2-0 out of 5 stars Terrible for the end user
I bought this book because I was tasked with managing our SharePoint site at work.Whenever I tried to look up something simple (adding a picture, deleting a link, etc.) I couldn't find it.I ended up searching the Internet and finding the answer.

They need to change the title of this book so that it's obvious it's for people standing up a site.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good guide for complicated product
This is a good beginners guide for a very complicated product. Not for the developer, but great for a user of the product.

1-0 out of 5 stars SharePoint for Dummies 2007
I found this book told you that you could do specific things, but as far as telling you how to do them, it either didn't tell you or wasn't clear.Definately not a step by step book.Save your money...

5-0 out of 5 stars Good quality, fast delivery
The book arrived in pristine condition and in packaging that
ensured safe shipping. Very satisfied, would use this provider
again should the need arise.

4-0 out of 5 stars Collecting information for a personal cloud
I purchased the product hoping to get some basic knowledge on Microsoft sharepoint...and I did get a lot of information...but there seems to me a lot of referring to other books on sharepoint and the techical knowledge can be broke down to a non computer addict level. I'm fairly intelligent but I use my computer to perform a service, as tool if you will, and it seems to me that this book is written for someone who tinkers with a computer just for tinkering's sake. Don't get me wrong the book is useful just not as useful as I'd hope and I would reccomend it for someone who is looking for information on sharepoint but not as a single source if you are thinking of installing sharepoint.

Product Description
Caterina DeLuca, burned by her run-around now ex-husband, Johnnie Ricco, took the skills she mastered during marriage and opened her own private-eye agency. Now she's armed with a camera, ready to print the evidence to 8 × 10 glossies for use in divorce court. The men in her big, whacko family, all Chicago cops and one a crook, aren't sure what to make of Cat's career choice. But hey, it's serve and protect!

Then one Rita Polansky retains Cat. Rita's liar-liar husband is the mysterious but seriously hot Chance Savino. Cat is in fact hot on his heels when an exploding building hurls her out of her stilettos and into the hospital. The FBI claims Savino was killed in the fireworks, but Cat's memory replays a different scenario.

She escapes the hospital to meet with her client, another liar. When Rita doesn't show, Cat breaks into her home to find a dead Rita, a knife in her chest, and two clues at the murder scene: a clutch of Starburst candy wrappers -- and Chance Savino, rummaging through Rita's drawers.

As one surprise after another piles up while no one else sights Savino, everyone around Cat thinks she's crazy -- everyone except a determined killer who has put her on his ''kill'' list. Botched attempts force Cat to suspect Johnnie Ricco, or liar-liars from her earlier cases, or a Chicago power broker.

Can Cat, catcher of cheaters, catch a killer? And even if she does, this is Chicago, so what would she do then? ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars liar,liar
The trio of Larsen sisters has combined under one pen name to create an amusing mystery titled LIAR, LIAR. All of this amusement takes place in Chicago - more particularly in the Italian neighborhood named Bridgeport in that "Toddling Town".Our protagonist is a private eye named Cat De Luca whose little firm is known as "Pants On Fire Detective Agency" (Liar, Liar....Pants on fire....Get it?)Cat specializes in tracking and getting the goods on cheating husbands and is professionally stimulated in this endeavor by having been a victim of a philandering spouse herself. She performs her investigative skills within an envelop formed by her noisy, loving and numerous family members which includes a bunch who are Chicago police officers. In the early stages of what seems to be a standard assignment, Cat De Luca's professional life is rudely shattered by explosion and death
The primary plot starts with an initial search for one Chance Cavino commissioned by his "wife".On stake-out related to this assignment Cat gets clipped by an explosion which seems to have killed old Chance. But later he is resurrected and his strange "wife" has assumed room temperature. Many twists and turns move the plot toward finding who is Chance Cavino and what's really going on.In the process Cat is harassed by the FBI and herself becomes a target.
Along the way a roster of mostly engaging people emerges. In no particular order we have Rita Polanski as the client who claimed Chance Cavino as her "husband".She was later exposed as a Chicago Tribune reporter and finally found dead.Chance himself flits in and out of view and even, if one can believe it, becomes a love interest with Cat.Uncle Joey, is one of the few members of Cat's family with sympathy for her troubles and who offers wise council.Brother Rocco, a Chicago police officer, is key in assisting Cat.Tino is a neighborhood deli owner with some dark skills who reaches deep into the Italian underworld to find physical protection for Cat.Cat herself is remarkably competent and her ever present dog Inga is not. (What's a lady detective without a dog these days?).And Momma Deluca who is absolutely appalled by Cat's chosen profession.......rather Cat should be making babies. These people collectively make for a sometimes humorous stew.
However there are a couple of shadows cast across this work of the Larsens'.First, this mystery is in no way an intellectual challenge. That is reflected in the core style of their work.In the beginning LIAR, LIAR appears pleasingly breezy, light hearted and cool. But the construction seems to become increasingly shallow and cute to the point that our cousins across the Atlantic might brand it "too clever by half".
Secondly, there is a plethora of characters introduced through out the story.I count another thirteen (and there's probably more) introduced by name in addition to the eight mentioned in the paragraph before last above. It gets confusing and makes one wish for an index of characters.
But this may be nit picking and LIAR, LIAR is recommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars fun and entertaining mystery
If you like Stephanie Plum and The Spellmans, then you will enjoy this fun and entertaining first novel by three sisters. Cat was looking for a cheating husband in a simple case when the next thing she knew she was in the hospital after a building explosion. No one believes her when she says the "dead" man is alive, but soon her life is threatened and you know there's going to be trouble and boy what a fun ride you'll have watching Cat solve this murder mystery. I can't wait to read the next book in this exciting and adventurous series.

