4-0 out of 5 stars Food for Thought
This book is a collection of essays by notables in the gaming field, and their thoughts about the purpose of the Gamemaster, and ideas on how to make the roleplaying experience better for all. While it does have some "try this" tips, it really isn't a "how to do gamemastering" book, in the sense of checklists and steps.

Multidisciplinary in approach, Nuclear Weapons, Nuclear States and Terrorism is appropriate for any course that focuses on war and peace, conflict resolution, arms control, or peace studies. The new edition brings the nuclear discussion into the post 9/11 world. In addition to providing the students with a solid grounding in the nuclear developments of the cold war, the text gives detailed consideration to such contemporary topics as nuclear terrorism, the actual or potential proliferation of nuclear weapons to nations such as Iran and North Korea, and the Bush administration's war on Iraq based (partly) on the premise that the United States could not tolerate a nuclear-armed Saddam Hussein. ... Product Description
Join three Yellowstone National Park experts in their remarkable discovery of the park's 200-plus "new" waterfalls, most of which the American public, and even Yellowstone park rangers, have never before witnessed. These trailblazers are the first to document the existence of these spectacular natural features--at least 25 of which tower to heights of 100 feet or more--and the authors do so through striking photographs, engaging text, and detailed maps. The book also features the park's 50 known waterfalls and reveals the untold stories surrounding many of them. For nature-lovers, adventure-seekers, and Yellowstone aficionados alike The Guide to Yellowstone Waterfalls and Their Discovery is a landmark work, combining natural and human histories with unbelievably rare geographical discoveries. ... 4-0 out of 5 stars A great guide to Yellowstone's falls
As a photographer that loves to photograph waterfalls, I bought this book to show me where I could find more waterfalls to photograph. With over 300 waterfalls listed, this is a must have for any waterfall lover. Even though most of the listed waterfalls are in the backcountry of Yellowstone, it is a great resource to plan trips to see these magnificent wonders. The book lists the location of the falls, most of the time what USGS topo map to use, the difficulty of getting to the falls, and a little history of the falls. The only thing I wish the authors would have included was a brief description of the hike to the falls so that you could know what to look forward to while hiking to the falls.

5-0 out of 5 stars A remarkable assemblage of waterfalls
The authors of this book have tracked down, and provided color photos, of no less than 250 waterfalls in Yellowstone. While some were previously well known, many are new discoveries or re-discoveries of falls not seen in many years. That so many notable falls could occur in one area (even as large as Yellowstone)is remarkable; that so many significant falls could have remained to be discovered is downright ming-boggling. The authors provide interesting histories and excellent photos of each fall, and the book will be a joy to read and look at for any waterfall lover. My slight quibble is that while they provide coordinates and category of access for each fall, they don't provide directions or hiking distance. (In fairness, it can well be argued that if the information isn't readily available elsewhere for a given fall then the trek is one that should only be undertaken by a hardcore hiker.) Despite the quibble, this is a great book for any waterfall lover, and especially for one planning a trip to Yellowstone.

5-0 out of 5 stars Driveguide, hiking guide and backcountry exploring guide!

Waterfalls are one of natures natural high producers.Do a search on negative ions and you will find that falling water creates an abundance of negative ions in the air.Breathing in this charged air mixture gives a body a natural, invigorating, temporary high. In their book, the authors have obviously been infected by this condition as evidenced by there irrepressible quest to seek out more and more sources of the negative ion producing waterfalls.

This book scores high marks on many fronts. With three different authors contributing, the book does a marvelous job of providing a general education on waterfalls. By clarifying the terms and classes of the waterfalls described, author Rubenstein helps to give personality and color to each individual plume.

Author Whittlesey's extensive historic perspective of the park gives each of the known waterfalls a vivid background description. When the authors caution you not to lean over the trail barrier too far to view a particular waterfall, they then follow up with the details of the tourist that died falling down that very cliff at the same site. As a drive guide to Yellowstones' waterfalls this book cannot be beat. All of the easily accessed falls are covered and described in detail including seasonal variations. For the typical tourist driving through the park, this book will appeal immediately because of the revelation that many more falls are visible with just a short car stop and walk to a viewpoint.

As a hikers guide to the Parks waterfalls this book will have even more appeal. Having spent over 15 years researching the back country for this book, author Mike Stevens has been to many of the falls on repeat occasions under a variety of conditions. In this aspect the book becomes a must for anyone hiking in the back country of Yellowstone. All of the standard trail recommendations are detailed along with accurate descriptions of how to find the falls and experience them in their best display. There are so many falls in the Yellowstone region that this book will certainly add color to almost any hike in the park.

