Product Description
Valentine's Day 2007. The body of model, actress, former U.S. Playmate of the Year, and international celebrity Anna Nicole Smith, dead of an apparent drug overdose, lay in a morgue in South Florida, decomposing at an alarming rate. No one could decide where to bury her.

Enter Judge Larry Seidlin, and twenty-nine lawyers. The six-day trial that followed heard explosive testimony: That Anna Nicole's mother, a lifetime police officer with a nose for foul play, had predicted her death just months before. That Howard K. Stern slept on a couch downstairs while Anna Nicole and Larry Birkhead made love upstairs. That Stern, her lawyer, smuggled a duffle bag full of drugs into the hospital room of a pregnant Anna Nicole while she was under a doctor's care for her drug dependency. Under oath, both Stern and Birkhead claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole's baby daughter, Dannielynn.

Was Anna Nicole Smith murdered? Did she commit suicide? If she died from a drug overdose, was it accidental or intentional? And what about Anna Nicole's son, twenty-year old Daniel, a young man who did not have a drug problem, dead just a few months before from a methadone overdose? Was Daniel murdered? Was his overdose accidental or intentional? It always came back to the drugs.

Judge Larry Seidlin captivated America, and the world, during the six-day trial in which he laid bare the ugly reality of prescription drug abuse among celebrities, and the role enablers play in their addiction, and sometimes their death.

Judge Larry Seidlin is convinced the original investigations into the deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and her son Daniel were seriously flawed. He believes that someone committed manslaughter, through reckless conduct, in the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Judge Seidlin believes that reckless conduct also led to the death of her son. He points out the similarities between the drug deaths of Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson. In The Killing of Anna Nicole Smith, Judge Seidlin presents damning evidence and explains, for the first time, why he thinks justice eluded Anna Nicole Smith. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars BS
This is a bunch of crap. What a waste. The Judge is under investigation in Florida.

2-0 out of 5 stars Here comes the judge? Whatever!
I agree with a previous interview -this judge REALLY thinks he's pretty great stuff! This book, though some parts were interesting and filled with info I had not picked up while watching proceedings and reading papers, was mostly his "love for Virgie, disdain for Howard" and just too one-sided. There were MANY parts througout this book that he, as the judge, when quoting himself from transcripts, said things I couldn't even UNDERSTAND??? Just BIZARRE statements, analogies, wierd wierd stuff. So hard to describe. As I have said, there are parts that were interesting. But for the most part, it was just strange. He thought Anna Nicole's mother was just really wonderful. Anna HATED her! In many interviews Anna seemed completely aware of what was going on and STILL couldnt stand her mom! But the judge thought the only reason for that was because, clearly, per the judge, she was on drugs. This judge seriously thought that Howard was part of a covert operation to kill Daniel AND Anna to get the Marshall money and share it with the baby. OH PLEASE!!! Daniel died from Methadone. Howard did NOT kill him! Howard loved that kid and Anna. The judge just had nothing but disdain for Howard, and he failed to see how much Howard truly loved and adored this woman. Maybe he didnt always make the best decisions. But I find it interesting that the Judge felt he should "get to the bottom of all the underlying situations" yet his questioning of Virgie, and his entrapment of Howard were disgusting. He all but gave Virgie a peace officers "Medal of Honor". It was too wierd.
His comments per transcripts, and his line of questioning were so clear in who he liked and didnt (based on NOTHING he previously knew), had I been one of the attorney's I would have asked for him to recuse himself. He was not even in the "fair and impartial" category.
If you cannot feel for Howards pain, thought Anna was a drugged up wash-out, and Virgie was your mother-of-the-year candidate, this book is for you. Because that is JUST how the JUDGE felt. But in agreeing with a previous review on this site, he did sprinkle throughout this book all the reasons he adored himself. Heavens-he put some pictures in the book and one was HIMSELF standing in front of a restaurant in the Bahamas where Howard apparently picked up food for himself, Anna and Daniel. WOW!!! Breaking news! The judge has a picture of a fast food joint??? Dont waste your money on this book. Only 3 maybe 4 tidbits that were revealed that I didnt already know. All in all- not a great read

3-0 out of 5 stars Judge is comical
This book is great if you're looking for a very easy read that requires little or no brain power. Not really anything new about Anna, but you will definitely learn how highly Judge Seidlin thinks of himself and that part is actually pretty comical. I wouldn't buy it hoping to learn anything about Anna, however it is good for a little chuckle regarding the judge.

