Dear Colleague: Below you will find a position description for a human development faculty position in Human Environmental Sciences with the University of Missouri Outreach and Extension. We live and work in an interesting and challenging time. On the one hand, we have vast new information technology tools that allow us to deliver education and information in new and creative ways. On the other hand, we continue to face substantial human problems associated with poverty and lack of educational opportunities. We are committed to creating educational programs to address the fundamental issues confronting children and families, including hunger, economic stability, adequate housing and healthy development. We are interested in developing programs that meet the needs of all Missouri families and are especially committed to working with Black, Hispanic, Asian, and Native American families that have been typically underserved. In order to effectively educate family members, we use community-based program strategies that involve family members in the design and development of educational activities, while at the same time utilize the latest information technology tools to extend our educational resources.