Yellowstone Park is like a huge treasure chest of wild gems. By revealing and putting names to some of the previously `unknown' falls the authors have dug a little deeper into the treasures and helped us realize there is a lot more value in this park than any of us realize. For the experienced Yellowstone back country explorers this book is a must. The authors even give GPS coordinates to many falls that have previously not been written about. Many of the falls have no trails and require at least an overnight stay in the back country.Others are so inaccessible that the authors honestly suggest that the strenuous hike is not worth the effort. The authors even give suggested locations for other waterfalls that have yet to be discovered.

Being a Yellowstone park fan myself I give this book my highest rating and only wish it would have been available when I was employed in the park. The authors show a true enthusiasm for the whole park not just the waterfalls. This book will make you want to get out and get some of those negative ions from the cascading waters. From the text and photos it is apparent that the authors have already had a healthy dose of their own!

5-0 out of 5 stars ALandmark Book on Yellowstone
This is a truly amazing book on Yellowstone. I have not seen one like it. Although much of the book is devoted to newly discovered waterfalls, all the famous ones are in here too. Like Lower Falls, Tower Falls, and the Gibbon Falls. It makes this a great book for any lover of Yellowstone. Whether you've been to the park for a day or visited every year since childhood like myself you will enjoy this book. Even if you just want information on a beautiful part of America.

It has so much information. Waterfall heights, locations, streams and much much more. The hundreds of photos, which are all color, are beautiful; and the numerous maps are very helpful.

If you love Yellowstone, waterfalls, or just great natural scenery you'll want to add this classic to your collection.

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing book....
It is remarkable that in the 1990s, in a place as frequently visited as Yellowstone Park, the authors could discover (and rediscover) nearly 300 waterfalls. And some of the discoveries are amazing: 400-foot-high flumes, waterfalls that begin at a cliff-face and disappear thirty feet later, cascades that twist 180 degrees in their descent.

The photographs range from adequate to stunning, and the descriptions of locations--complete with UTM grid coordinates--make the guide useful to hikers.A summary description explains the place, type, and height of each waterfall, along with a quick evaluation of the effort involved to find each one.As a result, it's a useful guide for everyone from tourists to car campers to serious trekkers.

But the main impact of The Guide to Yellowstone Waterfalls is to reinforce the majesty of Yellowstone Park.Anyone who has spent any time in Yellowstone knows its unique combination of serenity and wierdness: it is a land of oxymorons--and waterfalls. ... Read more

This beautiful book offers dozens of children's favorite rhymes. Lovely, full-color illustrations bring the nursery rhyme characters gloriously to life in this heirloom edition.Amazon.com Review
From the short-and-sweet "Jack Be Nimble" (three lines total) to the more fleshed-out "This Is the House That Jack Built," this classic Mother Goose collection will delight children, especially when read aloud. Though the rhymes will certainly be familiar (how many times have you seen tiny baby toes and launched into "This little piggy went to market..."?), this edition has a fresh new look. Colorful illustrations by eight different artists--ranging from the quiet, pastel tones of "Rock-a-Bye Baby" to the more boisterous style of "Jack Sprat"--accompany the text of this fine volume. The Classic Mother Goose is sure to become a treasured and perhaps tattered favorite. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Steam-powered life.
This book is a good expansion to the Dragon Mech game.Full of interesting new steam powers, prestiege classes, and a new core class, the Steamborg Mark II.If you're looking to incorporate more steam tech into your Dragon Mech game, or looking to make your Steamborg unique, this book is a good buy.The feats are pretty interesting, and offer some fun options. Also there is a new race, the Tik-Toks.While interesting I felt that the Tik-Toks, like a lot of the material in the Dragon Mech setting were not fleshed out enough. All in all, a good buy. If you're interested in a campaign with more in-depth look at steam tech, and a more fleshed out setting in general check out the Iron Kingdoms books by Privateer Press. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Not the Bible of PUA, but ok
I almost never bought this book because of the previous reviews, but as someone who is an introvert who needs all the help he can when it comes to being comfortable in public with women, I gave it a shot. It's not as bad as you might think. The author goes into detail about the thought and meaning behind studying body language and then explains what things to look for (what are good signs and what things women do when they aren't interested in you).

I do feel like the author was trying to cram three books in one and wished he had spent more time on topic rather than giving me a taste of many. But then again, it was a quick read and I did learn a thing or two.

5-0 out of 5 stars For a complete novice to understanding women
Even though I was a little put off by the title, I wanted to get a book that would help me understand what a woman was thinking or feeling just by the way she carried herself. I know there are many books about body language out there, but this one was written for someone in my situation.

It was a short read (which I liked). And I did learn some things from it. The author explains how to tell if a woman is comfortable in your presence and the things you can do (without saying anything) that can make her feel comfortable.

I liked that the author didn't leave me with the impression that reading body language was some sort of mind trick. For me, I just want to have an idea of what is going on before I put myself in a situation where I might be rejected. I feel like I got enough information from this book to get a sense of what to look for. For that, I rate it five stars.

