Things you need to know about Mr. Sting
Just finished book and loved it... Lots of neat things about his younger life and how he made it and paid his dues.. Easyreading, written well from a "smart man/singer/songwriter/teacher/artist/husband/father/friend/"

Excellent Read
A long-time fan of his music, I recently picked this book up at a Sting Symphonicity concert. Both my husband and I enjoyed reading the story of his life immensely. Sting writes his own life story in a manner worthy of his songwriting and singing. Immensely warm, honest and full of emotion. I especially enjoyed the authentic and reflective quality of his tale. It made me feel like I now know him a bit...his story-- of becoming aware of one's familial baggage, personal dreams, the struggle for achievement, approval...all very much a part of the human struggle and story.

Excellent Book
When I first picked up this book, admittedly I had approached it from the perspective of being a longtime fan of both Sting and The Police. This book chronicles his childhood years leading up to the formation of The Police in exceptional detail, revealing some very personal information in a beautifully written style. His road was a hardfought one in which he draws the reader in as only a great writer could. It is such a striking piece of work, that I for one hope he releases more. Sting is clearly not just a great composer and lyricist, but also is a great writer, period. This book is not only an excellent read for music fans, but also for people who just want something great to read. I highly recommend it.

The Most Entertaining and Endearing Rock Biography I've Read
I love biographies and autobiographies of rock stars.I have read dozens of them.This is by far the best one yet.Not because I am a huge fan of Sting's music.I like it okay, but he is not my favorite artist by a long shot, but despite this I am telling you right now that this is a very interesting, insightful, entertaining and down right hilarious book to read.I highly recommend it!It has all of the elements you are looking for in a book of this genre.I couldn't put it down and I found myself laughing out loud frequently throughout.Also, I have to say that my respect for Sting as an artist and as a man went up tremendously and I found myself downloading lots of his music after reading this delightful book. Well done Sting!!

Well written, fascination path of an artist
Fascinating read.I grew up listening to The Police and Stings solo stuff as well.This book could be dry in parts, but I think it's honest and deeply interesting.If you think that Sting lead some easy path to stardom and being a singer/songwriter, then you are simply wrong and should read this book.He had a path in life that was predictably boring for him and easily followed in England (office deskjob, teacher), but risked everything in order to find the thread of a more artistic life.Sting met random people, took chances and made decisions on gut instinct that led him down his path.He was always looking for the instruction book to success, but after searching, knew there wasn't one.He had to invent his own.(Like we all do)

Spy Games
There is a lot to like about this book, and much to dislike.To begin with, it is an interesting and diverting plot, reminiscent of all the Cold War novels of the past, albeit set in present-day circumstances.However, the characters seem wooden, caricatures filling in the blanks."Moscow Sting" is the sequel to "Red to Black," with Anna Resnikov, the KGB Colonel who defected to the West to marry the assassinated former MI6 agent Finn, again playing a major role.

It seems everyone wants to find Anna who was hidden in the south of France with her two-year-old son by the French security arm, and is discovered accidentally by an ex-CIA agent who tries to sell her whereabouts for half a million dollars to the Russians, English and Americans.She and her son are "rescued" by a private United States intelligence company headed by a larger-than-life personage, who takes them to the U.S. to "debrief" her.The reason she is so important is the relationship Finn had with Mikhail, an informant extremely close to Vladimir Putin, and who she presumably knows.

George Washington warned against "foreign entanglements" and Dwight Eisenhower against the military-industrial establishment.However, this novel provides strong reason to distrust the intelligence community, whether public like the CIA or MI6, or private.Each has its shortcomings, with the latter only driven by self-interest which can be as disastrous as, perhaps, the demonstrated ineptness of employees of the official agencies.Written at a fast pace, the tale more often than not is exciting and enlightening, despite its shortcomings.

A fun read!
Fairly typical spy fare but a good read nonetheless. One side plot (about the hitman) did not seem to go anywhere but otherwise there a twists and turns to hold your attention.

Pretty good spy novel
I enjoyed this book. The pacing is crisp and the author is in control of the plot, which has plenty of twist and turns as a good thriller should. On the other hand, I found most of the characters to be pretty flat and two dimensional. I can't rate the book down too much for that as very few spy novelists do better in that regard. It's a good quick read that recalls the cold war era well.