5-0 out of 5 stars Trial has begun in L.A...great reading
This book is filled with golden nuggets of new evidence pointing to murder. Anna Nicole's mother even warned her that her son had been murdered and she would be next! The unhealthy obsession by her devoted "man-Friday" allowed him to feed very pregnant Anna huge quantities of drugs--and is revealed in this court hearing for the first time. Judge Seidlin gets rivetting new testimony opening the doors to new investigations of Anna Nicole's and her son's sudden deaths, pointing directly to foul play by one of the major participants. You won't be able to put this book down. Courtroom statements and actual facts are so much better than fiction! Thank God little Dannielynn came home to her loving father Larry Birkhead, and is out of harm's way. If you prefer actual courtroom drama to frenzied media speculation, you will really enjoy this book!

1-0 out of 5 stars All about Judge Seilden
Looks like the Judge has to make some extra money for his retirement. NOT WORTH IT!!!!!! Wish I would have waited on this book till it was priced at 99 cents. I knew once I was on chapter 3 and Judge Seilden was just praising himself it was only gonna get worse. I think he was trying to get his point across that he was Mr. Wonderful in this case when I still see him as the ring leader of the circus. This was his ticket to fame. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Factual and well written
Eric and Eva Redding tend to get preachy at times playing moral umpires that want to judge foul or fair when Smith strikes out in the ball park of life. In disputes with her maids and bodyguards, who was telling the truth and who was lying? Wasn't her overeating, overspending, and drug abuse awful? But should we trust a sermon from the photographer and the talent scout that first discovered Anna Nichole Smith for a Playboy centerfold and made her Brooke Shields-type face and Jayne Mansfield figure so famous? The Reddings might have sealed her destiny for destruction from that point onward. It is a bit hypocritical to say that she shouldn't have lied in her modeling interview about her previous work in Houston strip bars because Playboy wanted new models with a fresh wholesome image. Most people would not claim Playboy magazine ever had this type of image. It is interesting to recollect that Larry Burkhead testified he really had proof he was the father of Smith's last baby, Danielynn, and that she had him put his thumb print in an album under the spot labeled Daddy. DNA tests later proved he was. Ironically, the inheritance dispute about the fortune she inherited from her aged oil billionaire husband, J. Howard Marshall, remains unsettled today. The writing in this book is a bit too often compiled from other sources, though. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this book
Reading some of the 1 star reviews about the book and author, I kind of feel silly. Maybe I am a little ignorant to the "facts" or what was made public when she had died. But I enjoyed this book way to much too care.

I never knew much of Anna Nicole Smith, and to be completely honest, I wasn't interested in her or her life until I had read that she passed. When I opened the book and read the first page, I was sucked in and didn't put the book down until I was either too tired to read on, or done with it completely.

I learned a lot from just this one book, and I have recommended it to everybody that I know.

5-0 out of 5 stars book
I read this book in less than 2 days! It was a good book, very detailed and lots of pictures

4-0 out of 5 stars Wow!
Incredible!I followed the whole story back when this ordeal was going on (I think all of America did) & this takes everything a step further! Not sure how much actual truth was involved...

3-0 out of 5 stars A Nest of Vipers
I just finished reading Blonde Ambition and a phrase my Grandma used instantly came to mind...what a nest of vipers! It seems to me that everyone in Anna Nicoles life but her son Daniel used her, abused her, or was out to get something from her. Less than a month before his death Daniel contacted a private investigator because he greatly feared Howard K Stern would end up killing Anna with drugs, he also asked more than one person to go with him to meet Dannielyn because he was afraid for his own life as well. No one he asked agreed to accompany him (yet these same people were suddenly able to rush to the Bahamas after his death to join the publicity circus)Daniel took his last breath with the P.I.'s card in his pocket. Sadly, his fears for himself and his Mother were justified.
Rita Cosby's reporting skills are questionable in my opinion. So many things in this book were attributed to annonymous sources that I was left with doubts about the veracity of the information I was reading. I can't say that I enjoyed this book as it was a sad commentary on a sad life. However it was interesting to read about what went on behind the scenes. Had more of the anecdotes and accusations been credited or had a way to be verified I would have added another star. All in all an interesting read but one that left me feeling sort of sickened at the things we humans are capable of doing to each other.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally, Anna's Story
What a great book! I thought this was interesting from start to finish. It was written in a clear and concise manner that allowed me to draw my own conclusions in the end. I believe this book willl appeal to all readers. My friends and I have spent many hours debating all aspects of Anna's life and the issues surrounding it often refering to the book for backup. I hope Miss Cosby will continue to follow drama as it unfolds and keep her fans posted. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars A girl scorned
This book is like listening to an aquaintence bash a mutual friend. It is badly written, worded and included typos. I feel bad for Donna, I believe she is a sister scorned~wasn't as protected from their abusive father as Anna was and is resentful that Anna found a way out and she didn't. We all know that Anna had her scars from all of this~did her 'sister' really need to write a book bashing her?......I am in the middle of the book and don't think I will continue because it gives you an 'uncomfortable' feeling, like you wish someone would stop talking about someone you feel bad for......... Donna, your sister died before you finished this book for gods sake!!!!!

