Learn the secrets of Italian cooking from a master. Follow a Master Chef From North to South, From Simplicity to Grandeur — to the very Soul of Italian Cuisine Since his childhood days in the soft and beckoning hills of Abruzzo, when the other boys were tending sheep or playing soccer, Angelo Chiavaroli has had just one passion — to be not only a master chef, but legendary chef. Angelo has devoted his life to becoming “Lo Chef del Buongusto,” or “the Chef of Good Taste,” as the Italian media has dubbed him. Now renowned Master Chef Chiavaroli will devote his time and expertise to you. At the top of a beautiful and tiny hill town in the countryside of Abruzzo, a region known to all Italians as the true gourmet capitol of Italy, Master Chef Angelo Chiavaroli has created Hotel Montinope, his own four star hotel — a sanctuary dedicated to the culinary arts. Here the great chefs, connoisseurs, and sommeliers of Europe come to admire and to learn from Angelo, and here you are invited to do the same. At the luxury hotel restaurant Pettirosso, with its windows opening on long pastoral views framed by mountains and sea, the genial Master Chef will take you under his wing and introduce you to a rarefied Italian experience that outsiders seldom see.

Welcome!
The Story Behind DeAngelo's
Vincent DeAngelo grew up in New York's Italian neighborhoods. His father was a chef and his mother carried on the tradition of Italian cooking at home.
Vincent is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, the oldest and finest culinary arts school in the country. While still on the east coast he worked at the the famous Rainbow Room and the Helmsley Place Hotel.
Vincent came to California and worked as a chef at Palermo's in San Jose and Palo Alto. He was the first person to work there that had not been born and raised in Italy. He also created his award winning dishes at Valerano's in Los Gatos. We are very fortunate to have him here in Merced, a place he feels at home where he can carry on the excitement of robust foods and fine dining.
We only use the finest and freshest ingredients available for our dishes. Fresh fish and seafood is flown from all over the country; Mussels from the East Coast, Clams from the Pacific Northwest, Sea Bass from Chilean waters, and Hawaiian Swordfish when available.
We take advantage of the abundance of fresh local produce when in season. Fresh summer tomatoes from Rogina Farms and baby lettuce and radicchio from Marchini and Son, just to name a few.

review A very popular Knightsbridge restaurant, Verbanella was packed at 6pm with the early theatre crowd. Situated over three floors, its view over Beauchamp Place offers a delight for fashion lovers to see the rich and famous being photographed in this renowned street. T his restaurant is one of the few in London to offer Spaghettini with Fresh Clams (£8.50) which we ordered. The spaghettini was beautifully flavoured and served al dente. We also ordered Wild Mushrooms All' Arrabbiata (£8.50), Porcini mushrooms in hot chilli and tomato sauce - large and filling! B ecause of variety of dishes, choosing the main course put us in a quandary, especially since , as an option , there is a set daily menu of three starters, three main courses and desserts. We eventually opted for Halibut Fillets Del Pescatore (£14.50) and Fresh Seabass Alla Griglia (£19.00). The Halibut came with clams in a fish sauce, served with saute' potatoes and baked in the oven. A meal for big eaters! The Seabass was rich in flavour and had that unique oven roasted taste that only Italians seem to know how to achieve. To accompany the meal we chose Chardonnay Delle Langhe (£16.50), a fruity full bodied Italian white wine. F or dessert I sampled the Mille Feuille (£4.00), a puff pastry in layers of Chantilly cream . My colleague chose the Chocolate Mousse with fresh raspberries (£4.00), which was delightful.
