Product Description
This book starts with a meticulous explanation of terminology used in astronomy and astrology. This can be considered as a splendid example of how to explain strictly scientific notions to readers who are not necessarily skilled in the exact sciences. From an astronomical point of view, the most interesting part of the work is the presentation of the old Egyptian world system, which the author concludes was the same as the system of Tycho Brahe (1546-1601). He considers this astronomical system not just as a transitory historical conception, but as something which possesses permanent value. The author's deep historical studies made it possible for him also to solve the problem of the interchange of Mercury and Venus, something indicated many years ago by Rudolf Steiner. This is an important achievement in the history of astronomy. The main astrological finding of this book is that the zodiac of the stars (sidereal zodiac) - as employed by the Babylonians, Egyptians, and ancient Greeks - is the authentic zodiac. Moreover, the auther promotes a new type of astrological chart (hermetic chart) for the conception, birth, and death of personalities under consideration, in addition to the customary geocentric horoscope and in place of the heliocentric horoscope promoted by Willi Sucher (1902-1985). With the hermetic chart the auther places a new tool in the hands of astrologers and opens up new possibilities for astrology as a science. On this basis he develops his two "laws" of reincarnation, illustrating them by striking examples. These "laws" express themselves by way of certain planetary configurations coinciding at the moments of birth and death in successive incarnations. He believes that with these "laws" the significance of the tropical zodiac is disproved. This work of Robert Powell, presenting a new astrological system, is a valuable step in the development of a new wisdom of the stars in line with the ideas of Willi Sucher. Willi Sucher's books and articles are full of charm - deep in a spiritual sense - representing a star wisdom in an embryonic state. With this book by Robert Powell, the ideas of Willi Sucher are born as an earthly reality and something new is brought into the world.Professor Konrad Rudni_kiAstronomical ObservatoryJagiellonian UniversityCracow, Poland ... 5-0 out of 5 stars anthroposophical astrology
This book helped me to begin bringing togother areas which had remained fragmented in my mind. For example, astrology and the chakras to name two. I had already been told that I should see the relations between the chakras and the planets as a sort of inner sky, but that knowledge had remained an abstraction until reading this book.
I especially appreciated the manner in which Powell related each chakra to a given planet. I felt like it gave me much deeper insight not only into how the planets affect me but how my own chakras relate to one another.
His research utilizing Tycho's astrological system which enables chart readings based on both geocentric and heliocentric reading was also interesting. According to Powell, the helicentric reading can tell us about how the spirit seeks to direct consciousness toward the future and the geocentric reading reveals more on past karma affecting the present. He gave numerous examples of reincarnated individuals based on the research of Rudolf Steiner.
If other writers build on this work, I think that astrology will be revolutionized in the future. I only wish I had access to this sort of astrological reading because I am not particularly skilled in this area.

Finally, I appreciated this book enough to order volume 2. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars The Feminine God
If you are like me you have always felt there was something missing in modern religion...the feminine side of God.This book helps explain what happened to that aspect of the divinity when the Catholic Church gained control of Christianity and made it completely male-oriented, condemning any sign of femininity to silence and dishonor.

4-0 out of 5 stars A great overview
This is a very good introduction to the Sophianic tradition, which has transcended many faiths and cultures since the dawn of mankind.Powell does a good job of integrating different historical sources and experiences to provide us a compelling account of the role of The Divine Sophia in human history, despite the historical attempts to suppress Her influence. ... Product Description
Robert Powell argues persuasively and elegantly for the usefulness of formal models in studying international conflict and for the necessity of greater dialogue between modeling and empirical analysis. Powell makes it clear that many widely made arguments about the way states act under threat do not hold when subjected to the rigors of modeling. In doing so, he provides a more secure foundation for the future of international relations theory.

Powell argues that, in the Hobbesian environment in which states exist, a state can respond to a threat in at least three ways: (1) it can reallocate resources already under its control; (2) it can try to defuse the threat through bargaining and compromise; (3) it can try to draw on the resources of other states by allying with them. Powell carefully outlines these three responses and uses a series of game theoretic models to examine each of them, showing that the models make the analysis of these responses more precise than would otherwise be possible.

