive the plots rather than the other way around. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Definitely a keeper
The Hanging X is just a good rousing read! After having read everything written by Louis L'Amour and Max Brand (and all Brand's pseudonyms), I was looking for something comparable though I hate to "try out" a new author.Horton has not disappointed me.Gail Landon, whose mother married a man who could not accept the son of her firat husband, leaves home at 16 at his stepfather's urging. Gail is too feisty to settle down to the demands of ranching and seeks adventure, falling in with an outlaw bunch that robs a bank cum saloon. He receives word that both parents were killed in a wagon accident, leaving him the ranch, and he gladly leaves the outlaw trail to go home. There he has the assistance of the sheriff, the town banker, and the town lawyer and Gail needs all the help he can get because both his past on the ranch and his past on the outlaw trail are coming back to haunt him with a vengeance.Throw in a rustling-on-the-side ranch foreman who thinks Gail is still too wet behind the ears to manage a ranch, an outlaw bent on blackmail, and some crew members who may be untrustworthy, and Gail has enough to keep him awake nights. Then he renews acquaintance with Doris, a childhood friend from the adjacent ranch for whom the adult Gail discovers an attraction, and Gail has so much on his plate that it starts to fall off the edges. This is a very good read and one you will find hard to put down once you start.Begin on a Friday and plan for an allnighter . . . it's that good! And Horton maintains the action-filled suspense down to the last couple of pages.Don't miss this one. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Great Study Help
These map sheets seem to be very sturdy. The information is well laid out and it is easy to locate a particular site.I have found them very helpful and would recommend them for anyone who wants a better idea of how the maps of New Testament times relate to the maps of today.

2-0 out of 5 stars Review of the Kindle Version
While I would give the book itself (which I also own) 4 stars, I can only give the kindle version 2.The book itself is a good solid survey of the New Testament. It contains many beautiful charts, pictures, and maps. The introductory material about the social, religious, and historical background of the New Testament is almost worth the purchase price alone. The chapters on the books of the Bible were of uneven quality. Some were amazingly deep and of high quality.Others were surprisingly shallow.

The reason that the kindle version gets only two stars is that although the text is there, the charts, maps and pictures are tiny and there is no way to make them larger. In fact, the charts, which are definitely one of the highlights of the book, are unreadable they are so tiny.In addition, the captions of the pictures are too small to read.Perhaps I'm just not smart enough to figure out how to make them larger (neither making the page full screen nor changing the font size has any effect on the pictures). Like I said, I also own the book and only bought the kindle version because the book is too heavy to tote around the globe with me.

I'm not sure who is responsible for producing the kindle version of the book, but it's pretty disappointing.

5-0 out of 5 stars survey of the new testament 4th edition
it is a great book and it was like new when I got it thank you

4-0 out of 5 stars Good but lacks things
This study guide is definitely good, but it lacks things. It would be nice if the author would've provided the definitions of a lot of key terms and places. This guide also lacks a lot of dates which are in the textbook. Although, it does sum up each chapter of the textbook really well, it needs a lot more in it. Buy it if you wish, but you will be disappointed because of the lack of detail.

1-0 out of 5 stars Never received item, requesting Full Refund!
Amazon Staff:

This product never made it to my home.My account was debited for $33.98 for the purchase of a product I never received. In e-mailing the seller, 501646, she claims to never have received a purchase request nor the money for the book A Survey of the New Testament. She also claims that this book is not listed in her inventory.I am not sure what the mix up was with Amazon and her, but my account was debited and I NEVER received the item.I am requesting a full refund for the purchase I made.I was forced to purchase the same book from another seller two weeks after my purchase with 501646. I have been a customer of Amazon since 2003, under a different name, but I have relied on them for my college textbooks.I would greatly appreciate if this situation did not hinder my future purchases from Amazon. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and taking the time to evalute my claim.

4-0 out of 5 stars Mathematics in the work shop
Excellent book for the person that does a lot of do it yourself work. Can also be used by the person who enjoys mathematical relationships between objects.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good for review of mechanics and basic math
The title of this book might be misleading. "Mathematics at Work" would lead you to believe it is about applied mathematics. Instead, it is more about the math needed to solve certain basic mechanics problems. The math reviewed at the beginning of the book is simple arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. From that point forward the book is about briefly describing various problems in mechanics and how the mathematics described at the beginning of the book is used to solve these problems. I wouldn't recommend the book for students. If you are studying mechanics in either engineering physics or statics class, the math reviewed will be something you have a very recent handle on, thus the book won't help much. However, if you are already a practicing engineer and need to review either mechanics or math through trigonometry, it might help. You will have already studied both of these subjects, but you might need a refresher. The book is well illustrated with plenty of clear examples. There is very little mentioned in the way of calculus or problems that require it, thus the mechanics problems covered here are not very advanced.

3-0 out of 5 stars Ok for beginners
I found this book interesting, but no more than that.
If have lack of experience and don't know basic procedures, you will find it able to solve your problems.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great reference!
I went hunting for a book that had all or a good amount of the mathematical formulas/procedures explained in an easy to understand format. This is the book.I needed to brush up on my math from basics to calculusand this book has made the task easy. It's the type of book I would keepnext to the encyclopedias in my library but I carry it with me every whereI go.An electronic version of this reference would be a nice addition. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Soil Physics by Jury
This is a fairly turse coverage of soil physics that underly hydrology in both saturated and vadose zones. This is not the easiest read available, yet I and many at the U of M trust it as a good reference as we use hydrologic models. The presented theoretical framework extends to transport of chemicals that partition among liquid, gas, and sorbed states in which decay rates and mobility differ. Many books don't.

If you want applied real world situations to illustrate the utility of these concepts or an expensive reference of coefficient values this book will not serve.Aside from typos in 1 or 2 equations, this book has been accurate. My course of study did not get beyond chapter six. ... Read more

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Robert Horton (born Meade Howard Horton Jr. on July 29, 1924 in Los Angeles, California) is an American television actor, who was most noted for the role of Flint McCullough in the TV series Wagon Train (1957 - 1962). When Horton quit that series, he wanted to pursue a successful career in musical theatre, hence, he wasn't being replaced by a breakout star, Robert Fuller (who shares the same birthday with Horton, who in turn bears a slight resemblance to him, but is 9 yrs. Horton's junior) according to a 2009 interview with On Screen And Beyond, with Fuller. According to an item in the 4-20-1959 issue of Time magazine, Horton's measurements were 42-31-40. Horton also played Ronald Reagan's role in the TV version of Kings Row (1955), which featured Jack Kelly and ran for seven episodes as part of the Warner Bros. Presents series, rotating with a TV version of Casablanca and a western series called Cheyenne. ... Read more
