Ashley Parker Angel was born Ashley Ward Parker, the only child of Darren and Paula Parker, and raised in the town of Redding, California. His grandparents are of German and Irish descent. Ashley was named after the fictional character Ashley Wilkes, his mothers favorite character from Margaret Mitchells 1937 novel Gone with the Wind, which later became a classic film of the same title. DEVOTED ROY ROGERS FAN
I grew up watching my favorite cowboy and cowgirl.I saw every one of their pictures as soon as they came to the West End Theater (I lived in Pittsburgh, PA and, at that time, was not old enough to godowtown alone) I sat through the show twice.

I was at every appearance Roy Roger, Sr. made in Pittsburgh.I was happy when I heard of the birth of Roy, Jr., sorrowful at the death of his wife Adele.And happy when I read he had married Dale Evens.I never missed one of their movies either.

Now, I am old enough not to tell my age.During a cross-country trip on Route 66 our tour had a Leisure Day in Branson, Missouri.It was there I found Roy Rogers, Jr. at the Happy Trails Theater, following in his famous father's footsteps.Singing and entertaining a happy audience with music and comedy.

I found this book written in an easy to read fashion.He tells of Growing up with Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys and Dale Evans, Queen of the west.But to him they were just MOM and DAD.He tells his story in the first person.I enjoyed his book and think you will, too. ... Read more