1-0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title
I was excited to receive this book based on the title, the description and the two or three positive reviews that had been posted.(These reviews appear to have been removed now.)Upon opening the box and pulling out the book, I was struck by how thin it was.Amazon shows this book being 144 pages long. It's actually 126 pages, not including the six or so pages at the end advertising other books by the publisher. The other thing I immediately noticed was the lack of illustrations (not including the advertisements mentioned previously). It struck me as rather odd that a book on body language would not have any illustrations.

Unfortunately, this is NOT a book on body language as I was led to believe. It does briefly instruct you on how to stand up straight (i.e. practice by standing with a wall to your back while looking in the mirror), and how to walk. The walking part was my favorite...you should walk quickly so you stand out, but you should periodically look behind you in case there are women following you.I swear it said that!

The book quickly devolves into a mishmash of peacocking, NLP, and "hypnosis" (a chapter which is actually about reframing). For a book that is subtitled, "How to Seduce a Woman Without Words", the author spends an inordinate amount of time discussing words.

Bad buy...epic failure...avoid.

2-0 out of 5 stars Not worth the buy, and this is why...
In elementary school I was always told "never judge a book by it's cover." Well, I did judge this book by its cover, and it looks good. Problem is, while the ideas and recommendations in this book are all good, it is not a book that focuses on body language like it would lead its potential readers to believe.

After reading the first chapter, I thought that this would be a great buy, but I was quickly let down. For a book on body language, the author gets into peacocking, getting phone numbers, and dealing with rejection. While these are all great subjects to read if someone is wanting to get into the pick-up community, I was not expecting these subjects in a book that is supposed to talk about body language.

I gave this book two stars for one reason, and one reason alone. Most of the ideas in this book look like they come from another book that goes much more into detail on most, if not all, of the subjects. I recommend Mystery's The Mystery Method. I will not go into a review on that book now, but you should consider looking into it.

I have been looking for a book that focuses on body language in a non-business setting. Looks like the wait continues after I wasted my money. If this author comes out with a book that does focus on body language and goes more in detail than the common sense; brush your teeth, comb your hair, shower, etc... I would seriously consider buying.

Trust me, you would do better to spend your money in another way. ... Read more

Excerpt: Zali Steggall (born 16 April 1974 in Sydney) is Australia's most internationally successful alpine skier, winning a bronze medal in slalom at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, and a World Championship gold medal in 1999. Steggall's long Olympic career extended from Albertville in 1992 to Salt Lake City in 2002. Later in her career Steggall was unable to fully adapt to the new slalom skis. Born in Manly, New South Wales, she and her family lived in France from 1978 until 1988, and she started ski racing while living there, at the ski resort of Morzine in the French Alps. Her parents had intended to stay for only 18 months, but they liked the lifestyle so much that they stayed. She came from a sporting family; her grandfather played ten Tests for Australia in rugby union. She and elder brother Zeke grew up on the snow. Steggall won a European age championship at the age of 10, improved to be a member of the French junior skiing team at the age of 14. Steggall was educated in Sydney at the Queenwood School for Girls following the family's return to Australia. Despite moving back to Australia, the Steggall siblings regularly travelled to the northern hemisphere to train. She was also sent overseas by the Australian Ski Institute to train under Austrian alpine coach Helmut Spiegl. Steggall was selected to make her Olympic debut in Albertville in 1992, at the age of 18. She came 23rd out of 44 entries in the giant slalom event, and failed to finish the slalom or the combined event. At the 1994 O...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=3342463 ... Read more

Excerpt: John Myung (pronounced ) (born on January 24, 1967 in Chicago, Illinois) is a bassist, Chapman Stick player and a founding member of the progressive metal group Dream Theater. Born in Chicago to Korean parents, Myung grew up in Kings Park, Long Island, New York. He played the violin from the age of five until he was asked to play electric bass in a local band when he was fifteen. After graduating from high school he and his high school friend John Petrucci enrolled at the Berklee College of Music, where they met future bandmate Mike Portnoy. The three of them formed the band Majesty with another friend from high school, keyboardist Kevin Moore and vocalist Chris Collins. The band would later change its name to Dream Theater. Though Dream Theater is his primary focus musically, he has appeared in a number of other projects through his career. His first non-Dream Theater venture was in the pop-prog band Platypus with Rod Morgenstein, Ty Tabor and ex-Dream Theater bandmate Derek Sherinian. He is also a member of The Jelly Jam, which consists of the same line-up as Platypus, but without Sherinian. Apart from his membership in these bands, he has appeared as a guest on numerous records. He also played keyboards in the spoof band Nightmare Cinema as Juice Malouse. Myung's main influences include Chris Squire, Steve Harris, Geddy Lee and Cliff Burton, and their res...More: http://booksllc.net/?id=469030 ... Read more