The advantages of the modeling-oriented approach, Powell contends, have been evident in the number of new insights they have made possible in international relations theory. Some argue that these advances could have originated in ordinary-language models, but as Powell notes, they did not in practice do so. The book focuses on the insights and intuitions that emerge during modeling, rather than on technical analysis, making it accessible to readers with only a general background in international relations theory. ... Product Description
The zodiac was first clearly defined by the Babylonians some 2500 years ago, but until recently the basis of this original definition remained unknown. This zodiac of the Babylonians, known as the sidereal zodiac because it is specified in direct relation to the stars (Latin sideris, 'starry'), was used for centuries throughout the ancient world, all the way to India, and must be distinguished from the tropical zodiac in widespread use by astrologers in the West today, which was introduced only in the middle of the second century A.D. by the Greek astronomer Claudius Ptolemy. Such was Ptolemy's influence, however, that the tropical zodiac gained prominence and, except for its survival (in a variant form) in India, knowledge of the sidereal zodiac was lost.In this thrilling study of the history of the zodiac, first submitted in 2004 as his Ph.D. thesis, Robert Powell rescues the the sidereal zodiac from the dusts of time, tracing it back to the Babylonians in the sixth/fifth centuries B.C. The implications of this discovery-among them the restitution of the sideral zodiac to its rightful place at the heart of astrology-are immense, they key point being that the signs of the sidereal zodiac, each thirty degrees long, coincide closely with the twelve astronomical constellations of the same name, whereas the signs of the tropical zodiac, since they are defined in relation to the vernal point, now have no direct relationship to the corresponding zodiacal constellations, owing to the precession of the equinoxes. This revolutionary history of the zodiac includes chapters on the Egyptian decans and the Hindu nakshatras, showing how these sidereal divisions, which originated in Egypt and India, are related to the original Babylonian zodiac. It also sheds light on the controversy surrounding the 'zodiac question' (tropical vs. sidereal), illuminating the history of the tropical zodiac-showing that originally it was not a zodiac at all, but a calendar for describing the course of the seasons! This book, the fruit of thirty years of research, is intended not only for scholars but for general readers as well, and offers the clearest andmost comprehensive study of the history of the zodiac yet published. ... Product Description
In The Book of Chilam Balam of Chumayel, it is said:Katun 11 Ahau is set upon the mat, set upon the throne, when their ruler is set up.... The heavenly fan, the heavenly wreath and the heavenly bouquet shall descend. The drum and rattle of the lord of 11 Ahau shall resound, when flint knives are set into his mantle.... Ahau 11 is the beginning of the count, because this was the katun when the foreigners arrived. They came from the east when they arrived. Then Christianity also began. The fulfillment of its prophecy is [ascribed] to the east.... This is a record of the things which they did. After it had all passed, they told of it in their [own] words, but its meaning is not plain.Despite the explosion of books, videos and TV shows that claim to penetrate the mystery of "2012"--the numerical shorthand for the completion on December 21, 2012, of the thirteenth B'ak'tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar--consensus about its meaning seems to remain elusive. As metaphysical speculation mounts, professional astronomers and ethnologists dismiss the whole body of modern interpretations of the Mayan calendar as New Age gobbledygook. Among the supposed seers themselves--including José Arguelles, Carl Johann Calleman, and Daniel Pinchbeck--doctrinal disputes worthy of academics are now the norm. The scholars have every right to be miffed at the sometimes sloppy thinking and exaggerated claims of the seers, which tend toward enthusiastic proclamations of an imminent, universally accelerated psychic evolution, while the seers themselves have legitimate critiques about the limits of scientific inquiry when it comes to the prophetic traditions of ancient peoples.

Christ and the Maya Calendar approaches the significance of 2012 by spiritually penetrating phenomena of today. Drawing on the book of Revelation--which provides an archetype for understanding spiritual history, as well as on Rudolf Steiner's Apocalyptic indications, a completely new context for grasping the end date of the Maya calendar emerges. In a November 1919 lecture, Steiner made a stunning remark about Ahriman: "Ahriman skillfully prepares his goal beforehand ... [and] will find an important instrument for preparing his incarnation. His incarnation is undoubtedly coming, and this lack of insight will enable him to prepare it triumphantly." The subtitle of this book--"2012 and the Coming of the Antichrist"--refers to this coming incarnation of Ahriman. In fact, Steiner narrowed the timeline for Ahriman's incarnation, saying it would come "before even a small part of the third millennium has run its course." Just after Christmas 1919, Steiner revealed more about the impending incarnation of Ahriman, saying almost offhandedly that Ahriman's name might be "John William Smith." With this remark, he clearly pointed to the incarnation occurring in the English-speaking West, while other remarks made it is certain Steiner meant that the incarnation would take place in America.

