The state of Florida provides for the licensing of three types of pesticide applicators. These are : Commercial Applicators, Private Applicators and Public Applicators. Pesticide applicators holding a valid pesticide applicators license in the state of Florida must become recertified in order to renew their license. Recertification may be accomplished by:
  • Retaking the recertification exams
  • Earning continuing education units (CEUs) All applicators that renew their CEUs (before January 1, 2005) must earn the number of CEUs required for each specific licensing category being renewed.
    • In each category, at least two of the required CWUs must be "Core CEUs".
    • At least one half of the total CEUs required in a category, must be approved for that specific category.
    • The remaining CEUs must be approved for either Core or the specific category being renewed.
NOTE; The same Core CEUs cannot be applied to more than one category. To renew the Demonstration and Research category, a licensee must earn CEUs approved for Demonstration and Research. No Core CEUs are required.

This page contains some of Floridas History of Surveying and Mapping Col. Butler: Col. Butler was commissioned Surveyor of the Public Lands of Florida on July 9, 1824, by George Graham, Commissioner of the General Land Office in Washington. William P. Duval, Florida Territorial Governor was notified of his appointment on July 10, 1824. The appointment was made by President James Monroe at the request of General Andrew Jackson.
Col. Butler arrived in Tallahassee and assumed his duties as Surveyor General. The selection of the Tallahasse Base and Guide Meridian Marker was one of his immediate tasks. Lt. Governor Walton, in the absence of Governor Duval, requested Col. Butler to select the Initial Point so that the Capitol Building would be approximately in the center of the first quarter section to the northwest. This quarter section had been granted to the Territory by the U.S. Government as the seat of government.
Col. Butler was instructed to appoint one of his most skillful surveyors to run the Tallahassee Base Line west to the Perdido River. Benejamin Clements and James Exum completed this task. Instructions were received to survey 20 Townships in the vicinity of Tallahassee as soon as possible, as settlers were arriving and clearing land even before the survey could be made. Col. Butler appointed Deputy Surveyors as required and expeditied the subdivision of the Public Lands of Florida into Townships and Sections.

    Admissions
Students classified as first semester freshmen at the university will be admitted to the college when they declare a major within the B.S. degree program. At that time, their college classification will become HH. Students maintain the HH classification as long as they meet the standards set by the college and UF for admission and universal tracking. Students who are not making satisfactory academic progress may be required to seek admission to another college or to make alternative academic plans. Students who fall below minimum performance standards will have a registration hold placed on their record. They must meet with an adviser to determine a plan of action before the hold will be removed. (top)
    Students Other Than Freshman
All UF students other than first semester freshmen will be admitted to the college if they meet or exceed the universal tracking criteria published in the catalog. Requirements for admission vary depending on the major. Therefore, it is important to complete all requirements. (top)
    Juniors and Seniors
After reaching 60 hours, students who meet or exceed the 60-hour performance standards specified by the college and major will retain their classification within the college. Juniors and seniors (3HH and 4HH) will be monitored for progress toward a degree. All majors are expected to maintain the minimum overall grade point average required by the selected specialization option.

Honesty, integrity and caring are essential qualities of an educational institution, and the concern for values and ethics is important to the whole educational experience. Individual students, faculty and staff members, as well as the university's formal organizations, must assume responsibility for these qualities. The concern for values and ethics should be expressed in classes, seminars, laboratories and, in fact, in all aspects of university life. By definition, the university community includes members of the faculty, staff and administration as well as students. Education at the University of Florida is not an ethically neutral experience. The university stands for, and seeks to inculcate, high standards. Moreover, the concern for values goes well beyond the observance of rules. A university is a place where self-expression, voicing disagreement and challenging outmoded customs and beliefs are prized and honored. However, all such expressions need to be civil, manifesting respect for others.
