Chicago City Limits Performs "Comedy Without a Net" New York's longest running comedy revue, Chicago City Limits, will present its unique brand of comedy and improvisation on Thursday, November 29th and Saturday, December 1st at 8 p.m. in Valborg Theatre, as part of Appalachian State University's 2001-2002 Performing Arts Series, presented by the Office of Cultural Affairs. The New York Times refers to them as "the perfect masters of improvisation." The New York Post proclaims "funniest show in town - not to be missed," and the Daily News sums up their show in one word: "Hilarious!" This immensely popular comedy troupe has been thrilling audiences for over twenty-two years with its unique style of improvisational comedy. Its critically acclaimed New York show, award-winning National Touring Company, and top notch theatre training program makes Chicago City Limits a New York landmark. Director Paul Zuckerman defines improvisation as "comedy without a net." The troupe creates a one of a kind theatrical experience by taking suggestions from audience members and crafting scenes on the spot. The result is an evening of hilarious, sidesplitting humor. No two Chicago City Limits productions are ever alike, so audiences are assured a truly unique experience. Diploma in Performing Arts - Dance Commercial Dance: 2 Year Course
A 2-year, full-time course designed to equip students with a high level of technical, artistic and interpretative skill in dance and to provide the opportunity for practical performing experience. Each year of the course will consist of four terms, totaling 38 weeks, and comprising 25 hours of contact-time per week. Students will attend classes from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm daily in the first year, but during the second year will be expected to work 9.00 to 5.00 pm daily. All students will be expected to complete a minimum of 10-15 hours out of school work, each week. This time, which is self-regulated, will be spent in the research and completion of assignments, rehearsal, background study of topics, choreography and special projects. In the first year, students are required to attend 90% of all classes in order to be considered for entry into the second year. Entry into Year 2 is also subject to students completing and passing Course modules in Year 1. In Year 1, students will be given the option of participating in a jazz exam.

The musical score includes arrangements of popular and folk music from Latin America, music by tango master Astor Piazzola, and new music by Carlos Sanches-Gutierrez and Osvaldo Golijow. Georgina Corbo portrays the three heroines, performing in both Spanish and English.
