I have noticed that the terms adrenal exhaustion, adrenal hypofunction and Addisions desease seem to be used interchangeably in the Merk manual and other resources. Are these terms synonomous? I am also being treated for reflux, parixsysmal atria tachycardia, migraines etc., and have had multiple benign cysts (9) surgically removed over the last 20 years. I am wondering most about a large lemon sized cyst removed from my optic nerve as this was very close to the pituitary gland and how this may have caused or could be interacting with the adrenal and hormone problems I am experiencing now. I am also wondering if/how the current medications I am taking for PAT, migrains etc. may be interacting or exasterbating the adrenal and hormone problems I am experiencing and whether I actually have these other conditions or whether these are actually symptoms of the adrenal exhaustion. Would you please advise regarding good questions I need to ask my Dr. and how I might better educate myself on treatment options and drug interactions?