An intelligent espionage thriller
Moscow Sting is a highly entertaining and intelligent book that leads the reader through former KGB Colonel Anna Resnikov's enlistment in a private security firm, though not exactly through means of her choosing, all the way to the final showdown resulting from an intelligent chase.

Set in numerous locales, including Europe, the American Southwest, New York, and Washington, DC, this book has all the makings of a classic.

The strengths of this book lie in the events that Dryden describes - everything from clandestine meetings behind a gym to a shootout, attention to detail really draws the reader in.The only weakness is that Dryden doesn't develop characters too deeply; he lets their actions show the way - we know precious little about Resnikov, but we do know a lot about what she does and how she accomplishes her goals.Despite this minor shortcoming, the book is most enjoyable and gets a hearty "must read" from me.

A Spine Chilling KGB Tale
I love discovering espionage authors whose work is well written and riveting.So, I was thrilled to read "Moscow Sting" by Alex Dryden.The novel is a sequel to "Red to Black," which I have determined I must now read, as well.

In the style of the best of John LeCarre, Alan Furst and Robert Ludlum, Dryden weaves a tale that involves a woman who was the first female KGB Colonel.She alone knows the identity of a double agent who is being sought be all sides - the British, the French, the Americans and the Russians.Throw in a powerful private security agency headed by a former CIA senior official, and you have the ingredients for a tasty literary bouillabaisse.

As the action springs from Paris to Provence to New York and Washington and remote corners of the American Southwest desert, betrayal piles upon betrayal.Anna, the protagonist and KGB Colonel proves to be an intriguing and fully sympathetic figure who uses her beauty and brains in memorable ways to protect herself, her child, and the mysterious Mikhail.

I loved this book and can't wait to read more from Dryden.

Wonderful!
Sting admits he hesitated to publish the lyrics, apart from the music. But with his brief introductions, they are quite strong, and quite beautiful on their own.

Excelent
The book is excellent and from Sting's own words, is poetry in your hands at the moment you acquire it and not only that, the design of the cover is amazing, a delicate and transparent photo of Sting over his own words printed on the cover, for me a perfect combination of delicacy, elegance and sensitivity that comes with the inspired lyrics of his songs. I have to say that is very interesting to know why and how a song is inspired, how it became a reality and how it is considered by his own author then and now. Furthermore as Sting is my favourite artist this book increase my sense of admiration to him. However it is a pity not having all these stories for all the songs, just some of them, indeed some of my favourites don't have one ... However I don't regret having bought this book and can read it whenever my soul needs to be fed.

Entertaining Read
It is a quick, entertaining read.It also gives you a view of a constant in the criminal world of ripping each other off; which is more common than one would think.

Incredible, Outrageous, Suspenseful, and TRUE!!!
Holy Cow, I couldn't put this book down!I am not a huge reader but this book had me on pins and needles from the get go.I finished it in 2 days!!!

From the beginning stings as a regular joe, to the stings when he was a legit cop, to stinging the FEDS when they were trying to sting him, I never been on such and emotional roller coaster!

There was sex, money, cool cars, celebrities, outlaws, politics, drugs, prison, and even video arcades!This book has it all and it's all so interesting!I don't see how anyone couldn't find this entertaining to say the least.And then all the while you are reading you have it in the back of your head that this is a TRUE STORY!

I can't recommend this book enough!!!

I also PRAY that a movie is made about this or some network like HBO or Showtime picks it up to make a series.

Radio Rock Star
I heard Craig Glazer on the radio in the Detriot area. I must have listened to him for at least an hour. At first I thought he was an actor from the movies talking about his role in a movie called The King of Sting....then I realized he was the real guy! Mr. Glazer you should have your own radio show...you have an incredible voice. I bought the book and it more than lived up to my expectations. If this book does not become a movie something is very very wrong!!!!!

