BASHORE GENEALOGY
What a hobby!
So, you are here for some insight, and hopefully, information on your line of the Bashore's. Well, my line of Bashore's came from/or currently living in OH, PA, or TN. The Bashore name most likely came from a French name of LeBaisuer or LeBaissuer (though this hasn't been excepted by many genealogist). Meaning, "one who kisses". Already we're getting into some cool stuff on genealogy. The LeBaisuer's were French Huguenots that were percecuted and fled France to other near by countries. Because of this the name had be corrupted many times over through contact with the Germans and English. Some of these names are as follows: Of course, BASHORE, BAYSHORE, BASHAIR, BASHOR, BASORE, BAISEUR, BOESZHAAR, BASOR, BASEHOR, BASEHORE, BASEHERE, BAYSORE, BAYSHOUR, BACUSORE, BASOUR, BAYSOUR, BASHAR, BASORE, BOESHORE, BOSHAAR, BASSIERE, BASEU, BOESHAAR, BAISSEUR, BESOR, BEASHORE, BASHIR, BASHAW, BASHOHR, BAZEMORE, BEISSER, BESHORE, BAUSCHER, BOSOHORE. And, there are many more. Yes! They are all real names. And they all have some similarities, too!

Doing genealogical research is always a high interest activity for students of all ages. In addition to the rewards of a personal nature, research creates a host of opportunities to practice and integrate social studies skills learned or that need to be learned.
Family histories written today provide some of the primary resource material for the historians of the future ("...when a person dies a library burns..") Collecting data, obtaining and evaluating documents and sources, conducting and recording eyewitness accounts of historical events in family life provide opportunities to practice the historians craft. We should ask student/historians to weed and cull, to evaluate, to interpret, and to assign value to historical events and accounts of those events.
Finally, we must ask students to practice their writing skills and to publish in some form, if only for fellow students and other family members. In addition to these reasons, knowing the family medical history can have a survival value, as more and more research links families to various diseases.
With all of these advantages, I am surprised that more don't require lessons in family history.

History Information Names Contact Points ... Other Sites History Overview First we must identify a Walloon. A Walloon is a member of a French speaking people of Celtic descent inhabiting southern and southeastern Belgium and adjacent regions of France. Walloon is also the French dialect of these people. The Drainage People The skilled drainage people travelled to where they could find work just as the other artisans in the manufacture of silk, velvet and linen, drainage was an art form. They travelled to London, Norwich, Kent, and other parts of England. The settlement that had been in the English Pale behind Calais remained together, ended up in Middelburg Walcheren. They went, as a body, to Sandtoft, they sailed up the Humber and docked just below Doncaster. Cornelius Vermuyden had had a chapel built for them at Sandtoft, after acquiring permission and installed a little company town which was later burned out and the church destroyed - they then moved to Thorney and environs. In his book, SMILES states: "…a scheme was set afoot for reclaim of drowned lands in Hatfield Chase and the Great Level of the Fens and a large number of labourers assembled under Cornelius Vermuyden to execute necessary works. They were, however, a very different class of men from the modern ‘navvies’ - for wherever they went, they formed themselves into congregations, erected churches, and appointed ministers to conduct their worship. Upward of 200 Flemish families settled on land reclaimed by them in the Isle of Axholme; the ships which brought the immigrants up the Humber to their new home being facetiously hailed as "the navy of Tarshish"….In short, wherever the refugees settled, they acted as so many missionaries of skilled work, exhibiting the best practical examples of diligence, industry, and thrift and teaching the English people in the most effective manner the beginnings of those various industrial arts in which they have since acquired so much distinction and wealth."

A Brief History of the HUGUENOTS
(Go to Bottom of Web page for other links) The dominant reformer in the generation after Luther and Zwingli was John Calvin, a French theologian who settled in Geneva in 1536. Calvin's reforms were not as radical as those of Zwingli, but they were accompanied by a severe regime that in effect combined church and state in order to enforce moral and doctrinal conformity. Calvin wrote the first systematic exposition of Protestant theology, set up a democratic presbyterian church government, and founded influen tial educational institutions that trained men such as John Knox, who introduced Calvinism into Scotland, where it became the established Presbyterian church. Calvinism also spread to France, where its adherents were known as < I> Huguenots and to Holland, where it reinforced the Dutch determination to achieve independence from Catholic Spain. Huguenots, name given to the Protestants of France from about 1560 to 1629. Protestantism was introduced into France between 1520 and 1523, and its principles were accepted by many members of the nobility, the intellectual classes