2-0 out of 5 stars It's more about her sister's life and view
I feel so bad after reading this.

Her sister hated Anna. I can read through all her lines. She put her down so many times subtly and went on and on about how stupid she was for having a relationship with the father who apparently molested her (the author). She does not write it like a biography but it's like she is getting revenge.

Alot of gossip, incendiary gossip that is based on guesses.

I feel so bad for Anna. I guess the title says it all, "TRAINWRECK" is what her sister calls Anna and laughs about it in this book. That is what her sister thinks of her and here is why.

It's very sad. Donna dyes her hair platinum and wears lipstick just like Anna yet smears her and looks down, condescends and just shells out the gossip based on what it looked like to her.

I love Anna, and am defending her.

It's like reading Marilyn Monroe's biographies where authors ( write about themselves) call her evil, a damned dark lost woman, sinful, unholy, bad, and drunk. Perverts write books about her and so do women saying she was fallen and tragic.

When I can see the good in Marilyn Monroe shine through every photo and ever film. The innocence and joy she shares with the world. She is nothing of that sort. A playful kitten not afraid of sex or touched by ugliness.

The book is a mirror of the author.

But that still makes it an interesting read. It is. It's very low class life with crack babies and dysfunctional families.

It tells very little of Anna. I would give this a good biography on Anna's sisters life. There are more photos in there of her and her kids and distant relatives, and very few of Anna. She says her Mexican husband stole all the photos.

Interesting read. But not for Anna Lovers.

1-0 out of 5 stars Donna is White Trash
This woman is such a piece of "white trash" and so jealous of her beautiful half sister Vicki. The book is filled with contradictions and stories (pure b.s.) about her life. No one cares about Donna whatever her name is. She is certainly a "user loser" and it is plain to see why Anna wanted nothing to do with her. Most of the information is stolen from other books about Anna. Anna must have gotten her looks from Virgie's side of the family because try as she might....Donna is one homely looking woman. Most of the pictures are of her family. What goes around, comes around. Don't waste your money on this...I bought it used and it wasn't worth the 3.06 I paid for it.

1-0 out of 5 stars JUMPY
To me the book jumped around too much. One minute it talked about her growing up, then about her being married to the old man, and then back to her as a child. I like to read things in chronilogical order and this was not at all like that. The best part was the END!!!

3-0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title
I really wanted to like this book. Although I knew Anna Nicole was not brought up in the same househould as her 1/2 sister, I had hoped she could shed some light on some of the cute, child antics sisters usually share. The title of the book was "Train Wreck The and Death of Anna Nicole Smith."However, the book was 80% or more about her sister , Donna's family, friends, children, mother, etc.I believe on some level she was attempting to prove once and for all that Anna Nicole did, indeed interact withthe other side of the family.

From the first page it is obvious that Donna is angry that Vickie, and not herself won the priviledge of becoming, in her own way, an American Idol.Rather than focus on the life of Anna Nicole, Donna focuses on herself, her family, and the relationships she has had with men, etc. There are a series of pictures throughout the book: most of them have nothing with Anna Nicole. It was like having an in-law sit and show you page after page of pictures that are important to them, but which you have no interest in.

I gave this a rating of 3 because there are multiple attempts to explain some of the behavior's of Anna Nicole, and she did seem to have a real concern and sisterly love for her. There were many inconsistancies: in one place Donna states "I have never made any money off of my sisters fame, I refuse to.."However, a couple chapters later she mentions being paid $25,000.00 for an interview with Current Affair. She makes it clear that Vergie,Anna's Mother, had forbade a relationship with her father or anyone in his family. Therefore, any knowledge Donna had was either second hand or gotten during the times they would sneak around to see one another.

