It is truly sad for those of us who cherish great art that Suzanne Somers has not been nominated for the Nobel Prize for literature.In this collection of the finest poetry from the early phase of Ms. Somers' remarkable literary opus, we are invited to redefine the standards by which we measure poetic genius. Few authors dare to reveal the true depth of their emotional and intellectual life in the way that Somers has in this not-to-be-missed volume.But, more than just an intimate glimpse into the profundity of Somers' view of the world and her place in it, the poems presented in Touch Me stand as a stark and refreshing counterpoint to the limiting conventions of the poetic idiom as broadly understood.

I would present a few selections from this work to illustrate, but, in truth, the written word cannot do justice to Somers's literary stylings.No, her poetry must be read aloud to achieve the full effect.A simple Google search of Kristen Wiig Reads Suzanne Somers's Poetry will lead you to an exquisite dramatic reading.That, more than anything I can say, will tell you whether you are the kind of person who can truly appreciate Touch Me.And, if you are, for heaven's sake, read it out loud to others!

Centuries hence, scholars will marvel at this work.

So bad it's hysterical!
Working at a bookstore back in the late 80s, we had a copy of this book in stock.The other booksellers and I would sometimes take it down from the shelf and read aloud one of Suzanne's terrible poems... and double over with laughter!So bad, they're very very funny.When it came time to return it to the publisher as unsold, my co-workers and I refused to part with it.Another time, a woman overheard one of our readings, thought the poems were as hysterical as we did, and wanted to buy our store's only copy.We talked her out of it; we liked keeping the slim volume on the shelf, where we could take it down whenever we needed a laugh.Eventually, I moved on.Reminded of this book recently, I found it through Amazon's used book services and now have a copy of my own.I post quotes from it on my FaceBook page, giving Suzanne full credit of course, and leave some of my friends begging for more.Get it; you won't regret it.Favorites include "I Wore My Green Sweater Today," "Organic Girl," and "Sometimes I Want to Be a Little Girl."

Time To Reflect
I first read this book over 10 yrs. ago and it "disappeared" with time; so I was delighted to find it again.I enjoyed reading Suzanne's poems back then and since I have matured, I find I enjoy reading them even more this time around.Her poems are about love - all kinds, and all stages, beginning and ending.I find it very true and thought provoking.

Undiscovered
This definitely qualifies as "Splenda." That is to say, it sure ain't sugar. But at a starting price of $1.23, it's priceless, although not worth the shelf space.

"Shiver with difficulty and make us fall..."
There are so many priceless jewels here that I could never single one of them out for special praise. So let me instead offer one of Suzanne's lesser yet still beautiful efforts. If you are ravished by that, just imagine the even greater treasures in store for you within the covers of this slender volume. This one is called "The Lower Parts":

Delicious
I like this diet a lot.It's low carb and I get to eat carbs when I do it right.Delicious recipes.

Love chocolate, not shopping
If you don't mind shopping for Somersize sweetener, Somersize chocolate, Somersize white chocolate, etc. then this book would likely be a good one.I am sure that the recipes are good.I just didn't have the energy to get MORE ingredients for my pantry that I might or might not get around to using.Suzanne looks great, and her recipes from other books were quite good.I was looking for easy chocolate recipes that were low in sugar that I could actually eat.I think I'll just buy some Lara bars from my local grocer.Whew.Just thinking about shopping makes me tired, and I even like shopping at Amazon, but hate paying shipping - although many times that is free or less than the cost of gas to buy special ingredients from several different stores (as you are all well aware of).Still, if you don't mind the shopping, the recipes look like they would turn out well.

Suzanne does it again!
Suzanne's recipes are always innovative and well thought-out.I never have any trouble concocting one of her recipes.Just to point out to the editorial reviewer--the "Level One" or "Level Two" is not a difficulty measurement.It is for the people who are following Suzanne's way of eating, where a food item is considered Level One or Level Two.I really hate it when people write reviews who don't do their research first. ... I have all Suzanne's book and I was so excited to order this one and I was a little disappointed as far as how much I spent.It is average in quality oh well I still love all her other ones.Maybe if you find this one for less money than it is worth it. ... Read more

Good but some parts are very hard to take
My therapist recommended I read this book and it was helpful to me, but some of the stories break your heart, turn your stomach, or both. It is just incredible that children can be abused in so many ways. When you think of an innocent child coming into the world, so innocent and clean, and the trips that adults who should know and act better, impose on them, it make you know there is a Satan in the world, or that is how parts of this book made me feel. Some parts are incredibly shocking but the fact that these people have emerged to live their lives and be in a continual process of healing, is a triumph of their spirits, and to me the triumph of the ultimate spirit of good in the world, after all.
