Ringwood Borough is a suburban community located within the foothills of the New Jersey Ramapo Mountains in the northeast corner of Passaic County. Our town covers an area of some 27.5 square miles, and includes a number of lakes, ponds and reservoirs. In addition the borough has a population of 12,850 along with over 250 businesses. The Police Department has 25 Sworn Officers, 5 Special Officers, and 10 Civilian Personnel. The Department prides itself in the level of service provided to the Community.

Domestic Violence Prevention About Domestic Violence Prevention Domestic Violence Prevention Projects Domestic violence and indigenous family violence are significant issues of justice and safety for the South Australian community. They have a profound impact on the health and wellbeing of communities, families and individuals, and have significant economic impact. Prevention of domestic violence and indigenous family violence is a key objective of the South Australian Government . Government has key leadership roles and responsibilities in the prevention of domestic and indigenous family violence. The State Government is committed to developing ways to assist and work with South Australian communities for the prevention of domestic violence and indigenous family violence. It is recognised that a whole-of-community approach, which reaches across governments and communities, is required to achieve this vision. The impact of domestic violence and indigenous family violence, and the range of sustained initiatives required to minimise their harmful effects and to work to prevent them, cut across the three tiers of government, and across the core business of a number of government and non-government portfolios, departments and agencies.

References Introduction For the purposes of this guidance, the term domestic violence is used to describe the physical, emotional and mental abuse of women by male partners or ex-partners. The impact of this violence is felt strongly, but not always explicitly, in every general practitioner's consulting room. The manner in which the general practitioner responds to a woman's first tentative attempt to seek help to change her situation can make an immense difference to that woman's life and those of her children (Richardson and Feder, 1997).
