Biographical Information Legal Corporate Name This is the name listed on official documents. The Internal Revenue Service publishes the cumulative list of non-profit organizations as a three-volume set with quarterly supplements, searchable on the web. Mission "The Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy research institute based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1973, it works to ensure that the United States is a place where 'freedom, opportunity, prosperity and civil society flourish." Address The Heritage Foundation is located at:
214 Massachusetts Ave NE Washington DC 20002-4999 Try to visit the organization's offices and take a look around that's really the best way to get a feel for the group. For example, recent Heritage Foundation tax forms showed large expenditures for renovations and office furniture. When I toured the offices I learned the Heritage Foundation is completing a three-year renovation project to install television and radio studios and remodels some offices. This explained why the 990 showed large renovation expenditures. But, again, if you are keeping your work on the down low that might not be an option.
