Work Plan for 2001-2002
Introduction: The Missouri Rural Opportunities Council (MoROC) was formally organized in November 1992 as Missouri's official state rural development council (SRDC). As a result of an extremely innovative federal initiative, MoROC has joined numerous other SRDCs and the National Rural Development Council to comprise the National Rural Development Partnership (NRDP).
Overall, the NRDP's mission is to improve the employment opportunities, incomes, and well-being of rural Americans by strengthening their capacity to compete in the global economy. Through individual SRDCs such as MoROC, the capacity of rural Americans can be expanded to achieve this mission.
SRDCs are charged with four major tasks:
  • Serve as a catalyst for cooperation among partner members Involve the private sector in public/private sector collaboration Affect a broad range of rural life and people by sharing the benefits of rural development Undertake a comprehensive, long-term, strategic approach to rural development

MISSOURI PROGRAM PERFORMANCE, EVALUATION REPORTING SYSTEM MONTHLY STATISTICAL REPORTS DIRECTIONS Introduction The Monthly Statistical Report collects quantitative data about extension activities. Monthly contact and time data are entered by each staff member using the Monthly Statistical Report (MSR) application All staff (campus and off-campus specialists, educational assistants and administrators), whose extension appointment is greater than or equal to 25 percent, are required to report 100 percent of their extension appointment time. Total time and contacts should be reported for all extension activities, including leave and holidays. Staff are encouraged to report on a monthly basis. Reporting the sum of hours and contacts for the month will reduce the time required for reporting. Data will be stored in a central database. Reports of contact information at the county, region and state levels will be available to all staff via the World Wide Web. Personnel reports, with password protection, will be available to UO/E regional directors and administration. Requests for special reports may be sent to Cindy Martin, Coordinator, Extension Information Systems. System Requirements Application Overview (For specific instructions, see the "Step-by-Step Instructions" section below.)

When a donor is asked why she contributes time, money, resources and expertise to the College of Engineering the answer often is, because it makes me feel good. Is it really that simple? Yes, it's really that simple. Supporting that good feeling is the knowledge that a donor can make a difference in the education of rising students, faculty research, laboratory updating, building renovations, and much more. Donors invest in today, tomorrow and the future.
Here are a few more reasons why donors invest in the College of Engineering:
Many alumni want to pay back the College for the excellent education they received as students. They also want students at MU today to enjoy the camaraderie and share the experiences they shared as students. Through donor gifts students will continue to enjoy being a part of the ever growing family of engineers. Donors who have sons, daughters, relatives or friends who took great pride in their Mizzou educational experience create memorials to honor the accomplishments of that person. Additionally, donors may wish to leave their own legacy by endowing a Chair or making a bequest.