In addition to penetrating the spiritual background of our time in relation to the coming of the Antichrist (the incarnation of Ahriman), the authors explore the significance of the Mexican mysteries and present a wealth of new research with the intention of helping the reader to navigate the Apocalyptic scenario currently shaping up, with the global financial crisis as one important expression. Most important, the authors refer to the Second Coming of Christ as the true event of our time; the incarnation of Satan/Ahriman is its shadow. The authors also show the significance of Divine Sophia as the antidote to negative consequences of Ahriman's incarnation.

Finally, as a positive manifestation of the world of spirit in our time, the book discusses the significance of the young anthroposophist, Judith von Halle, who since Easter 2004 has born the stigmata, the visible signs of the wounds of Christ.A Note on the Title

The word Antichrist is used in the title and throughout this book, and there are at least two ways in which this word may be understood. The more general use of the word is found in the Bible and in Christian tradition, in which the Antichrist is understood to be the human being who bears the incarnated Satan (also called "Ahriman" in Persian tradition and, in Revelation 13 in the Bible, "The Beast"). This is how the word Antichrist is used in this book.

However, this general meaning should be distinguished from another, more specialized use of the word, as found in the spiritual science of Anthroposophy, which often uses the word Antichrist to designate the Sun Demon, known as Sorath in the Hebrew tradition, referred to as the "Beast whose number is 666," and as "the two-horned Beast" in Revelation 13. In this connection, Rudolf Steiner refers to "the False Prophet who represents the teachings of The Beast." The authors of this book discuss the significance of Sorath in chapters 7 and 8. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars Incredibly Interesting... a must read!!!

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book !
This review won't reiterate Laughton's review which outlines the book well. I thought the first section written by Dann was very well done. All those players among the Mayans were confusing for me, so I made a "Who's Who"list of the primary individuals discussed. The names are Spanish, long (15 letters), and unfamiliar. Unlike some historical accounts Dann's section flows like a novel which kept me engaged. It establishes an excellent background for Powell's huge contribution which follows, which is totally extraordinary! This is a deep, expansive subjectwhich I cannot yet grasp but can behold with utter awe andwonder. I like the way Powell explains deeper meaningto what we mortals might construe as ordinary-ish contemporary events. In other words, there are no accidents in lifeor in our history. Everything has deeper meaningand do we/can we apprehend it? Powell helps us do just that and in this way his book is inspiring. I have taken some workshops with Powelland his teachings are at a depth beyond my expectation and comprehension yet he is able to pull his readers/followers into a different realm of knowing. These are important times and he is an important messenger.I have read this book twice, bought an extra one to loan to othersandI am grateful for every word Powell writes!

4-0 out of 5 stars split down the middle
I am familiar with the work of Rudolf Steiner and so was interested in seeing what the anthroposophical take would be on the 2012 predictions. This bookwas very interesting but instead of being a collaborative effort, it came in two parts with two very distinct voices. While the first, Kevin Dann, was well informed, he didn't seem to me to have the spiritual depth of understanding that Robert Powell had.In fact after reading the first section, I found myself very distressed.Robert Powell seemed to be able to take the same information and redeem it.In general, a thought provoking read.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Great Contemporary View of Steiner's Work
This is an excellent book! It is well written, timely, and does a great job of tying together the correspondences between various faiths, including Maya, Aztec, Ancient Vedic/Hindu, and Christian. And, it is well grounded in the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, as well as other exceptional seers of our time. This is a very worthwhile book for anyone interested in: the apocalypse, as represented in the Book of Revelation; the Second Coming of the Etheric Christ; the approach and mission of the Divine Sophia; the redemption of Lucifer; and, the juxtaposition of the inversion of Satan/Ahriman and how the opportunity of this incarnation can be used for the benefit of human evolution. Highly recommended.

