The CFL's Stars of Tomorrow showcased their talents in Montreal over the weekend

TORONTO - The Canadian Football League would like to announce the official results from the 2002 Evaluation Camp which took place in Montreal over this past weekend. The athletes impressed League officials, scouts, coaches and general managers with their professional conduct and athleticism.
Football players from the CIS, NCAA and CJFL were all represented at the Evaluation Camp. Those from the CIS and NCAA are all eligible for the 2002 CFL Draft taking place via conference call on April 25th.

Who I am: I am an engineer specializing in physiological research at DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine, Germany. My Career Journey I climbed through the education system by an alternate way. You may know that the school system in Germany is a little different than in the states. You normally have to take a "Matura", which is a final exam after the 13th grade that allows you to go to the university. My route was a little bit different. Because of problems in foreign languages (Greek, Latin and English) I left school after 10th grade. At that time a classical education was really more or less unnecessary for me. I was far more interested in technical things such as physics and math, which were my favorites. Therefore, I decided not to go the normal way. I made my way as a technician first, and with that degree I was allowed to study medicine. My first contact with the university was as an ordinary assistant to support the lessons of the full professors at the university of Tuebingen, department of physiology. By doing my tasks, like bringing the frogs to the students to dissect them, I got more and more interested in that field of work. Another task I had was to prepare the records for investigations on animal experiments. In this task I was confronted with questions like:

Valley hockey favorite takes Horizon reins Steve Weston
    Special for the Scottsdale Republic
Oct. 19, 2002 12:00 AM SCOTTSDALE - During minor-league ice hockey's finest days in the Valley, rabid fans of the Phoenix Roadrunners held young Sean Whyte near and dear to their hearts. Now, if only he can attain that kind of popularity with the new crowd he has to please. That would be the boys who will be playing for Horizon High School's varsity team this winter in "Thunder On Ice," the Arizona High School Hockey Association's 39-team, statewide league. Whyte, 32, will start his first coaching stint when the league kicks off its fifth season Sunday. Horizon opens against Saguaro at 6 at the Alltel Ice Den in Scottdale. Also playing are Chaparral and Desert Mountain (6:40 p.m.), followed by Cactus Shadows and Gilbert Mesquite (8:10 p.m.). "It's going to be a challenge to teach these kids," said Whyte, an Ontario-born forward who was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in 1989, played in 21 NHL games and labored 11 years in the minor leagues. "A lot of things I see out on the ice I take for granted because I grew up playing the game. The good thing is, these kids work hard and they really want to learn."