What an amazing story. That's all I can say. I cannot believe the life this guy has lived. The book is well written, harsh at times, but what would you expect? You're rooting for him because although he's not living the most morally correct life, but he's the good bad guy, trying to get rid of the actual bad guys for most of the book. Unfortunately bad
Just for the record, I've been a big fan for years and have read a multitude of Dr Who books, and still will.So it kind of bugs me that this book is so bad.
The plot is basically a rehash of the Tom Baker episode, but takes place a few decades before this.So you'd think that the Zygons wouldn't have tried the same strategy that had failed before, in this book, by the time, on the time line, that they meet up with the fourth doctor.
Plus the portrayal of this doctor within the book is just over done exclamations of "brilliant" and such things, and everything the doctor says can be traced to an on air episode.No originality what so ever. So by doing this, the writer did not capture the personality or character of the Doctor or Martha at all, besides repeating lines from a random script.
I'd suggest don't waste your money.There are much better Who books out there

GOOD: Plot is ok, Zygons are pretty cool, Doctor and Martha are good (but not great). Other char. are allright.

BAD: In some parts it's a bit slow and some parts seems "repeated".

SUGGESTED: Yes, if you are a Doctor Who fan, but not as first book of the series.

The book was very good and enjoyment to read. I would suggest it to anyone who is a Doctor Who fan.

A Great Story
Now, I've reviewed four of the new adventures with Martha and 10th Doctor, and this is my favourite so far by a long way. It feels very much like an old series adventure, and very in tune with the original Tom Baker one as well. Stephen Cole used the length of the story (2h 20min on audio) to good effect, and there is surprisingly little padding.

The supporting characters were good (some not so good, some better), and the villains were actually quite good in this one. Although the shape changing is overused a bit, it helps distinguish this race from other monsters.

The Doctor and Martha actually gets quite a lot to do, and there's very few Deus Ex Machina plot points in this story. Even the resolution was good, and I think that the historical setting is a good way to ground the story's background so the author can concentrate on other things.

Overall, a good story, the best of the new adventures I've encountered so far.

Old Enemy, New Doctor
The Tenth Doctor and companion Martha battle Zygons in England's Lake District in 1909.

If my basic plot summary sounds ho-hum, it's not meant to.It is not easy to resurrect old monsters (the Zygons first appeared in the 1975 Tom Baker adventure "Terror the Zygons"), much less keep them true to form while still making them fresh and interesting.Stephen Cole has done a good job; he's crafted a tale that, while firmly rooted in the "new" Doctor Who style, evokes fond memories of the "classic" era.

Very thought provoking but not entirely satisfying
I found this short book n death, which is a transcript of radio talks given by the late Fr Schmemann to be very thought provoking and striking - his imagery of the "cosmic cemetery" being a case in point. Schmemann reminded me of CS Lewis.

He is excellent in showing the absolute horror of death ("The last enemy to be destroyed is death" 1 Cor 15:26), something to which we should not at all get accustomed or reconciled because its normality is abnormal to use Schmemann's language. After all, as Schmemann notes, Jesus weeps at the death of Lazarus. "To live in a cosmic cemetery and to "dispose" every day of thousands of corpses and to get excited about a "just" society and to be happy! - this is the fall of man."

Schmemann shows a contrast between the platonic idea of the soul escaping the body on death and entering into the life of rest with the materialist for whom this life is everything. He shows that both positions are wrong - the first is wrong because it fails to appreciate the beauty of creation in which man was designed to find his fulfilment in God; the second provides us with no hope whatsoever. The Christian faith is built on the annihilation of death in Christ's victorious resurrection. I found Schmemann's discussion of the fall to be particularly illuminating, his understanding that in choosing to eat of the forbidden fruit, man turned towards that which was transitory (Man subjected himself to food - he wanted life not from God but for and through himself) and turned towards the world for himself and in itself rather than seeing the world as the means by which man communes with God.
He is also excellent on precisely what is the meaning of resurrection reminding us that all the cells in the body are replaced every seven years (there is nothing specifically personal about atoms, he notes) - so the meaning of our bodies resurrecting should be understood in terms of us having spiritual bodies through which we will again enter into communion with God and each other for it is only through bodies that we can enter into communion, as human beings.

Schmemann also dispels the notion that Christianity is a "comfort" religion, rightly pointing out that a religion whose founder is crucified and who calls his disciples (i.e. us) to fall in his footsteps and take up our own crosses is hardly a comforting religion in the sense that it is not designed to take away suffering but rather that through suffering we can become like our Divine Master.