I am not sorry I read this book, but am glad I borrowed it from the library. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Poetic, true, heartwarming!
This is is a wonderful story of two friends who were very close to Anna Nicole Smith. They were her most honest, and closest friends. They take you behind the scenes to see a completely different side of Anna one that many didn't even know existed. It's a real page-turner. It's wonderful to see how she really was when she wasn't acting. A good read. Two thumbs up. Five gold stars!

5-0 out of 5 stars a true TRIBUTE book
I have seen some negative reviews for this book so far. I would have to say that I disagree ENTIRELY. I think any true Anna Nicole Smith fan would LOVE this book. It is exactly what it says it is, a tribute to the beautiful Ms. Anna Nicole Smith. If you want to read trash and lies with shady "sources", read something like, Blonde Ambition: The Untold Story Behind Anna Nicole Smith's Death. I am not done Great Big Beautiful Doll: The Anna Nicole Smith Story, but if you want to read something to find out more about Anna it seems to be good in that respect. But if you already love Anna and just want to see the inside of her life from a certain point on, and see a true loving tribute, this is an excellent book. I read it in a day, yes it IS an easy read. But there are funny, cute stories about Anna and of course, there are tragic ones. This is an inside view of two friends who, while they may not have known EVERYTHING about Anna, or maybe they didn't want to out of respect for their friend, witnessed Anna's behaviours and can give insight into what was going on especially during difficult periods in her life. It doesn't go into detail about drugs and alcohol like the two aforementioned books but it is exactly what it says it is, a tribute. It is not extremely detailed, it is little moments, a LOT of cute pictures and I would say a loving goodbye to their friends and to share with fans who love her now.

1-0 out of 5 stars Flimsy book
Nothing really new in this book.Fairly boring and disappointing.I do not recommend to anyone else.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great for Anna Fans like myself
No, this book is not meant to be a long story. It's Anna's life in pictures. I've seen a lot of pictures of Anna and this book actually had a few I had never seen before. I did like this book and it took me around an hour to look at it and read the captions and short stories. If you want a long read on Anna's life, choose something else. If you'd like a book of nice big pictures of Anna, Dannielynn and Daniel, this is the book for you. Why fuss over "gross" pictures? Did you completely miss who Anna was and what she did? Duh! Yeah!..she loved her some "manhood" and she let people know. If you don't like that sort of thing, best to stay away from anything Anna Nicole :) Hope this helps some people in their decision on this book. Rest in Peace Anna!

1-0 out of 5 stars AGH! A DESIGNER & AN AGENT NOW THEIR WRITERS?!
AGH! WHAT JUNK! Since when does some amateur designer & a model agent get to call themselves writers?! This book is not even written. Just a bunch of stupid captions. Poor Anna Nicole Amith- everybody is still trying to make a buck off her even in death. This book isn't worth the paper it's printed on! Anna Nicole was in the public eye for 15 years so what made these 2 characters think they were going to do anything different than all the others before them?! Who are these guys anyway? No one has ever heard of them. We've seen all the pictures in here EVERYWHERE before! DON"T waste your time. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars great big beautiful doll
i want to start off by saying that i love anna nicole smith. from the first time that i saw her guess? picture in the magazines, i was just BLOWN AWAY by this womans beauty. but im not one of those fanatics that dismisses everything ever written about her that doesnt portray her in a good light as "lies". we all know how anna lived. but it doesnt make me love her any less. there are alot of books about anna out there that i have to wonder about, but this one i know is true. it was written by eric and d'eva redding, the couple that discovered her and took the pics that ended up in playboy and launched her career. they were good friends of annas in the very beginning and you can tell that they loved her and it hurt them to watch her self destruct the way she did. this book is her life story up until daniel died. it talks about her humble beginnings in houston and mexia, texas with her white trash family. (i hate to say it, but anyone that has seen her family knows its the truth)it also talks about her time as a stripper and how she would sell her body on the side for extra cash. it talks about her drug and alcohol addiction, her multiple lovers of both sexes and her fight over j. howard marshall's estate. annas life was wild, fast paced and crazy and at times, this book is shocking!right after anna died, there was a tribute to her in playboy and there was a bunch of people that knew her and worked with her talking and reminiscing and they were all saying pretty much the same exact things that the reddings say in this book like the fact that everything anna did was in excess-sex, drugs and alcohol, food, ect and that she was a wild child. its a very interesting book and if your an anna fan or just curious about her life, i definently suggest getting this book. anna was no saint, but i love her just the same and i can only hope that shes finally at peace.

