The record speaks for itself. The Vikings have won 61.3 percent of their games since the inception of the team in 1954. By the end of last season, the program had achieved 767 wins, which ranks in the top 50 of all NJCAA colleges, and is fourth among two-year schools in New York State. Are you looking for more proof of excellence? Hudson Valley has not had a losing season since 1989-90, has qualified for 12 consecutive NJCAA Division III Region III tournaments, and has won 70 percent of its games since the 1990-91 season. In only seven seasons, head coach Vince Medici has amassed 137 wins against only 68 losses. Medici is looking to continue winning seasons streak this season but will have to do it with his youngest team since he came to Hudson Valley. The good news for the Vikings is that the lone returning player is All-Mountain Valley Conference forward Markael Brace (Albany/Albany High School) . Brace is an all-around player. He led the team with 13.8 points per game a year ago and also brought down 4.6 rebounds and dished out 2.4 assists per contest as well. Defensively, Brace led the team with 44 steals.

What about the second question? Guards Tanya DeLaMater (Troy, NY/Tamarac) Carolyn Keeler (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) and Casey Brinkman (Troy, NY/Troy) return to provide the Lady Vikings with an experienced backcourt. Keeler started all 33 games her freshman year and was third on the team with 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. DeLaMater, who played the off-guard position last season, is expected to run the offense this year at the point. A starter in 27 games last season, DeLaMater score 5.8 points and dished out 2.5 assists per contest. Brinkman, who made one start a year ago, averaged 2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Angela Von Wergers (Albany, NY/Bishop Gibbons) is the lone returnee in the frontcourt and should provide inside strength to the Lady Vikings. Von Wergers, who plays larger than her 5-8 frame would indicate, averaged 5.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per outing last season. Also returning for Hudson Valley is forward Christine Parker (Mount Vision, NY/Laurens)

General Information
The overarching goal of CYO Athletics is to provide as many young people as possible the opportunity to experience spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional growth through participation in a variety of sports. When done with effective leadership, no other learning experience allows young people to acquire so much information about themselves and others.
Philosophy
CYO Athletic programs must provide not only for the development of particular physical skills but also social interaction, emotional stability, affirmation and spiritual strength. Consciously, we work with our young people as whole persons. The young person, not the athletic activity, is our key focus.
We believe that all CYO athletic programs should be well organized and maintain standards of high quality. We believe that all who have the opportunity to be on a team should also have the right to participate in the game. We also believe that interested people should have the opportunity to be involved in athletics at the level of their abilities.
Successes are important for any team. It is the role of the coach to enable the young person not to see success only in terms of winning. Most importantly, the coach teaches, that by setting achievable personal and team goals and reaching those goals, everyone is successful and "a winner". In CYO Athletics, the final score does not measure success; it is measured by the effort of individuals striving to achieve team goals and at the same time having fun.

While the final record of the 2001-02 Wentworth women's basketball team may have stood at 3-21, the Leopards continued a rebuilding process in the second year of a new coaching staff and new system. In fact, one can look at the seven losses by a combined 43 points (including four losses by five or fewer points) and say that Wentworth was indeed competitive and was close to cracking the win column in several of those games. Sophomore Tiffany Colt (Fairhaven, Mass.) was the Leopards' offensive leader, averaging 9.0 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, while starting all 24 of the team's games. Junior Tabitha Craig (Springfield, Mass.) averaged 8.4 ppg and 5.4 rpg, while junior Amy Petit (Foxboro, Mass.) chipped in with 4.5 ppg, to go along with 3.0 assists and 2.3 steals per game. In addition to the aforementioned players, freshman Ashley Grant (Springfield, Mass.) averaged 3.7 ppg and sophomore