This small but profound book is divided into three parts. In the first, Reflections, Robert Powell comments on some of humankind's most timeless puzzles and questions: Does the body actually exist? What is man, if not that bundle of concepts and images that comes upon him at birth? The second, Interchanges, uses a dialogue format that recalls Plato's Allegory of the Cave, in which a teacher and student questioner in a modern setting discuss non-duality, consciousness, and reality. The third part, Essays, is comprised of eight essays, each only a few pages long but addressing overarching themes including consciousness, fear of death, the end of the search, and the notion of the real as unknowable. Readers will leave the book with a satisfying conclusion to a brief, luminous work that can be read again and again. ... Read more

The majority of modern western astrology is based on the tropical zodiac, which emerged through ancient Greek astronomers from a calendar dividing the world into twelve solar months. This book controversially argues that an alternative system, based on the sidereal zodiac as practised by Babylonian, Egyptian, Roman and Hindu astrologers, is a more accurate reflection of the location of planets in our starry heavens. The authors present compelling arguments for re-establishing a wisdom-filled astrology as used by the three magi who journeyed to Bethlehem. They examine specific biographical examples, including the biography of Rudolf Steiner, in relation to the sidereal zodiac and the rules of astrological reincarnation. This is an important book for anyone interested in how we perceive and work with our cosmos. ... Read more

Product Description
In the first chapters of this book we simultaneously follow two threads. While considering the lives of Richard Wagner, Friedrich Nietzsche, and King Ludwig II of Bavaria in their nineteenth-century incarnations and in earlier incarnations, we examine the planetary configurations accompanying not only their conception, birth, and death, but also various significant events in their lives. In this way we experience how these two perspectives-the biographical and the astrological-weave together and are intimately interconnected. As illuminating as this is, the author also indicates however that astrological calculation alone can never suffice for the truly deep biographical research into karma and reincarnation demonstrated in this work. The author shows that although it is clear that an individual's destiny is connected with the positions of the celestial bodies-that certain regular occurrences are evident-nonetheless no strict regularities exist. He maintains moreover that a certain level of clairvoyance is requisite for any serious astrological study of destiny; even more-that real astrology requires initiation. Such astrological research, when successfully carried out as it is here, relating salient celestial configurations to the life-drama of well-known historical personalities, reads like fine literature. On a practical level this work illustrates several important new tools for the astrologer: how to calculate hermetic charts, how to cast horoscopes not only of birth and death but also of conception (including the astrological significance of the embryonic period between conception and birth), and then also how to apply these various horoscopes in describing the spiral of life that unfolds in seven-year periods during the course of a person's earthly existence. All this reveals profound and fascinating regularities-among them the discovery that stellar configurations during the embryonic period are reflected again and again in the subsequent periods of life.Quite new for most readers will be the author's treatment of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, indicating that the names given these planets are deeply meaningful in the light of spiritual science. To make his case he extends Rudolf Steiner's description of cosmic evolution by drawing upon Greek mythology, particularly Orphic cosmology. This book by Robert Powell is of the greatest possible interest.Professor Konrad Rudni_kiAstronomical ObservatoryJagiellonian UniversityCracow, Poland ... Read more

Product Description

2007 saw the centenary of scouting and the 150th anniversary of the birth of its founder, Robert Baden-Powell. Playing the Game examines the long-lasting legacy of the movement and its forefather. Drawing on Baden-Powell's extensive archive, it is a rich and evocative selection of his writings, on peace—a major theme throughout his career, on his own life—drawing from his wonderful idiosyncratic anecdotal autobiography, and including a healthy sprinkling of some of Baden-Powell's more memorable aphorisms, such as "I don’t mind confessing I have a weakness for hippos," and "The man who holds the average boy’s attention for more than seven minutes is a genius," not to mention "Knowledge without character is mere pie-crust." Imbued with a strong sense of the splendor and the old-school Empire feel of Baden-Powell’s work, Playing the Game offers a dazzling window into a world that’s gone, but whose legacy remains alive, not least in the 28 million members of the Scouts Association.

