http://www.cityoftaylor.com/history/default.htm
While the City of Taylor is 34 years old, the community has a rich heritage that dates back to the 1800's. The first registered property owner was Peter Coan, who purchased an 80-acre parcel from the United States government in 1830. Originally, Taylor was part of Ecorse Township, but area residents found that they lived too far away to participate in the civic affairs and functions of the township. Because of this, the residents petitioned to form a separate community. The petition was granted in 1847 and the new community was named Taylor Township, in honor of General Zachary Taylor, an American hero in the Mexican War who would go on to become President of the United States. Largely an agricultural community, Taylor Township grew steadily over the years, particularly after the opening of the Ford Rouge Plant. Finally, in May of 1968, Taylor Township residents voted to adopt the charter which incorporated the City of Taylor. The most recent years of Taylor's history have been characterized by development and improvement. No longer agricultural, the community boasts comfortable neighborhoods, great schools, a variety of shopping opportunities and several industrial parks. In fact, Taylor is experiencing a residential and commercial building boom, of sorts. Taylor residents can live, work and shop, all within a convenient 24 square miles.

Sign Codes- EXPOSED! The truth behind the mystery.
The Department of Transportation has been lying and is deeply involved in covert military operations nationwide. "Highly reflective" markers of different variety began appearing on the backs of road signs across America with the explanation forwarded that the D.O.T. were "dating" road signs for sinage replacement and warranty purposes. "Free Indeed Research" has challenged this claim and has proven these road sign dating operations a "FAKE"! These markers are in reality, universal military directional code devices, *TACMARS* , verified by military personnel who have seen them being used by multi-national U.N. "PEACEKEEPERS" , to target vital sites, facilities and resources to be confiscated and used during a National Emergency. More startling information has been disclosed that the "fronts" of the road signs contain embedded codes as well and that our entire sign system has been cleverly altered and is shifting from a word based system to a "European" style complex of pictorials, images, color codes, and a variety of "ARROW" configurations! The following photos are samples of the codings deciphered by researchers through over 4 years of painstaking study of the markers and their configurations, target sites, and photo analysis. Our conclusive report of this phenomenon appears to be the final stages of a complex military plan called

Native American History in Michigan: Introduction
Native Americans lived in what is now called Washtenaw County long before the first white person entered Michigan. In fact, the name Washtenaw comes from the Chippewa words waushte and nong, which together mean "the land beyond." It is impossible to map the locations of Native American tribes because they overlapped each other so much. Several tribes lived in Michigan and surrounding areas: the tribes known as the "three fires," the Pottawatomie, Ottawa, and Chippewa (also known as the Ojibwe); smaller tribes like the Sauk, the Foxes, and the Mascoutens; and the Iroquois nations who had moved west into Michigan when whites occupied New York and Pennsylvania. We can not really know what native life was like before the arrival of Europeans. Native Americans left no written record and few images that told about their lives, and very few whites spoke native languages. But we can know a few things about Native American life before contact with Europeans. For the most part, Native Americans in this area lived by hunting and gathering. They hunted and fished, and ate moose, caribou, dear, bear, and small game like rabbits, squirrels, and fish. Some tribes grew rice, squash, and corn. They wore clothing made from the skins of the animals they ate, and used tools made of bone, sinew, and other animal parts, and their homes were made of mud and bark. With the exception of the Chippewa, Native Americans in this area also farmed corn, squash, and rice.

Why the program is exceptional
The DoDEA Electronic School (DES) uses computer conferencing, via Lotus Notes/Domino, to deliver distributed learning courses to students on military installations in the United States and around the world. Students in the program can do their work at any time and in any place where they have access to the Internet or Lotus Notes. Currently, most of the contact between the instructors and the students is asynchronous; however, the DES is in the process of expanding its synchronous component through the use of technologies such as AOL, ICQ, and, eventually, SameTime and/or LearningSpace Live. Features
  • Ten courses and several activities offered to students worldwide through asynchronous computer conferencing.
  • A "resource-based classroom" environment in which students use standard materials but submit work and receive feedback via the computer.
  • A Web site where parents can look at student work.

The grants, which are funded by a federal program, support Michigan’s participation in the U.S. Department of Energy Clean Cities program. The Clean Cities Program promotes voluntary alternative fuel use and infrastructure development to help the U.S. achieve energy security and improved air quality with clean burning, domestically produced alternative fuels. “These grants will encourage school and municipal fleet owners to purchase domestically produced biodiesel fuel and thus accelerate the market demand for this fuel throughout Michigan,” Hollister said.
