Transfer of Credits from Other Institutions
Saint Paul College will review requests for transfer of credit from individuals who have completed coursework from other accredited post-secondary institutions. The number of credits transferred to Saint Paul College is dependent upon the specific requirements of each program or degree offered at Saint Paul College. Transfer credits accepted will appear on the Saint Paul College transcript and can be used to satisfy the program graduation requirements but will not be used to calculate the grade point average. To be eligible for a degree, diploma or certificate, a student must earn at least one-third of the program requirements at Saint Paul College. The requirements may be decreased to 12 credits with transfer credits from another Minnesota State Colleges and Universities institution or the University of Minnesota.
Students also may be eligible to transfer credit to Saint Paul College through the following: CLEP (College Level Examination Program) is a national program of credit-by-examination that offers the opportunity to obtain recognition for college-level achievement. There are both General Exams (English Composition, Humanities, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences/History) and Subject Exams in areas such as Statistics or Sociology. General Exams measure achievement in core, general or liberal education requirements. Subject Exams measure achievement in specific college courses and can be used to grant exemption from course requirements. Credits accepted are based on American Council on Education recommendation.

    Military resisters and conscientious objection
November/December 2002 During the first Gulf War several GIs took a very public stand in refusing to be sent overseas in what they viewed as a war for control of oil, not to defend their country. They took a stand dictated by their consciences, and received a lot of public support, as well as punishment from the military. For those who are considering conscientious objection, there are many longstanding organizations which can provide assistance and counseling. Here we feature information on the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors ( www.objector.org The Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors supports and promotes individual and collective resistance to war and preparations for war. While most of us are teaching our kids to avoid violence, the US military is extolling the virtues of war. Junior ROTC programs are sprouting like weeds around the country - they're now in over 2800 high schools. The draft ended and the military had to get sneakier - along with JROTC we now have the poverty draft. The Pentagon spends $2 billion on recruiting. They entice youth into the military with promises of college and job training: sounds like a great way out. Eventually, young people learn the truth - instead of being caught in drive-bys, they're doing fly-bys. In 1968 we joined together to protest killing and war. We mobilized successfully against the Vietnam War, but haven't been able to free our government from its militaristic ways. The Gulf War, the poverty draft, Junior ROTC, hazing, racism, sexual harassment and abuse are all dangers of an unchallenged military. It's time again to act.

Because of its large size and diverse geography, the Camp is used for military training activities by Army and Air National Guard units from across the U.S. It is also used by active duty forces as well as units from Canada, Great Britain, Norway, and the Netherlands. Naturally, because of its location in Minnesota, the camp specializes in winter warfare training.
Students were briefed on the mission of the Minnesota Army and Air National Guard by Shields. The Guard has both full- and part-time officers. The Minnesota National Guard, like other state National Guards, has a dual state and federal mission.
The final stop of the day was the Minnesota National Guard Military History Museum. The museum features a history of military uniforms, a history of military rifles, and a section on military awards and medals. The outdoor display is extensive and includes a variety of military equipment such as aircraft, tanks, military vehicles, and artillery pieces.

by Jennifer Sieracki My name is Jennifer Sieracki and I have lived at Plattsburgh AFB, NY, Fairchild AFB, WA, Pease AFB, NH, Portales, NM, New Richmond, WI, Eau Claire, WI and I currently live in Minneapolis, MN where I attend the University of Minnesota. Throughout my travels I have attended two elementary schools, one middle school, one junior high, two high schools, and three universities despite the fact that I am only a sophomore. Like many other military brats, I also have no place to call home. My civilian friends always laughed at me when we went on school trips because I was apt to call the hotel that we were staying at 'home.' They never understood that where I lay my head is home. However, I once did consider New Hampshire to be my home. I lived there for six years, and when they announced that they were closing the base I was heartbroken. I insisted that New Hampshire was my home, though, up until we went back to visit a few years ago. A brewery/restaurant now stands where my house once was. The other homes that are left standing have been broken into and vandalized. It's like walking through a ghost town. Only one of my friends remains in the surrounding community. So now, I too search for home. The town I graduated from school in is not home. Many of my peers let me know that I was not like them. I often slipped between New England, southern, and no accent when talking. This led me to be picked-on throughout my adolescense. Minneapolis is definitely not home. The apartment I live in is worse than any military housing I've ever been to.
