The trains stop here to get water for passengers, fuel for the locomotives and for a quick check and repair of any technical problems such as failed air-conditioning, lighting systems and so on. Participants of Journalism Training Workshop for Women along with Mr. Fazal Qureshi, Chief Editor PPI However for all the development that has taken place here, Khanewal still remains a city with conservative environment, specially for the women. They are mostly confined to their homes and use veils when coming out. But the educated women those working in colleges and hospitals and even those sitting at home are smart, bold, enlightened and motivated no less than girls in bigger cities like Karachi and Lahore. But in their existing social environment, despite being highly educated, intelligent and skilled, they are unable to play their due role in national affairs.
