5-0 out of 5 stars Exciting
This is an excellent story and a very interesting read.I was barely able to put to put it down as I read. There is something exciting or mysterious going on all the time, to where you are continually curious about what is going to happen next.It is also fun to think about what I would do if that were me and if the scenario were in fact possible! I highly recommend ordering it to read!

5-0 out of 5 stars Exciting Romance
I loved this book.It moves along well and is suspenseful and romantic. The ending is rather abrupt, but the 'born again' experience is that way in life too, so it seemed realistic to me. I could identify with the heroine, and it made me wonder what my choices would have been.

1-0 out of 5 stars rpirolo@nyc.rr.com
The story proceeds at a steady pace until the end where everything jumps together and a life-long decision is made by the heroine in the span of a few pages.Throughout the book she is married to a religious fanatic, while she is anti-religous, complete opposites. Can she in one moment forget one of her lives that she has lived for years, not to mention the people involved? It ends too abruptly and there is too much of, what I perceive to be, the author's religious background. The husband, apparently, became very successful by praying. That is even a more far-fetched premise than the fantasy purported in this book. I am a Christian believer but I felt manipulated by this story.Don't bother! ... Read more

Product Description
Established in 1713 by Puritans, Lexington entered the history books as the Birthplace of American Liberty one April morning in 1775, but the town's history did not begin or end with that event. Though primarily agrarian, early-nineteenth-century Lexington contained twelve taverns, a large fur industry, and other manufacturing businesses. The twentieth century brought a streetcar system with Lexington Park, replete with a zoo and a theater, at its terminus. With the construction of Route 128, Lexington's population rapidly increased and the farm era faded, changing the shape of the community. Through fascinating vintage images, Lexington traces the town's life as it transformed from a provincial farming village to an attractive suburb of Boston. Within these pages, you will visit Massachusetts House and Russell House, where wealthy Bostonians enjoyed summering in the town's good air after the Civil War; beautiful estates, including the Hayes Castle, that dotted the town's hills once the railroad to Boston became a reality for commuters; and the Lexington station, the last remaining depot train shed in Massachusetts, which stood at the foot of Meriam Hill. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Have!!Outstanding!
Incredible account of the history of one of America's most historic towns.Beautifully written and informative.Captions are especially well-written, particularly the portions on education and organizations.

I purchased and read this book because I hoped to brush up on my knowledge of American history. However, I learned much more than that, and recommend this as an irreplaceable supplement to any study of the history of the United States of America.

This book captures the essence of a small town's famous place in history.

This is a definite A+, 10 out of 10, and I highly recommend it to all professors and instructors as an addition to a curriculum. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Great little book
This is a terrific, easy read. Inspiring chapters written by different people give practical ways to stand up and make a difference in the world. Perfect for small groups, discussions, or individuals. You won't be disappointed!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great book for anyone interested in social justice
The Revolution is a great book for researching social justice movements and organizations. I've used the book for speeches, reports, and in when looking to do volunteer work. This book is an excellent read, I definitely recommend it for anyone interested in helping change current social problems for the good.

1-0 out of 5 stars One sided and poorly written
This book covers a number of topics that evangelical Christians *do* need to educate themselves on, such as the AIDs crisis, gang warfare and the environment. The first few chapters of this book cover subject matter that most Christians - and non-Christians for that matter - will find broad agreement on. However, as you progress through the book, the leftist agenda becomes so obvious that you begin to question the book's objectivity. For instance, the chapter on the death penalty is written by a strident death penalty opponent who consistently applies straw man arguments. The chapter called "War and Peace" is a disaster. By this point, the reader will not be the least bit surprised to find that another left wing activist and pacifist writes this chapter. If you're looking for a good intellectual analysis of the Just War doctrine or acknowledgement that good Christians can come to to different conclusions about this topic, you will not find it in this chapter, either.
Clearly, this book was written with an agenda. But I'm not sure how much this actually advances the agenda of turning a moderate or conservative evangelical towards the progressive world view, because so many of the arguments are simply not that compelling or balanced.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great enthusiasm, not very practical
I'm all about the idea of "Let's change the world."I speak about that message incessantly. My audiences get tired of hearing me utter those words I suspect. But as communicators it is our job to provide practical, doable, ways that can be immediately walked out ways of doing what we are calling people to.

