Perhaps I should explain. I have decided to redesign 10xshot. I have recently been doing a fair amount of work with PHP and mySQL, so i have decided to update the site accordingly. Whay you see here is just me playing around with HTML, I'll have the actual DB stuff as soon as SkyNet gives me a MySQL account ;)
Basically how Im going to work it is I'll have the menu entries holed up in a mySQL db. The blue bar up top will hold the top menu entries, whilst the yellow bar will hold the sub-menu items, so basically when Im done if you click "About" in the blue bar, "Me", "Personal Bests", "Equipment", and "Thanks" should appear in the yellow bar. Not only does this allow the creation of extra menu entries reasoably easy, it also does away with the DHTML menu that was not compatible with some browsers.

This victory will give Scavotto confidence and she now has high hopes for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. She clinched the gold medal by beating Nulle Wiebke, GER 108-104 points. The bronze medal was won by Alexandra Fouace, FRA who defeated Janet Dykman, USA 107-99 points. Fouace had shot against Scavotto in the semi finals in an exciting match. The two archers were tied on 102 points, but whereas Fouace shot an 8 with her shoot off arrow, Scavotto shot a 9, which enabled her to proceed to the gold medal match.

Early History
A rchery is one of the most ancient of sports. During the paleolithic era (35,000 to 8,000 B.C.), the use of bow and arrow for hunting probably developed independently in many places throughout the world. By definition, there's no documentary evidence of archery competitions during the prehistoric era. But certainly, during that long expanse of time, now and then some ancient hunter who boasted about his skill with the bow must have been challenged to a contest by someone equally proud of his skill. There probably wasn't much to brag about. While an arrow can be launched by a bow with greater speed than any missile can be thrown, primitive bows are not very accurate. Western movies greatly exaggerated the skill of Native American bowmen; their hunting ability was based much more on skill and stealth in tracking than on marksmanship. The bow first entered military history in 2,340 B.C., when Sargon of Akkad in northern Babylonia conquered the Sumerians of southern Babylonia with an infantry made up mostly of archers. From that time on, many ancient peoples used archery in warfare in varying ways and with varying degrees of success.

Korzeniowski walks into Olympic history books
By STEVEN DOWNES
SYDNEY (September 28, 2000 11:00 p.m. EDT http://www.sportserver.com ) - Poland's Robert Korzeniowski walked his way into the history books in Sydney on Friday morning, when he became the first man in Olympic history to win the 20km and 50km race walk double, retaining his title in the longest event on the athletics programme - another historic first. Latvia's Agars Fadejevs took silver, while Mexican Joel Sanchez finished with the bronze. Korzeniowski who took the event to a new level. The 32-year-old Krakow sports teacher won the 20km walk here last week in controversial style - when Mexico's Bernardo Segura was disqualified 11 minutes after he had crossed the line in the belief he had won the gold. But Friday's triumph was much more clear-cut. Korzeniowski finished in 3hr 42min 22sec, removing his sun glasses to reveal the sweat on his face in the baking Sydney sun.

Thursday, July 13, 2000 PROFILE: Carol Montgomery Montgomery ready to make Canadian Olympic history
By DONNA SPENCER
Canadian Press
Carol Montgomery's heart has always been in running.
She may be a medal threat in the women's Olympic triathlon in Sydney, but it's her 10,000-metre race on the track 11 days later that really has her pumped. "I don't have much chance of making the 10,000 final as a runner, but that's what I'm looking forward to almost more so than the triathlon," said the 34-year-old, who will be the first Canadian to compete in two different sports at the same Olympics.

http://archerynsw.com/history.html
It is mentioned in historic documents that regular Archery meetings were held in Sydney about 1859, at the grounds of the St. Leonards Archery Club under the Presidency of a Lady Burton. However, after 1880 the sport lost popularity, as it did throughout the world. Rather interestingly in the 1900 Olympic games in Paris an Australian Archer named Macintosh gained first place in the game shooting section. Some clubs existed about 1911-14 but went out of existence during WW1 owing to lack of equipment. In the 1920's there was a distinct revival in Sydney; one club had regular meetings and schools began holding classes, particularly amongst girls. In 1933, the Sydney club operated under the title of New South Wales Archery Society holding meetings in the suburb of Woollahra. Other clubs formed in the late 1930's one was the Bowmen of Lorne at West Maitland in 1937. Early in 1940 the publication of a journal, " The Australian Archer", was commenced at West Maitland but this closed down the following year, generally the sport ceased to exist during World War 2. Most clubs ceased all activities, but an exception was the Archery Society of Western Australia, which continued to operate throughout the war years. The Perth club then shot at Lake Monger and shortly moved to Hollywood then onto the University, Mr. Laurie Drake, his wife Grace and sons Darryl and Barrie with the help of fellow members Charlie Owens, Mr. Preston and four other regulars kept the sport going. During this time visiting Australian, Allied and American soldiers and sailors also joined these meetings. Sadly an eastern states champion, Perce Stoken a sailor, visited the Perth club shortly before his ship was sunk and he perished.

The Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta came to a close Sunday night, after two weeks of athletic competition between 197 countries and over 11,000 athletes the most ever in an Olympic Games. The Games closed with International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samaranch praising the city of Atlanta, but notably failing to call the game as "the greatest in Olympic history" a phrase that has become routine in his Closing Ceremonies speeches.
