Always Learning
I am basically a newcomer to watching bollywood movies/hindi movies. I find that I enjoy them and they have opened my eyes and my mindto various subject matter as well as entertain concerning the Indian culture and the people.The Movie I purchased "Deewangee" was far better than I expected. I truly did not know what to expect.My personal opinion for the bollywood/hindi movies I have seen at the start up it is fun, colorful and always a musical production and then the movies turns in a completely different/unexepected direction.. Ithink this is what captures me with Indian movies per se. I happen to like the actor Ajay Devgan among some others suoper well know actors/actresses.It is something extra that I see in Ajay Devgan butwhen he plays a dark character for me truly shows how well he emerses himself in his craft. I have invested in quite a number ofmovies for my personal collection.

Great Movie.
I am not here to tell the plot of movie,just wanted to say that this kind of bollywood film's are the best. I miss how they use to make the movie's in this type of way. The new one's are a bit to western type now. If I wanted hollywood then I would just watch one and not look for it in hindi. This movie the way its told is why I love Bollywood in the 90's to about 2004. After that bollywood has changed much. Two thumbs up for Salaam - e - ishq
This is a very enjoyable and well made film.A really great cast and several different storylines make the 3 + hours go by quickly.The music is wonderful, too.

Smart, funny, and expertly crafted, this modern masala weaves together six love stories. Each is stylistically distinct and focuses on a different challenge that couples face. The happily married Ashutosh (played by John Abraham) and Tehzeeb (Vidya Balan) overcome family disapproval because of their religious differences but then face an even greater test when tragedy befalls them. Middle-age couple Vinay (Anil Kapoor) and Seema (Juhi Chawla) grapple with boredom and infidelity. Shiven (Akshaye Khanna) gets cold feet before his wedding to Gia (Ayesha Takia). Taxi driver Raju (Govinda) falls in love with an American woman (Shannon Esra) while helping her find the Indian lover who dumped her. Newlyweds Ram (Sohail Khan) and Phoolwati (Isha Koppikar) have a hilariously difficult time trying to consummate their marriage. Muy entretenida!
Me gustan mucho las películas de la India y en especial esta ya que tiene mucho trama y va de la comedia al drama en corto tiempo. A pesar de ser muy larga no es nada aburrida y las canciones son estupendas. En lo personal también tengo el CD de la película.

La película trata de la vida de 6 parejas que, sin saberlo, sus vidas se entrecruzan dando lugar a momentos críticos en sus relaciones como a situaciones cómicas.

Entertaining romance/thriller (even if plot pinched) with nice twists; well executed
I gather the plot of this one was 'inspired by' (pinched from)'Dot the I' but transferred geographically to Dubai. It is about a girl (Urvashi Sharma) engaged to a multimillionaire (Bobby Deol) when a guy (Akshaye Khanna) connects with her at an engagement celebration she has with friends. Guy pursues her a bit and she eventually relents and falls for him. He makes phone calls to someone unknown that suggests this wasn't an accidental meet and there is a set-up somehow. Often people seem to be recording what is happening on hand-held cameras - what is that about? I cant say more without ruining it. However there are lots of satisfying twists (some predictable but fun to go with).
Although the cover says it is the 'most shocking thriller of the year' (2007), it isn't. It has the most minimal violence and a little tension, but the 'shocks' are the sudden turns of events I guess. btw In India several reviewers called this plot 'ridiculous rather than shocking'!
WE have the same leads that I enjoyed in thriller 'Humraaz' which was excellent and recommended. As in that movie things aren't clear as even the goodies can have a dark side, and events turn in a moment.
Akshaye, Bobby and newcomer Urvashi are all really good. Once or twice I though Bobby was overdoing it but then found it was intentional to the plot.
There is a decent soundtrack and a couple of dances but appropriate to the plot (i.e. a professional dance troupe and a nightclub).
Elsewhere on the Net it has got mixed results. Some Indian sites I checked had it below average. On IMDb it was sitting at 5.5 out of 10. However some age groups gave it much higherand many women rated this much higher. I enjoyed this one and it is a keeper. ... Read more
