For one thing, there is a 16.7 per cent greater chance that you will suffer a severe injury falling down your stairs or taking your dog for a walk than if you are involved in any sports or recreational activities. Development on Public Lands For many Americans, public lands’ recreation means hiking, canoeing, or fishing in their local National Forest. For the last hundred years, most recreation on public lands has been relatively un-commercial and non-motorized.