Criticisms

I found his message to be not entirely satisfying. How precisely am I to feel about death as I can feel the disintegration of death working in me. I agree it's abnormal and should never be but how concretely should I relate to it? I think the difficulty with the book lies in the Orthodox understanding of what happens after death. As I understand it, the Orthodox believe that our souls enter into a dormition or sleep. But how can the obvious fear and non-acceptance of death be trumped by a hoped for suspended animation - even if it is only until the end of time! And how does this square with St Paul exclaiming: "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain" (Phil 1:21) (One of my all time favourite St Paul statements) quoted at page 85 of the book. In a curious way the Orthodox approach seems to make the platonic view of things more attractive than the Christian one. Further would St Paul who communed with the Lord and was taken into the highest heavens in one of his mystical experience prefer death (leading to mere suspended dormition)to life. As a Catholic I cannot square this. Catholic belief is that on death our souls separate from the bodies, we are judged individually and we enter into beatitude or into hell. If in heaven, we see God face to face but there is still something lacking, our completeness awaits the resurrection of the dead. With such a belief, I can accept that death is the means through which I see the face of my Divine Master and that gives me a fair degree of excitement - what is suffering compared to that? But how would feel if I were an Orthodox - I have no idea!

We've all been wrong about death... and life!
I own an entire book case filled with works of Orthodox theology and devotional works, but if I had to keep only four or five of them, I would include this little volume among them. Fr. Schmemann is well-known to Orthodox Christians for his eloquent and inspiring writing on a wide range of topics, but this book is open and accessible to any Christian.

The title may be misleading to some, as this is definitely NOT intended to be a "feel-good" or consoling book for people facing death (as do we all) or serious illness (having had HIV for over 21 years, I have been exposed to a plethora of such dubious comfort). Rather, it is to be understood in the context of Christian Faith and more specifically, the Paschal message of resurrection.

Fr. Schmemann explodes the commonly-accepted but erroneous view that Christianity preaches the "immortality of the soul" in the sense of a disembodied spirits who somehow "go to heaven," some mysterious ethereal place of which no one has any knowledge whatsoever. "Christ did not talk about the immortality of the soul," he says, "he preached about the resurrection of the dead!"* He traces our modern conception not to Christ, but to Plato, and his outlook is refreshing, positive, and inspiring.

"He's in a better place," we so often hear of those beloved family and friends who have died. And yet, what better place can there be than the world that God has created, ultimately to be restored from its fallen state to what he intended it to be? Fr. Schmemann uses the story of the raising of Lazarus (Gospel of St. John, Chapter 11) to illustrate this and debunk our commonly-held misconception. When Christ encounters the grieving Martha, she tells him "if you had been here, my brother would not have died." So what does he respond? That death is natural, and that Lazarus is in a "better place?" No, he weeps! And then he goes on to pull Lazarus back from that supposed "better place" to this terrible, earthly place. Fr. Schmemann helps to reveal to us the true and terrible nature of death, as well as the hope that Christ offers, "trampling down death by death," as Orthodox Christians proclaim at the Paschal services.

Death is not natural, nor part of God's plan. Death is not something "to come to terms with." There is no reconciling with death; death is rotten to the core. "Death is," as St. Paul says, "the last enemy to be destroyed."

"The Resurrection of Christ comprises, I repeat, the very heart of the Christian faith and Christian Good News. And yet, however strange it may sound, in the everyday life of Christianity and Christians in our time there is little room for this faith. It is as though obscured, and the contemporary Christian, without being cognizant of it, does not reject it, but somehow skirts about it, and does not live the faith as did the first Christians. If he attends church, he of course hears in the Christian service the ever resounding joyous confirmations: "trampling down death by death," "death is swallowed up by victory," "life reigns," and "not one dead remains in the grave." A Great Book
I have two children 5 and 9 years old, and with children this age there are constant "ouchies."We borrowed this book from the library two days ago, and have already used it several times with my 5 year old to look up "scratches and cuts" and last night, a bloody nose.I agree with the other "comment" that sometimes it is just the fear of the unknown is what is most upsetting.In the book, one of the suggestions for bloody nose was an accupressure point, that I was unaware of.Since my 5 year old does occasionally get bloody noses, we will try this suggestion next time.Although we borrowed it from the library, we will now purchase it!I highly recommend it!

informative, fun to read
This book is exactly what it says - it is written in a kid friendly way, with great examples and how-tos, and interesting information.

