If you have freckles, you can try these things:

1) Make them go away. Unless scrubbing doesn't work.

2) Cover them up. Unless your mom yells at you for using a marker.

3) Disappear.

Um, where'd you go?
Oh, there you are.

There's one other thing you can do:

4) LIVE WITH THEM!

Because after all, the things that make you different also make you YOU.

5-0 out of 5 stars Freckleface Strawberry ~ red hair
Was a birthday gift for a Beautiful 6 year old.She has freckles and beautiful red hair. She loves the book very much and realizes how special she is.
Her mother as well felt it was a good book for those with red hair and freckles:)

5-0 out of 5 stars Instant Favorite for my daughter!
My daughter loves the Freckleface Strawberry books! They are big, so she can hold them and turn the pages herself (she is 15 mths) but are brightly colored and have entertaining stories. She always reaches for it when I ask her which book she wants to read. Highly recommend for anyone with little girls!

5-0 out of 5 stars Mother of a Freckleface Strawberry
As a mother of very spunky, wonderful children with BEAUTIFUL red hair and freckles I wanted to make sure they appreciate what they were born with. I wanted my children to embrace ALL of the qualities that make them different from everyone else. This book is a good example of how being different can be both a blessing and a curse and how you can turn a curse into a blessing. I really appreciate Ms. Moore for sharing this with everyone and helping children try to look positively about themselves especially in a society that is so critical of each other. I am very proud of my strawberries and I'm super happy to have found a book that celebrates them. :) We love these books and can't wait for more to come out (hint hint to Ms. Moore. LOL). My lovely daughter begs me to read them all the time. A really good friend recommended this book to me and I can't thank her enough. What a fantastic book!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally exceeded expectations
Totally exceeded expectations, can read it over and over and over, this is a great book, very nice, lots of fun, looking forward to more in this series.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great Book!
My daughter just loves this book. We first saw it at Pottery Barn kids but it was $20 there so we decided to check out amazon for a much better deal. My daughter will be 4 in a couple of weeks and loves to hear me read the story of Freckleface, and will remember as much of it as she can to "read" back to me. Its got a great moral to love and appreciate the person you are, and that differences make us unique~ Defnitely recommended for young readers as young as 3- to elementary aged kids as well! ... Product Description

Freckleface Strawberry loves the Early Bird program at school because it means extra time on the playground–except when it rains. Rain means indoor playtime...and facing the school bully Windy Pants Patrick in a bruising game of dodgeball. Ignoring him seems the safest thing, but what's our freckled heroine to do when she's forced to confront the bully alone? Beat him at his own game, of course. A funny, inspiring story about an all-too-common problem that kids, parents, and teachers will easily relate to.

Freckleface Strawberry loves the Early Bird program at school because it means extra time on the playground--except when it rains. Rain means indoor playtime...and facing the school bully Windy Pants Patrick in a bruising game of dodgeball. Ignoring him seems the safest thing, but what's our freckled heroine to do when she's forced to confront the bully alone? Beat him at his own game, of course. Julianne Moore's follow-up to Freckelface Strawberry is a funny, inspiring story about an all-too-common problem that kids, parents, and teachers will easily relate to.

Questions for Julianne Moore

Question: Freckleface Strawberry and the Dodgeball Bully is your second picture book. How does itfeel to be a published author?

Julianne More: It feels wonderful to be a published author. I consider myself first and foremost a reader--I grew up loving books more than anything else in my life. I moved a lot, and bookswere my most steady companions and greatest influence. As a result, I feel pleased andhonored to be included in a world that is so meaningful to me.

Question: In your first book, Freckleface Strawberry learned to accept and celebrate her freckles; inyour new book, she meets a bully on the playground and learns how to confront him andremain true to herself at the same time. Why do you feel these are important topics toaddress?

Julianne More: It was important to me that I create a character who was very much a real child, with areal child’s fears and feelings and sense of herself as an individual in the world. So itis not so much that I see Freckleface Strawberry as a character who is dealing withimportant "issues," I see her as dealing with the very real problem of definingherself in relation to the rest of the world--which, of course, is what we all do aswe grow up!

Question: You have a wonderful way of infusing your text with humor. Was thatintentional?

