Did I really want to know what I didn't know?
Harland Williams continues to confound those who try to put him in a category. Is he a standup comedian,an artist, a movie star, an author of children's books, an illustrator, a balladeer or a movie producer?
Now, to add to all of the above, he's just produced this slim, comedic creation of an adult book. Definitely intended for casual reading, the reader soon gets hooked and wants to keep going, so funny and absurd are some of the "facts" he presents to us. Ranging from some scatalogical (funny, but far from my favourite) facts to some laugh-out-loud Salvador-Dali like twists on everyday objects and observations to profound insights, the reader becomes convinced there is a highly intelligent - if at times immature - mind at work here. You could call it the "theatre of the absurd" on paper! And as we all know, that genre of theatre hits at some really telling truths. Let's hear more from this complex, funny mind - but next time he better get a good copy editor. Or was that all part of the joke? ... Read more
