An Action Rhyme Book About Joshua

Echoes from Death to Life
The title "March, before Spring" and the title poem itself (placed nearly at the midpoint) echo softly in my mind and heart as I read--and read again and again--the poems in this book:delicate and powerful, moving from a husband's relentless illness to the experience of death and beyond, all in deceptively simple, straightforward language that magically evokes the ineffable quality of love.

An Exceptional Book
A second printing for a poetry book is always something to celebrate, and especially this book. March, Before Spring has touched many people since it was first published. The letters sharing the common feelings that people experience upon discovering terminal disease and the death of a loved one, have encouraged the author to make the book available to hospice groups working with individuals to help them through their grieving. When Stephanie Mendel reads from this book, people listen. Anyone who has cared for a loved one in their dying or who has known someone who has, will want to have quiet moments with March, Before Spring. They will hear their hearts speaking deeply.

Poems of love, grief and healing
Ms. Mendel's poems are stunning.She balances love and grief on the small details of ordinary life: an old shirt, the crumbs left on the counter, the dent left in a pillow. They speak softly but can tear your heart as the poems recall her husband, their love, his death from cancer and her struggle through grief. My first reading left me in tears; each subsequent reading shows me more of Ms. Mendel's power to give voice to near-overwhelming grief and what it takes to overcome such a loss. I am a physician and I prescribe copies to patients coping with the loss of a beloved. The local Hospice organization keeps copies in their library.The poems carry great healing power as well as beauty.

Women of the Long March
I read this book for a project in history class, I found it really interesting.Its about 3 womens life during the 1930s.What these women went through during that time is what we can say tragic, but to them nothing was more important their country.He Zizhen was the main character or this book. She was the second wife of Mao Tse Tung, she gave birth to 2 babies during the Long March, but she had to leave them behind because of the harsh condition that the have to walk through, it was impossible for the baby to survive.Kang Keqing was one of the girl commander of the group, because she always acted like she had all the energy even though she was tired and sick. She is very helpful around both men or women because she thinks she should set a good role model since she was the wife of the commander in chief. Wang Quanyuan, who is just a normal peasant, left her husband to join the Communist party, and she was the organizer of their group. Even though many women have risked their lives for the Communist party, men still holds some of the attitude that there is not equality between men and women.This is a great book on how the Communist group went and how women were treated at that period of time. ... A fantastically decorated, charming volume.
This pint-sized book about the Aries birth sign exceptionally covers in a concise, informative and very pleasurable to read style, all the basic information any astrology follower would enjoy having around in a single, beautifully illustrated, compact volume, more than suited to be carried around everywhere.
In merely eighty pages, it offers a fascinating look at many of the qualities and traits of the Aries personality as studied by astrology and their relationship to almost every aspect of daily life, including:

Cute, but don't take it too seriously.
I'm a sucker for anything miniature. So even though I've never put a whole lot of stock in astrology, I couldn't resist picking up one of these little 2 x 2 1/4 inch books just for kicks. It's incredibly cute, and beautifully illustrated. It begins with a brief introduction to the history of astrology, followed by descriptions of Aries' personality, associated symbols, physical and mental features, home and family life, career tendencies, and common liesure activities. The second half of the book is devoted to love life, and provides an analysis of Aries' compatibility with each other sign (and with other Arians). However, at least 75% of what the book said was wildly innaccurate in regards to myself, and the rest was so vaguely worded that it could be applied to just about anyone. But it's inexpensive, and it's tiny, and it's cute, so it still makes a nice, light-hearted gift for yourself or a friend.

One of a Kind
Although this book is miniature it is packed with information about your sun-sign. The feature of this book I enjoyed most was that it paired your sign with each of the other eleven signs (including itself; Aries and Aries). For example Aries and Leo. It then described the chances of a relationship between the two. Another feature I enjoyed was the different chapters about Aries. Perfect Targe-A perfect match for me!
Wow!This is a great book!Ms. Newton has turned into one of my favorite new authors which I'm always looking for.I like authors that know how to match romance and suspense in a nice package.Ms. Newton has that gift.This was my first read by her and I simply loved it enough to get the rest of the series.The characters are strong, the men romantic and yummy, but the suspense is terrific.Don't pass up this author!

GREAT Debut Novel...
Stephanie Newton's "Perfect Target" was one that I could not put downfrom the first page to the last.She had me wondering who was responsible for stalking Bayley and for the murders that were going on in Sea Breeze.I loved the characters of Bayley, Cruse and his sister Sailor.They were very much alive in the story.The relationship between Cruse and Bayley felt very natural, not rushed.

I highly recommend this book.If you like Dee Henderson you would love this.I look forward to her next book "Moving Target".Great Job Stephanie! ... Read more
