MATH 070 Finite Mathematics Description: Mathematics of finance, including simple and compound interest, present and future value of ordinary annuities, sinking funds, and amortization schedules. Matrices, linear systems and linear programming. Combinatorics and elementary probability theory .Offered every semester. Prereq: Three years of college preparatory mathematics or MATH 020. Text: College Mathematics with Technology, First Edition, by Barnett and Ziegler Note Well: Please inform all MATH 070 students that the same text is used for both MATH 070 and MATH 071. Calculators: TI-83 graphing calculator (or equivalent) is required. All business students buying a calculator for the first time should buy the TI-83. Students who already own a TI-85 or TI-86 do not have to replace it with the TI-83. Students owning any other calculator can use it at their discretion, but the instructor is not expected to provide any support for other calculators.
