Excerpt: Sylvain Grenier (born March 26, 1977) is a Canadian professional wrestler, who is best known for his appearances with World Wrestling Entertainment in the La Résistance tag team. He is currently a French language announcer for TNA Impact! on RDS. As a child, Grenier was living with his mother in Varennes City near Montréal. He was well appreciated in the neighborhood and was already hooked on wrestling. He even made his own wrestling ring in his backyard. Grenier played baseball, tennis and hockey at an amateur level, in addition to working as a model. He eventually decided to become a professional wrestler, and on November 9, 2002 he debuted in the Montreal-based Northern Championship Wrestling promotion as "Sly". Grenier auditioned for series one and two of Tough Enough, the reality television program produced by World Wrestling Entertainment in 2001 and 2002, but was unable to attend the selection process due to visa problems.
