DRAM is the most common form of random access memory, found in most every computing device. Broader economic factors and ongoing tech sector weakness have had an impact as well. Unfortunately, DRAM oversupply has occurred, with the likely result being that the already battered semiconductor sector will continue to wallow for some time. by Paul McIvor MedcomSoft Captures Niche Software Market Throughout North America medical practitioners, faced with increased workload, self educated patients (thanks to the Internet) and efficiency-driven healthcare management, are under pressure to make rapid and correct diagnoses. Canadian Technology Network provides high tech solutions for business
"We want to foster the ability for business to grow and export, and to create jobs." - Rob Greer, CTN regional coordinator Businesses in Saskatchewan and across the country have a new resource at their fingertips. Launched in May, the Canadian Technology Network (CTN) is designed to help small to medium-sized enterprises gain a competitive edge by providing quick and easy access to a variety of technology experts via the Internet. "Our goal is to assist the small enterprise in Canada to become more competitive through the adoption and application of technology," explains Rob Greer, CTN's regional co-ordinator for Saskatchewan. "We want to foster the ability for business to grow and export, and to create jobs." To date, CTN has more than 300 members - or advisors - in its database, drawn mainly from the public and not-for-profit sectors. The advisors serve as the backbone of the network, and are available to personally work with businesses to identify needs and help find solutions to technology and related business challenges. Advisors also link clients with other resources and expertise to help their business grow. "What we are is a people network," says Greer. "The Internet serves as a directory to the resources and people. The advantage is that you don't just get an e-mail address, but a name and number to call."

International space station: Canada's arm reaches into space.

On Nov. 20 the Russian Zarya , or sunrise, cargo module blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Over the next four years components from the other international partners, including Canada, the U.S., Russia, Japan, Brazil and the 11-member European Space Agency, will be added in 50 space shuttle and rocket launches. Spar Aerospace of Montreal and a host of sub-contractors from Saskatoon, Halifax, Ottawa and Richmond, B.C. have developed the next generation of the Canadarm, the robot arm that assists in moving equipment outside spacecraft. Spar and friends have designed high-tech machinery including the space station remote manipulator system, the special purpose dexterous manipulator and the remote mobile base system. For those of us who aren't engineers, the remote manipulator system is a 17-metre long crane or arm, like the Canadarm, that will move along the outside of the space station on what's called the remote mobile base system.

Homework Assignment Directory DO NOT plagiarize How World War II Improved Canadian Technology Throughout history, many events have affected the world’s technology increase, but no event in history has ever affected the change in our technology and economy as much as World War II. Mackenzie King was the Prime Minister of Canada during World War II. As the war progressed, vast improvements were made in the fields of communication, transportation, aviation, and basic economic prosperity. During World War II, Canadian industries built parts for huge bombers and fighter aircraft like the Wasp, Mosquito and the Hawker Hurricane. Their fuselages were constructed of wood cut from British Colombia’s vast forests. Canadians developed new resin glues to aide in the construction of the all-wooden Mosquito fighter and constructed a total of 16,500 aircraft, of which approximately 80% were shipped to Britain for the war. During the war, aircraft production space increased 28 times! – From 500,000 square feet before the war to 14,000,000 feet by the end of the war. Canada’s ship production technology was also greatly increased during the war. In 1941, the first of the large 10,000-ton merchant ships were taking about 307 days to build. By the end of the war, this production was cut to about 160 days, one ship being built in a record of 112 days.
