Between 1947 and 1995 the Panthers had not won a conference championship. In his five seasons as Panthers head football coach, Beach has guided Chaffey to Foothill Conference titles in 1996 and 1998. Under his tenure the Panthers have played in four Southern California Bowls, winning the past three including a 46-37 win over Palomar last year. From 1991 to 1995 Beach served as defensive coordinator for San Bernardino Valley College, helping them win the Potato Bowl in 1993. After completing his undergraduate degree, Beach spent the next five years honing his craft as a football coach. His first job was as the defensive line coach at Damien in 1972. He followed that the next year as a defensive line coach for Notre Dame High in Riverside. In 1974 Beach coached the defensive line at SBVC. Beach took over coaching the offensive line at Bloomington High the next season. From 1976 until 1991 Beach was the head coach at Bloomington High and guided the team to a 90-66-3 record, including 48-10 during his last five years as coach. He led Bloomington to seven CIF appearances including 10-0 starts in 1986 and 1987.