Too much for younger kids, too simple for older kids.
This was a pretty good book - I almost gave it 4 stars.The book has some useful info and the advice is sound (based on other 1st aid books I've read), so I don't think it would be a waste of anyone's money.The stated reading level is 9-12 but I felt it was a little too ambitious for most kids under 12 and too simple for kids over 12.I read this book to my 7 year old and most of it was over her head and had too many "steps".MY 12 year old also read it and she too thought there were too many "steps" in the instructions on what to do in an emergency.The sections in each chapter called "GET HELP!" were confusing to both kids.If you're looking for a Safety/1st Aid book for someone under 12 I would highly recommend "The Safety Book for Active Kids" (also sold by Amazon).If the reader is someone over 12 then a Red Cross First Aid Course and an adult first aid manual might be a better use of your money.

You are never to young to learn!
I have 2 young children (ages 5 and 9 yrs old) myself and helping them understand what happens to their bodies when they hurt themselves is tough to do. Not to mention what to do when they are injured. Sometimes it is more "scared about the unknown" than anything. This book really helps the child research and learn how their bodies tell them when they are hurt and how to take care of the simpler injuries themselves. Plus,the format of the book draws them into learning about their bodies before an injury occurs. The illustrations are funny and help drive the points home in a kids kind of way. 4.5 Futuristic Erotica
The Story
Harry Marshal is a undercover cop investigating Cain, a bondage club owner, suspected of running drugs. While at the club, Cain strings up his ex-girlfriend and he is about to whip her under the influence. Harry has no choice but to step in. He likes Sandine and doesn't want her hurt. From the moment they lock eyes they have electric chemistry. Harry agrees to help Sandine get back her priceless Tarot Cards her mother left her, but Cain stole.

Thoughts
This book was very fast paced. It is set in the future and D'sdaine is the drug of choice. The chemistry and relationship between Sandine and Harry is electric and real. I liked the premise and the other characters. This was the first book I read by this author. It was left open at the end for two of the other characters in the book, don't know if there will be a sequel. The world was interesting and the book kept me entertained.

Weird Timelines
This book was hot, I won't deny it. However, the weird time lines in the story kept pulling me away. {Spoilers ahead} It's like futuristic, but no background is laid out if it's 5 / 20 / 100 / 1000 years in the future. For example, sexually transmitted diseases are eliminated - 10 years before, the bad guy is hooked to this weird drug (but there's no comparison to existing drugs so there's no idea how strong/weak it is), there are laws against growing your own fruit in your yard, etc... There were little inconsistencies that constantly shook me out of the book. In reality, it just felt like lazy writing because of the lack of time & space reference.
If you're willing to over look those inconsistencies, then its an ok & hot book.

Couldn't Put It Down
This is a great story and all the more amazing because it actually happened. I'm surprised that no one has made a movie from this book. The story shows how incredible individuals acting on their bravery, wits and skills can outwit the military machine. Could not put this book down.

A Must Read
Mark Ryan's fast-paced story of World War Two Danish spy Thomas Sneum is a classic. Accurate chord book! And that is rare!
Great and accurate.Not like most books that often do not even get the key correct. The chords are very close if not exact. It is so rare that one of these books actually nail the chords better than your ear can.This is one of the few guitar chord books I have used, and not had to go to my ear to get a better sounding rendition.Worth it.Small, cheap, easy, accurate. Why cant they all do this?It's not rocket science. I wonder if copyright issues prevent accurate published renditions, or is it laziness, etc...?Who knows.....but this one is good!