Julianne More: Gosh, I hope it is funny. I think life is funny, and children are hysterical. I lovehow literal they are, and how imaginative. Just the idea that children believethat they can make themselves disappear or become a scary monster or convincesomeone that they are a grown-up when they are clearly just four years old--all ofthat is so funny to me. I don’t want to be unfair to children about the seriousness oftheir experience, but sometimes it is the distance from the story that makes it funny.Events that feel tragic can take on a comic cast with some distance--even for a child.

Question: What inspired you to create the character Freckleface Strawberry?

Julianne More: Freckleface Strawberry was a childhood nickname of mine. It was a name based on mycopious amounts of freckles and long red hair. I found the name tragic and humiliatingat the time--but with some distance (see above) it has become wildly amusing. So reallythese stories are based on my own childhood experiences and a sense of being at thecenter of my own drama--with a little of my kids' drama thrown in!

Question: What was your favorite thing to do when you were Freckleface's age?

Julianne More: When I was seven, all I wanted to do was ride my bike. It was a purple Huffy, with abanana seat and butterfly handlebars. I rode it everywhere. That, and read.

Question: You have two young children. What role do books and reading play in their lives?

Julianne More: My children have always been read to, and now my older child reads on his own as well. The stories they love reflect so much about them--my son loves books about sports andfunny mystery books; my daughter loves a story where a child has a problem and thensolves it!

Question: Were you an avid reader as a child? What's your first reading memory?

Julianne More: I loved to read as a child. We moved a lot and reading was something I could always takewith me. The first sentence I ever read was in a kid's science book that I read with mymother, and the sentence was, "Mother, Mother," said Bob, "I see a robin."

Question: What writers have influenced you?

Julianne More: In terms of children’s books, I love William Steig, Mo Willems, Kevin Henkes, LauraIngalls Wilder, and Louisa May Alcott--they write books that don’t condescend to thechild and that acknowledge their sense of humor. There really are so many great writers--Maurice Sendak, Theodor Geisel, Margaret Wise Brown, and on and on and on...

Question: How has the process of writing for young readers differed from how you prepare for a filmrole? What are the similarities?

Julianne More: I found that in writing the book, it was very important for me to locate the voice of thecharacter--not unlike the way I work as an actor--and once I found the voice, it was easierfor me to write it.

Question: What did you enjoy the most about the process of creating a picture book? The least?

Julianne More: I think I liked coming up with the character the best, and so far I haven’t dislikedanything--it’s all been a lot of fun.

Question: What is your motto?

Julianne More: Perseverance is more important than you think!

Question: What’s your favorite kind of pie?

Julianne More: My favorite kind of pie is lemon meringue--or cherry--I can’t decide.

5-0 out of 5 stars Receives LeUyen Pham's fine drawings
Julianne Moore's FRECKLEFACE STRAWBERRY AND THE DODGEBALL BULLY receives LeUyen Pham's fine drawings as it tells of a girl who loves going to Early Bird at her school - with its time for play fun. But when it rains there's indoor play and dodgeball - which is scary and NOT fun at all - not when it's in the hands of a bully. How can she outwit a bully? ... Read more

Product Description
The restaurant Indochine has gone from trendsetting pioneer in the mid-1980s to established scene-maker in the 1990s, to the iconic status it holds today. With spectacular images presented by some of the most renowned photographers, celebrities, and writers, Indochine celebrates twenty-five years of being an important legacy in New York’s downtown social swirl, where celebrities rub elbows with downtown hipsters, uptown moguls mix with East Village club kids, and fashion designers with artists and gallery owners.Vintage photographs from the 1980s and ’90s are mixed with contemporary collages and Polaroids taken during Indochine’s most notorious private parties. Stories by Salman Rushdie, Moby, Julianne Moore, and Bob Colacello are combined with photographs by Patrick McMullan, Roxanne Lowit, and Patrick Demarchelier, along with artworks by Francesco Clemente, Helmut Lang, Tom Sachs, Ruben Toledo, Narciso Rodriguez, Ross Bleckner, and Julian Schnabel, among many more. ... 3-0 out of 5 stars Not a Cookbook, more of an Artbook
Indonchine is an amazing NY restaurant.I was hoping this was more of a cookbook, and/or theory-behind-the-restaurant book, but sadly it is not. It's a picture book, with not so great pictures in haphazardly organized fashion. More style over substance. However, that being said, there are two pages of key recipes and cocktail recipes that save it in the end.If you have ever had their signature house martini - you will understand why these last two pages make the book purchase worthwhile.
