Report on the National Policy Research Conference, December 7, 2001 GREETINGS! Once again, the numbers are in. Delegates to the Bringing Communities Together conference came from over 30 federal and provincial government departments and agencies, over 50 universities and colleges and over 100 research institutes, NGOs and private sector organizations. Overall, it is estimated that the conference and awards ceremony together brought together 900 participants and 200 speakers. What follows are brief snapshots from Day 3 of the conference. We would like to thank all participants for helping to make this conference a success. We would also like to thank the conference sponsors the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada, Bell Canada, Canada's Research-Based Pharmaceutical Companies, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Canadian National, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and Statistics Canada for their generous support. Without them, a conference of this size, breadth and depth would not have been possible. Policy Research Initiative Table of Contents - Plenary: Resilience and Adaptation for Sustainable Communities