4-0 out of 5 stars For Janet Evanovich Lovers Everywhere
Liar Liar is a fast, fun read - as noted in the title, if you enjoy Janet Evanovich (or Carl Hiaasen, Lisa Lutz) you should love this new series created by KJ Larsen (who are three sister authors writing under one name). As you might guess, it's not the mystery that's the heart of the book, but the people who inhabit it. Cat DeLuca is the owner of a detective agency that specializes in getting the goods on cheating spouses. Things get crazier than usual when a house she's watching is blown up and murder follows in short order. Her Italian family (most who are cops) crank up the volume and the hilarity as they meddle into Cat's affairs, both professional and private.

It's refreshing to find a new heroine in the comic mystery genre - and one who's as funny, sassy, and quick on her feet as Cat. Here's hoping she sticks around for a long time.

5-0 out of 5 stars The character of Cat springs off the page
Cat DeLuca is a fully realized, funny, likable protagonist. She's so real I feel like I could drive downtown and meet her. The story is a fun ride, and the book's a page turner - I read it in just a few days (pretty fast for me).

4-0 out of 5 stars Solid Debut for a Fun Caper Novel
Readers who enjoy Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books, with the capers, sexy hunks, and explosions are in for a treat with K.J. Larsen's debut novel, Liar, Liar.Caterina DeLuca is a street-smart woman who runs her own business, the Pants on Fire Detective Agency.Motto - "We catch Liars and Cheats."It's too bad one of Cat's cases explodes into murder.

Cat's brothers are all Chicago cops like her father and uncles. Her Italian family isn't happy with her career choice because the boys in the family become cops, and the girls are supposed to "marry early and breed more cops."But, when Cat's marriage to "philandering liar Johnnie Risco" ended, she thought she had enough experience to catch cheaters. She apprenticed as a detective, and then opened her own agency, specializing in catching cheating spouses. One case may turn out to be more than she can handle, when Cat's client turns out to be a liar, and then ends up dead.Hired to find Chance Savino by the woman claiming to be his wife, Cat follows him, and is accosted just in time for a building to explode, leaving her with a concussion, and one man dead. But, the sexy Chance Savino disappeared.Despite her claims that Chance is still alive, the FBI, the police, and Cat's family are convinced she's delusional.Even when her client ends up dead, no one will believe her. And, the situation deteriorates when Cat's mother holds "an intervention," bringing in a Catholic priest. The rest of the family finds it hilarious that Cat's mother says Cat takes "dirty pictures" and sees dead men. She'd be better off as a police dispatcher.

Maybe no one believes Cat, but when she finds out her client was a reporter for the Chicago Tribune, she knows she's on to something. As Chance Savino continues to pop in and out of her life, and even her bedroom, everyone claims she's suffering from her concussion, since no one else ever sees him.Is he the one she needs protection from, or is it the man with strong political connections she's told to avoid?Cat's in so much danger that she ends up with a sexy bodyguard. But, that's not going to stop her from finding a killer, and learning who Chance Savino really is.

I loved Liar, Liar.Cat was a strong character, fighting against her family opinion. The book had humor, without being slapstick. And, it's hard to not salivate over the Italian food, particularly the cannoli, in the book. How does it compare to the Stephanie Plum books? The humor isn't as broad.Cat is more competent than Stephanie, although the men in her life don't think she is.The Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago is a perfect setting for this fun caper novel featuring an Italian American family, and the independent woman who is finding her own way, while keeping her family connections.I hope Cat DeLuca and her Pants on Fire Detective Agency have a successful run.

According to the website, K.J. Larsen is actually three sisters, Julianne, Kristen, and Kari Larsen.A second book in the series, Sticks and Stones, is scheduled for release next summer. ... Read more