1-0 out of 5 stars Friends In Low Places...
With "friends" like this, who needs enemies??Don't let this person profit off a "dear friend".

5-0 out of 5 stars Great View of a Bombshell
I loved the paperback update from the hard cover book.More details about Anna and her life. What a larger than life figure and Eric and Deva Redding really let you in on what was happening behind the scenes!A great read for anyone interested in celebrities and their lives.

5-0 out of 5 stars Finally an accurateANNA NICOLE SMITH biography
I found this book GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL DOLL: THE ANNA NICOLE SMITH STORY to be the most accurate and informative biography out on the market today about this beautiful blonde. I also found it to be an easy read and very to the POINT.I was pleased with learning the facts....AND JUST THE FACTS!Sad to see that ANNA is gone from our lives now....but at least not forgotten.

This authentic "Colorable Annamated Artbook" is filled with intimate memorable moments, rare photographs, our deepest secrets, songs & poems, anecdotes, and handwritten love notes from Ms. Anna Nicole Smith & Hollywood Hatten!!!!! Mark is the brother of Ms. Jackie Hatten, a long time best friend of Ms. Anna Nicole and godmother to her son, Daniel. As a child, Mark was an artist that loved to draw... some years later ,Ms. Anna Nicole simply adored the portraits he would draw for her... she loved his artwork so much, that she insisted they get matching tattoos! Mark has done thousands of Anna Nicole Smith artworks and related projects as some people say its his "Secret Obsession"... yet i say ,"It's a tribute to the Queen," which pulls the curtain back a little further and shows just how deep the "Playboy Bunny" hole goes!

Sweet Anna Nicole Smith is the greatest inspiration to me as an artist that I have ever known, and I memorialize her as the ultimate iconic beauty queen, as a wonderful loving caring mother, and "Heart of my dreams!" I share with her fans this artistic tribute in her honor! This photographic and artistic memoir tells the story of our lives together and chronicles the life of Ms. Anna Nicole Smith with all of it's unbelievable twists, turns and tragedies... It's "Shakespearian Rhapsody" at its best!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best *Anna Nicole Smith Book Available Anywhere!! : )
This book was written by a close friend who knew Vicki before she became Anna Nicole Smith. The Best book available by any author about the late, great legend and celebrity. A Must read for any fan. Lots of personal photographs too!I loved it!A+++++

5-0 out of 5 stars A Good Read! Well written and very informative!
I have read all the books written on Anna Nicole so far, and this book is by far the best of them. It is full of unknown facts, great pictures and is a real page turner. Melissa Byrnum, doesnt sugar coat her role in Anna's life or her behavour in it. It is a good read, from someone who you can tell, cared very much about her, and knew her well.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Must Read
If you truly want to know part ofthe "whole story" behind Vickie Lynn, aka Anna Nicole Smith you should definitely read this book.I, like many, never really followed Anna Nicole until all this tragedy happened. Missy does not sugar-coat anything, and to have put herself out there herself to me says a lot.She has allowed us into a world and life that many of us would have never been able to see or understand. While at times this book may not seem "pretty" it is who Vickie Lynn was and it allows you to better understand what she had become, let's face it sometimes life just isn't pretty. This book also gives you a glimpse into the world that her son Daniel was thrust into. I am also grateful for the fact that she has spoken about Vickie Lynn's mother, I truly believe that Vickie Lynn would have wanted the "real truth" to come out and who better to tell it than someone who at one time was her closest friend and confident. Thank you Missy for writing this book.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting...
The book makes for a very interesting read, but was not well written at all. I found often that this book went nowhere, and occasionally out of order. Much like reading a diary-with a few pages torn out and inserted in random places. Great to see how Anna Nicole was in her early days.

5-0 out of 5 stars Can't-Put-Down Fun Truthful Reading!!
This book absolutely sings with TRUTH- unlike any of the other books I have read on Anna Nicole. Any one who cares about reading the "real deal" will enjoy this book immensely! Kathy Lewis ... Read more
