If you test at a center located in Kentucky a copy of your scores will automatically be sent to the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. The first digit of the "Session/Test Code" indicates the session during which the test is offered in the 2002-2003 testing year. There are no session numbers for the CBT tests, which are given by appointment, as explained in Praxis I Computer-Based Testing The computer-based tests are offered by appointment through a national network of Prometric TM Testing Centers (many Prometric Testing Centers are located inside Sylvan Learning Centers), selected institutional sites, and ETS Field Service Offices. An Evaluation of the Kentucky Education Reform Act

The Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) caused drastic changes in the way education is provided in Kentucky. Because KERA attempted to equalize funding and dramatically alter the curriculum and governance of schools, it is appropriate to see how effective the reforms have been in affecting spending and educational outcomes. Comparisons of measures before and after KERA show that it has equalized funding among school districts, with some districts gaining substantially in their funding of students. Teacher salaries and student/teacher ratios have also improved relative to national averages since the introduction of KERA. Educational outcomes have not improved, however. There has been no appreciable gain in test scores or graduation rates in Kentucky relative to other states, and there is no evidence that KERA has increased college attendance rates of Kentucky high school graduates. LOCATION: Unless otherwise specified, the programs in this brochure will be presented at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry, Preston Street and Muhammad Ali Blvd. (501 S. Preston St.), Louisville, KY 40292 (see campus map). Some courses will be held elsewhere, so please check the course description for the exact program location. PAYMENT: Send a completed form which may be found in the back of the catalog along with a check (Master Card or Visa may also be used) made payable to the University of Louisville, and mailed to : Continuing Education, Room 231, School of Dentistry, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY 40202-1701. The registration form may be duplicated if necessary. PARKING NEAR HSC CAMPUS: On weekdays pay parking is available in the Visitor's Parking Lot immediately south of the School on Preston Street, the U of L Hospital Parking Garage on Jackson and Madison St., East of ULSD or the Alliant Parking Garage, Preston and Gray Street, one block south of ULSD. On weekends, free parking is available in the university lot on Preston and Abraham Flexnor Way, southwest of the school. (See campus maps for other lot locations.) HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS: Participants are responsible for making their own hotel reservations but the CE office would be happy to provide assistance. Inform the hotel you are with the U of L group when making a reservation because you may qualify for a reduced corporate rate.

F or more than a decade, Michael Card has been known as Christian music's resident biblical scholar. The singer, songwriter and author holds a master's degree in biblical studies from Western (1980). Card began his recording career in 1981 with First Light. He has been able to blend carefully-drawn insights from the Bible with deftly-crafted melodies, resulting in more than 15 critically-acclaimed albums and nearly two million in sales, including a gold-certified lullaby album, Sleep Sound in Jesus. He has also received recognition from his peers with five Gospel Music Association Dove Awards: Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year (El Shaddai), Children's Album of the Year (Come to the Cradle), and two for Praise and Worship Album of the Year (The Final Word and Coram Deo). Card's talents were recognized by Shirley Dobson of Focus on the Family when she commissioned him to write the theme song for the 1993 National Day of Prayer, Heal Our Land. As an author, Card has been nominated for a C.S. Lewis Children's Book Award (Sleep Sound in Jesus) and is a three-time finalist for the Evangelical Press Association Gold Medallion Award (Sleep Sound in Jesus, Immanuel: Reflections on the Life of Christ and Close Your Eyes So You Can See). He is also highly regarded as a Bible teacher and has written a commentary on the Gospel of John titled The Parable of Joy. Card, who lives in Franklin, Tenn., is married to Susan Kepley Card, a 1981 WKU graduate. They have four children.
