Thursday, August 15, 2002 New Group Trains Advocates for Better Schools: "Leave No Parent Behind" Communications Firm and Parent Leadership Organization Join Forces Arlington, VA - Unless more parents become more knowledgeable and demanding of their local schools, the lofty promises of the new federal No Child Left Behind Act are unlikely to become reality. To help address this challenge, KSA-Plus Communications, the nation's leading education communications firm, and the Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence, a Kentucky-based nonprofit that hosts acclaimed parent leadership institutes, are teaming up to provide school districts, departments of education, community, business, and other advocacy groups tools that empower parents to become more effective champions for improved schools. The two groups formed Parent Leadership Associates, which will provide problem-solving assistance to clients through consulting, training, advocacy guides and how-to manuals.
