5-0 out of 5 stars Calloway's back and he's better than ever
Like its predecessor, Psi/Net, Just/In Time focuses on remote viewer and former psychic spy, Trent Calloway. At the behest of his ex-wife a spokesperson for the White House (whom he still loves) Calloway reluctantly agrees to investigate Justin Logos, a controversial New Age style cult leader, and a man proclaimed by some as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. Authors Williams and MacGregor cleverly make use of time travel and alternate realities in creating a story that keeps you enthralled from first page to last. I highly recommend this book as a really great read, and hope that there will be another Trent Calloway adventure soon.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun and enjoyable read
Camila Hidalgo is the presidential press secretary. She was once married to Trent Calloway, a CIA remote psychic viewer, but divorced him because hewas never home. Eventually, Trent resigned from his espionage job to becomea riverboat guide in the Southwest. Though they still love one another, they have not seen each other in six years.

However, suddenly Camilawaits for Trent to return from a rafting trip. Her bosses want him topsychically spy on Justin Logan, a healer some claim is the Messiah, andthe man's patron Melissa Dahl. Trent refuses to invade Justin's privacy, but soon regrets his decision as Melissa unleashes three deadly viruses inthe nation's capital that kill many people including Camila. Trent must goback in time to fix what he could have prevented the first timearound.

JUST IN TIME is just incredible as a tongue in cheek look atremote psychic espionage. Billy Dee Williams and Rob MacGregor bring amodern day "Get Smart" satire of the spy novel that will pleasethose readers who enjoy an amusing thriller. Besides those who gainpleasure from strong doses of irony, new Age enthusiasts will relish thistale.

Product Description
On November 12, 1995 the CIA issued a report admitting that military and intelligence services had used psychics for spying or "remote viewing". Project Stargate, as it was called, is the premise of this nerve-jangling thriller.

Former Air Force Major Trent Calloway just wants to forget about his past, especially the tragedy that changed his life when he was involved in a government remote viewing project. With his marriage ruined in the aftermath of his psychic spying, he wanders the Southwest, occasionally guiding river rafting tours. And then suddenly his painful past returns and threatens to damage him again.

He finds out that he had been drugged during his remote viewing sessions and that the drug, now years later, is causing ever increasing side-effects in himself and the other government psychic spies he worked with - and that their psychic abilities are still expanding at frightening rates.

He realizes that the unknown drug he and the other psychic spies unwillingly took has bound them all together in a deadly psychic nexus, a "PSI net", that has trapped Callaway, who must now fight for his life and his sanity as he struggles for the security of the United States and its people.
Amazon.com Review
Billy Dee Williams is a modern Renaissance man. Anaccomplished stage, television, and screen actor, he's best known toscience fiction fans as Lando Calrissian of The Empire StrikesBack and Return of the Jedi. He's also a painter whoseworks have been shown across the U.S. and are part of the NationalGallery's permanent collection. Now he has teamed up with Edgar awardwinner Rob MacGregor (Prophecy Rock andmany others) to write PSI/Net, an account of psychic warfareset against the background of an America facing a possible schism.

In reality, the CIA revealed in 1995 that it performed experiments in"remote viewing"--psychic spying. This is the jumping-off point forthe novel. Trent Calloway is a (fictional) retired member of theproject whose quiet life as a river-rafting tour guide is disrupted bya vision of Washington D.C. destroyed by a nuclear bomb. Soon he'sswept into a secret war against the Freedom Nation--separatists tiedto the militia movement who want to carve their own country out of thewestern United States. Calloway labors to psychically observe FreedomNation's operatives and try to learn their plans, but Freedom Nationretains its own psychics--also former CIA operatives--whose job is toconceal their campaign and disrupt Calloway's efforts. He and hisenemies play a mental game of cat and mouse using remote viewing, precognition, and mind control that becomes more deadly with eachchapter.

A tightly focused novel that spans just five days,PSI/Net is firmly grounded in real-world issues such as racerelations and federalism. Because the settings and conflicts are sorealistic and familiar, the ESP elements become entirelybelievable--they slide right in like puzzle pieces that complete thewhole, no more outlandish than helicopters or Secret Serviceagents. Anyone looking for page-turning suspense with a subtle sciencefiction twist will definitely enjoy this energeticstory. --J.B. Peck ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Slow but involving.
If anyone remembers the movie "Scanners" you can get into the story of Psi/Net. The story is kind of slow moving but I was always wondering how the story would turn out. No major action happens until nearthe end of the book. This reads more like a PG rated movie. Jedi mindtricks Mr. Williams? I'll buy the sequel to Psi/Net.

3-0 out of 5 stars An afternoon's light read
A novel set in contemporary America dealing with Radical milita groups and psychic spying.I read this book in an afternoon.I didn't find it particulary deep or ground breaking.

The plot - save the president ofthe usa - therefore save the world - is not particulary new.I've seen itin countless movies and thriller novels before.

The novel's charactersaren't badly written, but not terribly involving either.I can't say I'dbe bothered if I never picked up this book again, but I also finished itquickly which proves it's not too bad.Enjoy this book, but don't expect ahow-to psycic manual or anything too original.

4-0 out of 5 stars a wonderful and fresh read
i am not a believer of remoteviewing. however, the authorswere able to make the subjectmatter believable. the characers were truly believable. i found myself becoming more invovled as the plot thickened. this novel hastruly hightened my curiousity on the matter. the only thing i could findwrong was whentrent and ritter come to blowsit could have been juicier

5-0 out of 5 stars Award Winning Writing!
This book has now become my favorite book out of everything I have read. The book has tons of thrills and foreshadowing in it to make it so you never want to put it down. The worst thing about this book was finishingit, it was such a good book I was sad when I finished it. I hope anotherbook with the same characters or plotline comes out soon!