Applying recent advances in game theory to the study of nuclear deterrence, the author examines some of the most complex and problematic issues in deterrence theory. Game-theoretic analysis allows the author to model the effects on deterrence strategies of first-strike advantages, of limited retaliation, and of the number of nuclear superpowers involved in the international system. With the formalizations he develops, the author is able to demonstrate the fundamental similarity of the two seemingly disparate deterrence strategies that have evolved in response to the superpower arms buildup; the strategy that leaves something to chance and the strategy of limited retaliation. ... 5-0 out of 5 stars Too often overlooked
Nuclear Deterrence Theory is a very important work for students of strategy.Unfortunately, the book was published near the end of the Cold War when interest in nuclear strategy was waning.Consequently, it is not remembered as the important work that it is.

During in the Cold War, there was a very large debate amongst students of strategy and national security about how to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons.Numerous books were published on topics like brinkmanship, MAD, limited retaliation, and first strikes. In many ways, Nuclear Deterrence Theory is the culmination of this literature and the answer to many of questions posed within it.

In Nuclear Deterrence Theory, Powell uses game theory to address the topics listed above. His analysis shows that there are widespread misconceptions regarding some of these topics. Moreover, the use of game theory provides insights into new dynamics within nuclear strategy. In general, although this may not be his aim, Powell causes the reader to appreciate how much warfare has changed since 1945 and how new ways of looking at strategy are needed.

Some readers might worry that the use of game theory, and the accompanying mathematical formulas, would be drawback to the book. However, Powell's writing is sufficiently explanatory to enforce his points and make the game theoretical analysis clear. ... Read more

Kindle version doesn't allow for pictures to be viewed. Made some areas more difficult to follow. Nothing too exciting in the book but was a decent read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Smart, witty and with a sense of adventures of a centuy ago
To be true to the reader og this review I should state that I was for a long time a scout and in being so a long time reader of BP. Regardless his funny and agile writing makes for a very pleasant experience of reading. It will be an interesting read for people who like history specially the XIX century or even for an aspiring detective or CIA agent as it shows practically some principles of intelligence and information gathering.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bits of Adventure from Someone Who Lived It
The author, Robert Baden-Powell, was a British soldier and spy, and also founded the Boy Scouts. The author's love of adventure is evident in this book, which is a collection of 1- and 2-page essays.

After a short series of essays defending espionage as being both useful and honorable, the remainder of the book explains spycraft of the time and particular incidents in which Baden-Powell directly participated. The stories are interesting, and would certainly appeal to many young readers.Occasional use is made of the author's own illustrations, including sketches of fortifications modified for secrecy to resemble much more benign subjects (insects, stain glass windows, etc.) which were spirited back to headquarters.

On a historical note, this book is reminiscent of other adventure books by European authors in roughly the same period (Jules Verne, Edgar Rice Burroughs, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle).

Titles published by Dover tend to be inexpensive, and this book is no exception.Even at full retail, this book is a steal.

4-0 out of 5 stars Dated but inspiring
Lord Baden-Powell's autobiographical treatise on the basics of spy trade craft is dated, around a hundred years old at this point. The technological innovations since then have changed many aspects of the intelligence profession. On the other hand, the work is inspiring.B-P's passion for human intelligence collection is contagious.Based on this work, it is clear that he loved what he did for the thrill and challenge of it and it was a fringe benefit that it served his country (I am not questioning his patriotism, but his writing makes it clear that his work was his true passion).

There are numerous vignettes to illustrate different techniques and principle of tradecraft, mostly with some humerous aspect. My personal favorite was the incident where B-P was collecting on German fortifications in the Balkans. He walked through the German military site drawing pictures of the facility, was stopped, and was able to walk away without being detained. How did he pull this off?It was the butterfly net, book about butterflies, sketch book full of drawings of butterflies, and having the nerve to ask the German soldier if he had seen a specific butterfly.Where were the sketches of the fort?Concealed inside the drawings of the butterflies....

The book is short and aimed at 10-15 year olds, but is enjoyable to anyone with an interest in espionage or the history of espionage.

Caveat: If you are a parent and feel that a career in intelligence is not acceptable for your child, keep this book out of your child's hands!

Oh, and Baden-Powell went on to found the Boy Scouts."Scouts" as in "soldiers specializing in tactical intelligence collection".... ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Scouting for Boys
Something I was looking for to give as a gift for adult scouters. It was a great item and they all enjoy it.

