If you choose one of the more basic rates and not to have full support, consulting services are available from the IGPP Help Desk (IGPP NetOps) at $71/hr, on a time available basis. HARDWARE SUPPORT
N.B. The current rate schedule does not include prepaid hardware technical support or repair. However, for those PIs with computers on software contract full support (level 2x or 2w), it is a priority for IGPP NetOps to help those PIs keep their hardware maintained and in good repair. Although we do not ordinarily do in-house repairs, with the PI's approval we will make best efforts to send defective equipment out for repair and have it back online as quickly as possible. After initial problem evaluation for free (up to 1 hour), charges will include all the actual repair costs plus NetOps' time at the above consulting rate. LEVEL $/MO DESCRIPTION Unsupported Printers : These are printers not owned by NetOps and are listed for inventory purposes. Netops provides connectivity but not supplies or maintenance.

It includes some new and very expressive ideas (see the paper "Predicate Dispatching: A Unified Theory of Dispatch" by Michael Ernst, Craig Kaplan and Craig Chambers). December 6, 2000
NEW YORK, NY Gannett executives today reported on the company's strong performance in 2000 and the outlook for another record year in 2001 at the Credit Suisse First Boston Media Conference held here this week.
Below is the presentation given by Gannett Broadcasting Division Chairman and CEO Cecil Walker:
Gary's comments and the tape cover our joint activities in Phoenix. We are moving ahead quickly in all three areas of opportunities for our traditional business:
1) Journalism
2) Sales and Marketing
3) Community Activities
The Web activities should also overlap all three areas and we see great potential in combining our TV resources with Newspapers under one portal Web site.
Gannett Television now has 22 stations operating in 19 designated marketing areas (DMA) covering 17.5 percent of the USA based on the new Nielsen Year 2001 market size information. We are showing markets 1-25 on this page. Our station line-up includes 13 NBC stations and we cover 10.6 percent of the USA. We own 6 CBS stations covering 5.1 percent. We own 3 ABC stations covering 2.4 percent of the USA.
The total of the three affiliate groups is more than 17.5 percent because we have the NBC/ABC duopoly in Jacksonville, Fla. As you recall, we had special opportunity to purchase WJXX, the ABC affiliate, because it was ranked sixth in the market in November 1998. We closed in March 2000 and the station has improved our results.

CIS 888.07G: Research Topics in Programming Language Design
    Course Description
Designing programs is hard. To simplify the task of structuring programs and designing class hierarchies, the object-oriented community has developed design patterns as recipes for solving common design problems. An analysis of these design patterns shows, however, that many design problems could be solved easier with better programming language support. In this research seminar, we will explore the design space of object-oriented and functional languages, compare features of existing languages, look for language design ideas in recent theoretical papers, and experiment with extensions of existing languages. The goal is to work toward designing a language that would provide better support for real-world programming problems (e.g., as expressed in design patterns) than existing object-oriented or functional languages.

Haskell is a non-strict, polymorphic functional language with type inference and controlled side effects and supports overloading via type classes. Haskell implementations include compilers ( GHC HBC ) and interpreters (GHC, Hugs and Helium ). Most implementations support extensions such as existential types and multiparameter type classes. Generic Haskell is a preprocessor which extends Haskell with the ability to define functions which recurse over types. Gofer is a not-quite-Haskell predecessor of Hugs. Concurrent Clean is a Haskell-like language with uniqueness typing.
