Abstract
Body
Abstract Northwest Missouri State University has embarked on a project to promote accelerated learning, the modularization of courses, and the integration of information technology in appropriate courses. This project is focusing on how to reconfigure courses into modules, which will enhance the learning process and allow learners the opportunity to enter the curriculum at a point appropriate to their prior knowledge and actively pursue their learning at a time, place, and style that suits them best.
Body Information and knowledge are two of the most important elements in our work and daily lives. Our world of information is changing so rapidly that a need for a paradigm shift in the way we teach and learn arises. This paradigm shift not only includes the formal kind of learning traditionally taught in classrooms, but also involves the needs associated with lifelong learning such as learning on the job, learning from others, learning constantly, learning in any place, and at any time. By evolving courses to an accelerated modular format and using both synchronous and asynchronous learning, both of these domains may be encompassed. Such a move not only contributes to a new kind of education, but also to empowering students to become self-directed, lifelong learners.

Examples of Our Work Each One Teach One - Education in a New Afghanistan
Statistics General Statistics Each One Teach One - Education in a New Afghanistan By Barbara Rodey, CRS Consultant In the "CRS and the Youth and Children Development Programme are working together to rebuild Afghanistan's devastated education system." rural villages of Afghanistan over 80 percent of girls and young women, and at least 60 percent of boys and young men, are illiterate. After more than 23 years of conflict, they are members of the "lost generation," wanting to help rebuild their country but severely limited by their lack of even a basic education. In a nation where virtually the entire education system has been destroyed, literacy and basic education for these youth would come painfully slow since teachers and resources are severely lacking, and educating small children is the priority. However, an innovative partnership that began in October 2002 between Catholic Relief Services and the youth-led and youth-managed Youth and Children Development Programme (YCDP) has found a way to help - by "rapidly training" local youth who have some education. These young people will become 'Education Facilitators' in their villages. Over half will be older girls and young women who, just a few months ago, had little hope of having a 'career,' of becoming an integral part of rebuilding their society.

Advocacy for Accelerated Learning Article ID:110205 By: Elliot A. Ryan Often, the same question is asked when I introduce Accelerated Learning (AL) into a conversation with people who are new to AL. The question is apparently obvious. It is: Since AL is as productive as you say it is how come it is not being used on a large scale in public schools, today?" To date, my response has been, "it is easily verifiable that accelerated learning is in fact alive and well in other words in wide spread use today." I suggest to everyone to enter the words 'accelerated learning' or 'accelerative learning' into their favorite online search engine and to type with them the name of any country or state in the US and watch the results.
Now, there is Bill Gates. Computers have gotten the attention of our 'august trio' nationwide. Their investment of attention would be as or more rewarding when made in AL principles, AL methods of learning and teaching and AL successes based on the research of recent years.
