http://dnr.state.il.us/conservation/forestry/programs.htm
Illinois Department of Natural Resources Illinois Forestry Assistance Programs Background: The forests of Illinois contribute greatly to our economy and provide the ecological systems and visual landscapes essential to our quality of life. Historically, demands for raw materials (i.e., wood, land for development, etc.) have competed with the need to protect and conserve natural resources. Meeting these diverse needs on a sustained basis without sacrificing the integrity and the productive capacity of our forests is the challenge facing the owners and managers of Illinois' forests. Over the next 25 years wood demand is forecasted to rise about 25 percent. This problem of increasing demand is being compounded by the reduction of harvest from federal forest lands. This is causing the demand for wood products to shift to non-industrial private forest (NIPF) lands. Over 90 percent of the 4.26 million acres of Illinois forest land is owned by private landowners. Of these landowners, over 80 percent have never received professional forestry management assistance. Illinois, in spite of the field forestry staff available through programs of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the record number of private consultant foresters, is faced with a dilemma in attempting to provide forest management assistance to the over 169,000 forest landowners. Various programs have been developed at the state and federal level that are designed to provide management assistance to forest landowners, industry and fire departments.

Student Loan Management is located in the Student Services Building. Student Loan Management primarily handles students currently receiving loans and is responsible for entrance interviews, debt management counseling, and the monthly Student Loan Management Newsletter. For all student loans, disbursements are applied directly to your tuition and fees, room and board, and any other university charges. If you have any loan money remaining, you will receive a refund check in the mail or it will be deposited into your checking account if you participate in the direct deposit program (see Refunds). Students receiving loan money for the first time at UIC will not receive a disbursement until the UIC Financial Counselor Program is completed. All student loans must be repaid to your lender, whether it is the federal government or the University of Illinois at Chicago. Failure to do so will result in serious consequences. All student loans are reported to national credit bureaus at the time of disbursement. If you fail to repay a student loan, your credit rating will be affected. However, you do have certain rights and responsibilities.

Budget and Debt Counseling
Confidential counseling sessions with our certified counselors are available free of charge to anyone with financial problems.
Debt Management Program (DMP)
This is a voluntary program that serves the dual role of helping you repay your debts and helping creditors receive the money owed them. At the initial counseling session, the counselor will discuss the nominal monthly service fee.
Most of our funding comes from voluntary contributions from creditors who participate in Debt Management Programs. Since creditors have a financial interest in getting paid, most are willing to make a contribution to help fund our agency. We will work with all your creditors regardless of whether they contribute to our agency.
Creditor contributions are usually calculated as a percentage of payments you make through your DMP - up to fifteen percent (15%) of each payment received. However, your accounts with your creditors will always be credited with one hundred percent (100%) of the amount you pay through us.

Illinois Volunteer Money Management Program
Developed in conjunction with the AARP Money Management Program , Illinois Volunteer Money Management is a financial services program that assists low income older persons who have difficulty managing their personal household budgets, paying bills, keeping track of banking records, intervening with creditors, completing medical forms, and handling other issues related to personal finances. The program matches trained volunteers with older persons who need help with tasks such as organizing bills, writing checks, balancing a checkbook, intervening with creditors and completing medical forms. Volunteers also serve as Representative Payees, persons designated by the Social Security Administration to manage the monthly benefits of certain beneficiaries. The Case Coordination Units screen, train, match and supervise the volunteers. The Illinois Council of Case Coordination Units coordinates the project and monitors financial transactions.