Last Word on Schwinn Sting Ray Series - A New Printing PLEASE !
I bought this book new when it came out and lost it and look how valuable now. The reason is only one printing and much demand has driven the price of used copies into the statoshpere because so well done and packed with rare photos and information.I owned a red 1973 Scwhinn 5 Speed Sting-Ray as a child and most of the kids in my school drove Schwinns and mine remains the best gift I ever got from my father.The bikes were costly even then but worth it, I recall my friend had a Hawthrone bike from Montgomery Ward that rusted away after 2 years, mine lasted and there was trade-in value afterwards.I wish this book were back in print so I could afford another copy!

Good, But Not Great
I have no idea if the author, Liz, is male or female. The author's gender is not relevant.I call this book good but not great because it takes a fluff and fold approach to the topic and really never progresses beyond the level of casual when it comes to research.If you are interested in the subject of Schwinn Stingrays you will find this book informative but not all that well written.If you are a collector of Stingrays then you probably already know most of this book's content simply having spent time reading the different online forums that cover the topic of Schwinn bicycles in general.What would have moved this book beyond the casual level would have been, at the very least, a year by year break down of the different models with a comprehensive overview of the many production changes and differences that Schwinn chose to incorporate between 1963 and 1982. Unfortunately most of this information remains esoteric as it is enjoyed only by a small collection of very dedicated enthusiasts.For a comparison read a copy of "Original Porsche 911" by Peter Morgan and the difference between a serious reference work and Fried's book will become quite clear.
What Fried covers instead is the broader overview of Stingray production and interweaves some relevant information of the social climate in which the Stingray was conceived and produced.For those that grew up during the 60's and 70's it will be a pleasant walk down memory lane.For other readers those passages of the text will seem less than important unless they dream of living in the 60's.Overall Fried's approach and skill as a writer tends to wander. The content does repeat at times and the entire text shows the earmarks of being self-edited. Overall the book deserves a place on the shelf of anyone interested in the Stingray not only as a unique, trend-setting bicycle but as the social icon it has deservedly become. In the end Fried's book does provide the Schwinn Stingray with that.If for no other reason buy a copy now while they are still affordable.I doubt this book will ever be republished.

Correction of previous review
I have a copy of this book in my hands.If you read the preface, you will know that the author is a woman.Furthermore, the Library of Congress catalog record for this book indicates that she was born in 1964.I doubt she was designing Schwinn bicycles at the age of one or two.And I feel pretty safe in saying that she probably wasn't the Vice President of the company at that age either.

This is a great book for collectors and enthusiasts of Sting-Ray bicycles.Great photos and histories.

Marvel C-lister getting no respect...
The Black Widow was a Marvel character created in the '60s. She bounced around as a villain for Iron Man, love interest for Hawkeye, and was one of the features of the new Marvel anthology, Amazing Adventures.

This book reproduces Tales of Suspense #52 (her introduction), Spider-Man #86 (where she adopts a new look/costume), Amazing Adventures #1-#8 (her brief, unsuccessful feature), and Daredevil #81 (starting her relationship with that character).

What is clear is that the Black Widow wasn't able to carry a book by her lonesome; she worked best as a supporting character. There was probably potential there but there were a number of writing/art changes over the 8 issues which killed any possible momentum.

The reproduction is substandard also. The Amazing Adventures covers are horrid. Fortunately we should see them reproduced much better when the Inhumans Masterwork comes out in a few months. The AA stories themselves are hit and miss reproduction wise, some look fine, others not so much.

In short, I can only recommend this book if you're a diehard Marvel completist, as the AA stories are unlikely to be reprinted again. Otherwise, give this one a miss.

Black Widow: The Sting of the Widow Premiere HC/ Poor Reproduction-Avoid
The issues taken from the Marvel Masterworks files (Tales of Suspense #52, Spider-Man #86) look fine. Awesome
The Sting of the Scorpion by Franklin W. Dixon is a great example of a Hardy Boy book.It is about a new dirigible that is being sabotaged. Also an animal park owner is being pressured to sell out.Can the Hardy boys stop the evil Scorpio gang in time?Franklin W. Dixon writes nothing but mystery stories.People who like suspence would love this book. I give this book 5 stars.