Absolutely love the attitude behind the editor and various writers of each chapter of this book and the bottom line of the book, which essentially calls people to live radically differently. The only problem is - with a couple of exceptions - in order to carry out the ideas taken on in each chapter one would have to fly to another part of the world to put the action plan into practice or have an enormous amount of money to commence with the change.Considering the reading audience (Relevant readers) I suspect most will be frustrated when it comes to applying the ideas here.

Mother Teresa said of the US, "There is plenty to do right around you... don't fly to Calcutta.Open your eyes and get to work!"

Read this book and allow your heart to be captured by the zeal of each author, then get to work in your own backyard / city.Yes, we can change the world right here, right now.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great manual
This was a great read.Easy to follow, great stories from experienced servants in social justice issues.Chapters are short and to the point. You read it and feel more equipped with what to do. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An inspirational read.
I picked up this title because I liked what the author had produced with Chaos Reborn: Volume I of the Chaos Chronicles. At first I thought it was an expansion on a character from that book but found this is completely unrelated.Despite that fact, this was an enjoyable read. The Crownless King is is the story of how a king rose to power. We see him as a young boy, a sawmill brat and he learns early on of loss and the ways of the world.Through his life's journey he remains true to himself and what he holds dear.A central theme of the story is to hold to your integrity and not to simply follow. One act can cause an untold cascade. The author's note was also inspirational and brought a deeper meaning to the story bringing up events from the author's life that had given rise to the tale.I highly reccomend this book for those looking for an uplifting message. ... Product Description

The American West has had an enormous influence on the nation's imagination, including its fine art. From the Western Realists—as epitomized by the Cowboy Artists of America's mission to produce "authentic representations of life in the West"—to the Western Modernists—who introduced not only modern visual languages but a range of political and ethnic perspectives—Cowboys, Indians, and the Big Picture brings together a range of images to present a more complex picture of the American West. Section one surveys art from the collection of John McMullen's collection of accomplished Western Realists; section two presents new images of cowboys to investigate the mythology that has developed around them. Section three features work by Native American artists who seek to express their version of the history of western settlement and to articulate the complexities of living in two postmodern cultures, and the final portion of the catalog presents a changed western landscape, bearing layers of social and environmental history. In presenting this body of work, the exhibition presents many Wests, offering an alternative to the debate about which images and styles represent the American West as it was—and is in the present day.

Product Description
When the contest doors opened writers everywhere were challenged to write epic flash fiction stories. But we threw in a twist: each story had to tell the tale ofa creature which haunted the night; lurked in the shadows; or hid in dark places.Writers from all over the USA, UK and Canada met the challenge and from the submissions received fourteen authors were selected; some with already established writing careers, others now breaking out for the first time.Within, you will find an eclectic collection of flash fiction stories covering everything from the horrific to the humorous. There are real gems here-all waiting to scare you, thrill you, and make you laugh. Perhaps they'll even make you wonder about what's really going on out there while you're asleep. There is more here than you've bargained for-and you'll think twice before extinguishing your lights tonight. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Congrats authors.
I am impressed with each author listed here. Not only did they write an entertaining story, they managed to complete it in such a short order.I would think that flash fiction would be one of the more difficult ways to write.I can't wait to read more.

While all were good I will point out that I especially enjoyed Foxhunt, Eternal Moonless Night, and Weapons of Mass Destruction.

3-0 out of 5 stars A Great Collection of Horror
This is a mixed collection of well written horror stories, some with hints of gore, some a smattering of science fiction, and still others contain bits of humor. What's truly fun about this collection is that not all of the authors have been published before, so it's giving new writers a chance showcase their works in an otherwise "hard to break in", horror market. Who knows, the next Stephen King may be lurking amongst these creepy pages. ... Read more