5-0 out of 5 stars Pure, Magical Escapism with Pupose
What a writing team Elizabeth Atkins Bowman and Billy Dee Williams make. I devoured this novel, as I have devoured Bowman's other books. I heard Bowman and Williams in a radio interview calling their creation "edu-tainment", a combination of education and entertainment. They succeed in their edu-tainment mission with Twilight. The story drew me in and swept me away while I unconsciously absorbed the subtler message about the beauty of their ideas about the harmony of blending of races and cultures. This novel is lulling in its escapism and passionate in its mission. I recommend it with honors.

5-0 out of 5 stars Winner of the WordWeaving Award for Excellence
A serial killer known only as Narcissus faxes hate letters to Judge Simone Thompson and four well-known Hollywood names. Hopefully leaving the danger behind, Simone travels to Brazil for a friend's wedding. She intensely dislikes Brazil, associating it with childhood trauma. Indeed, Simone bears a number of childhood wounds, including not knowing the identity of her father, despite repeated demands to her mother. Simone finds healing now by extending aid to orphans; unfortunately, her compassion has made her the target of a serial killer.

Brazil also brings Simone together with another target, "Sweet Sonny" D. Anthony Whittaker who is there working on his new film. An instant attraction sizzles between them, but must not be acted upon when Simone realizes he will appear in her courtroom the following week. Simone will preside over a bitter divorce hearing in which Sonny seeks custody of his young twin daughters. Meanwhile, Narcissus lurks, carefully selecting Sonny's costar for the first victim.

TWILIGHT will satisfy fans of a number of sub-genres with its romantic elements, courtroom drama, and murder. TWILIGHT sweeps readers away, from an exotic paradise to the glitter of Hollywood. Lush eroticism heightens the contrast between the growing electric attraction shared by Simone and Sonny and the danger lurking nearby. Simone presents herself as a memorable heroine as she struggles to overcome childhood trauma and extend that healing to other young victims. Sonny's desperate need to overcome his old reputation and prove his sincerity becomes fresh and original in his genuine display of love for his children. Secondary plots abound, carefully woven and sharply realized. The overall effect is mesmerizing, like the magical moment of TWILIGHT when kaleidoscope colors blend to create a moment of exquisiteness that echoes the authors' dreams of a multicultural world. A fast paced, riveting read that is impossible to put down, TWILIGHT earns the WordWeaving Award for Excellence.

4-0 out of 5 stars Steamy, Smooth, Sensual
Many times my thought is the book is much better than the movie, because the movie cannot give all the details like a book can. With Twilight, I could visualize every detail and see the movie in my mind while reading this book. It's very detailed, lots of characters, colorful imagery and a good cross of narration and dialogue.

From the Brazilian set of the movie, The Colony, to the courtroom in L.A. and back to Brazil, Judge Simone Thompson and "Sonny" Whittaker are destined to be together. They are bound by a hypnotic force on their first encounter. The judge knows who Sonny is, but he does not know her and she does not want him to know who she is, because it could jeopardize her job and his divorce/custody battle. But it seems they can not stay away from each other. They are also bound together because of a stalker named Narcissus, who has made threats to both the Judge and Sonny, along with others who are acquainted with the couple and the movie.

The second story in this book is Simone's search for her father.A person she has never known not even his name.Even after confronting her mother on numerous occasions his identity remained a secret.Once the motherdecided to reveal who the father was, she did not tell Simone, but told the father, and he used this information to discredit Simone.

While reading this novel, I could picture Billy Dee Williams as Sonny Whittaker, using that silky smooth voice of his to whisper to the judge during their hot and steamy sexual encounters, speak terms of endearment to his children and express anger and frustration to his father in law, attorney and the media. While the beginning of the book was slow, it took me about 100 pages to get into it, it picks up and the action and suspense kept my attention to the very end.

4-0 out of 5 stars Drama!
Rio Di Janeiro,a city that is famous for Carnival and the beauty of the country of Brazil, is the primary setting for Billy Dee Williams' and Elizabeth Atkins Bowman's novel. The novel is called Twilight: A Novel of Hollywood. Some other parts of the story take place in Los Angeles.

Simone Thompson should be happy. She is a successful judge in Los Angeles at the top of her career. Simone is very touched by the plight of children and their daily struggles and she utilizes her position to become an advocate for them. Even though Simone is constantly fighting battles for others, she has her own inner demons and pain to fight. The bottom line for her is that she wants to be loved. Her heart has been broken more than once and she craves happiness. However, whoever she decides to let into her life has to be someone special and will have to prove his love for her.

D. Anthony Whittaker, or Sonny as he is also known, is a successful and well known actor, who is known the world over as a playboy who likes to have a good time. However, in recent years Sonny has managed to change his ways, he has become a father and loves his twin daughters with all of his being. Due to the way he previously lived his life he becomes involved in a bitter child custody dispute with his soon to be ex-wife.

Sonny and Simone's hearts short circuit at the time that they meet. They both feel as though they have found the person that was missing in their lives. Since there is such instant attraction and some unknown force drawing them together, a relationship must be written in the stars. Unfortunately, it's not that easy. Through a cruel twist of fate Sonny's custody case is going to be before Judge Simone Thompson. When Simone learns this she is devastated, she is very principled and will not allow anyone or anything to compromise her position as a judge.

In reading this novel I felt that it had all of the elements of a great Hollywood movie. There was drama, suspense, romance, sex and backstabbing. Instead of reading a book I felt as though I was watching a very good movie. The writing team of Billy Dee Williams and Elizabeth Atkins Bowman did a wonderful job with this novel and I hope that they will have more writing projects together in the future... ... Read more