2-0 out of 5 stars Get a new introduction!
Great book, terrible intro. What were the publisher's thinking?Do they want to sell books and have this recommended or not? The Intro by Elleke Boehmer is so longwinded (39 pages) and so derogatory toward the Scouts and it's founder it's mind-boggling.She obviously has no respect for the organization, and the sparse accolades she dispenses are only a cover in my opinion so she can degrade and dissect the Scouts two-fold thereafter.I recommend `Boy Scouts Handbook: The first Edition, 1911' (the Dover publications version) until they reprint this book with a positive and uplifting intro; one that makes you want to read or buy the book in the first place.

1-0 out of 5 stars Lateness
I wouldn't recommend buying this product. I ordered it over a month ago and I still haven't got it. Amazon says I probably have to wait another month... so if you like waiting a loooong time for your products, go ahead and buy this one.

Even though I haven't still received my book, Amazon has been sending me e-mails daily asking me to write a review about the product. Up until now I thought: "I can't write a review, i still haven't got my damn book." But then I realized that reviewing was a perfect way to show amazon, and its future customers that I am really pissed about this slow transportation methods and the constant e-mails.

So there you go, that's my review.

5-0 out of 5 stars Scouting for boys
It was recieved in great shape and fast.We have enjoyed the contents a lot.

5-0 out of 5 stars Be Prepared... for a great, refreshing book.
Some of the information in this book may now be out of fashion and sometimes wrong, it is a great pleasure to read "Scouting for Boys". The ideals defended by B.P.: courage, generosity and compassion are as much a necessity today as they were a hundred years ago, when that book was first published.

The idea of an active, "hands on" education still find its echo in today's most recent education innovations.

Of course, the key message lies in the the initials of the author: Be Prepared! ... Read more

Book Description

"The reference source that biologists interested in West Indian herpetofauna have been waiting for."--Steven Reichling, curator, Memphis Zoo

"A state-of-the-art compendium. The West Indies is one of the hottest of the world's biodiversity hot spots and will continue to be a focus of ecological research, now invigorated by this definitive synthesis."--S. Blair Hedges, Pennsylvania State University

The West Indies have become a major focus for biologists and conservationists. Its herpetofauna is considered one of the richest and most vulnerable in the world. These fragile natural environments are home to many unique animals that occur only on these islands. Loss of habitat, development of scenic areas for a burgeoning tourist industry, and the introduction of invasive species have contributed to an already tenuous situation for many of the region’s native species.

This volume summarizes the natural history of each of the more than seven hundred species of frogs and reptiles that live in the West Indies. Sure to be the starting point for all future research on West Indian amphibians and reptiles, it will be an essential companion to the biologist contemplating or conducting research in the area.

5-0 out of 5 stars Charming little gem
This sweet little Christmas story has already been more intelligently reviewed by others.Perfect for youngsters and the young at heart, beautifully illustrated, and well written - this little book now has a permanent home on my bookshelf.

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice little story
This is a pleasant and well-written little story, but nowhere near the excitement of Day of the Jackal and other top Forsyth books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Another YES vote!
I, too, like some of the other reviewers read this book many years ago and have never forgotten it. Recently I wanted a book for a friend and not wanting to loan my copy of The Shepherd ordered another copy. Other reviewers have mentioned the plot so I will simply say DO read this book. You will come away better for having read it and perhaps you too will remember it 25 years from now...

4-0 out of 5 stars Forsyth Surprises but Also Charms
Forsyth has produced a charming novella that strays some from his traditional suspense stories. While you won't be surprised that there is a surprising twist at the end, this heartwarmer is perfect for the holiday season, and a nice opportunity for younger readers who have not experienced his classic masterpieces to try him out.

4-0 out of 5 stars Rod Serling meets Stephen Coonts
A fine easy reading novella with a bit of suspense.

A 1950's British fighter pilot runs into mechanical, weather, and fuel problems.Things are bleak until a mysterious escort (The Shepherd) in a vintage prop driven fighter shows up as an escort towards safety.I'll leave it at that.

The story is more than a bit predictable and the reader can easily "see it coming".Still, Forsyth sets the bleak winter scene well and with appropriate British decorum. Forsyth's experience as a pilot brings insight to the flight aspects. Beautifully and masterfully illustrated by Lou Feck (all editions, hardcover to MM paperback).

Nice story.I didn't find the suspense particulary gripping, and as I mentioned, there is more than a little predictablility . . . still, a quick and pleasant read. ... Read more