One Blast of a Mystery!!!...by David House
One blast of a mystery!I can't beleive that other reveiwers don't like this book at all!(maybe they're mystery haters...no offense.) The Sorpion Sting is about when the Hardy Boys find the Safari Queen drop two things out of the sky.A small object that exploded, and a elephent that also explodes.The Hardys go an investigate and can't because of the gaurd's orders not to let them in.The Hardy Boys later find themselves scrambling in another mystery.The rest I have no time to tell because I going to Sandiego to compete in a Teakwondo(karate)tournament in an hour.Make sure you this book carefully.(if you haven't)

Very Boring
Frank and Joe try to find out who is trying to sabotage both the owner of an animal/amusement park and the owner of a blimp manufacturing company.Mr. Hardy tracks down a gang of terrorists.There really wasn't much to this book.The plot was boring and unoriginal.The action was almost impossible to find and the story dragged on throughout most of the book.The only good thing that I could say about this book was that the Hardys stayed in Bayport for a change and all of their friends were included in the book.In my opinion, this is probably the 4th or 5th worst book of the hardcover editions.Only buy this one if you want to complete your set.

The Author Forgot Something
Frank and Joe help the owner of a local animal/amusement park and the owner of a blimp manufacturing company when unknown enemies threaten to ruin their businesses.Mr. Hardy tracks down a terrorist group.I think the author forgot to include something in this book, like a plot.The book doesn't really seem to be about all that much.What story there is, is incredibly boring and terribly unoriginal.The book is lacking in both action and excitement.Only about 2 or 3 of the chapter endings made me want to read more and I found that I wanted to get through the book only to be finished with it.The title of the book is not very appropriate.The terrorist group is called the Scorpio gang, but they could have been called the Barbie doll gang with little rewriting of the story.The whole book is uninteresting, don't waste your time reading it.

This book indeed ranks among the worst in the series and gets my vote for one of the 10 worst. It has none of what we expect from the Hardy Boys. There is no suspense, no adventure and very little mystery. At least the brothers are in around Bayport for a change. The volume was lackluster. The artwork was disgusting. The bestbook ever
I would recommend Hank the Cow Dog Case of the Double Bumblebee Sting because it's funny.Hank thinks two bumblebees have bitten him but it ends up that it was a rattlesnake.His face swells up like a balloon.He says, "It weighs 250 pounds".Drover keeps on saying that it was a rattlesnake, but Hank will be Hank - stubborn as a donkey.Hank keeps on saying, "it was 2 bumblebees in that pipe".Drover just goes with the flow and says "OK".I recommend this book to you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This book is about a dog named Hank. Hank lives on a ranch, and is head of ranch security. Drover is another dog that live on the ranch. In this book Hank gets bit by a rattlesnake, but he thinks it's a bumble bee. Sally May his owner takes him to the vet to get a shot. In the end Hank finally get's better. I reccomend this because it's funny and thrilling to read.

Doggone good Book
Having been born and raised on a cattle ranch(not in Texas however)there is so much to relate to in the Hank books, we have rattlesnakes too, and learn to look very carefully before reaching for anything lying around in the summertime.My 8 year old loves me to read the Hank books to him,(I do a real good Drover) soon we both become part of the story, and lose track of time. Even if you've never had a cowdog, or lived on a ranch, you'll love this book, but if you have,you'll be hooked for life on Hank the Cowdog! We are.

The Case of The Double Bumble Bee Sting saved my life on a long trip. Of course, it almost ended it too. I almost ran off the road laughing as Hank tries to talk to the buzzards about his swollen head. Don't miss this one!Your kids will love it and adults will too.

One of the most entertaining, laugh out loud Hank books ever
Of all the dog heroes in the world Hank is by far our favorite.He takes his job as head of ranch security very seriously.It's funny but also touching to see Hank strive to maintain his dignity as he suffers theconsequences of inserting his nose (in a pipe) before putting his brain ingear. I have read Hank books with my kids for years and this one had metaking more time outs for laughing than any of the others. Quite useful, yet...
I find this sheetbook quite useful.Needless to say, if you don't have the album don't bother with it.However it contains some fine music and it is excellent excercise too. Still I find a repeating problem with all ofSting's sheetbooks.They all seem like adapted versions of the songs, nothow they're really played.So if you find the bass riff in the begginingof "Fields of gold" unlike the original, it is because it isoriginally played by the horn, and so on...Still, It's worth it.
