History of Buryatia (Ar Mongol)
The Mongolian Ancestral Homeland
The Buryats are a Mongolian people numbering approximately 252,000 (1995 estimate of Buryats in Buryat republic) whose lands are located north of the Russian-Mongolian border near Lake Baikal. Buryatia lies within an area long contested by Russia, China, and (before 1945) Japan. Thus, historically and today, Buryatia has precariously existed amid the competing spheres of influence of more powerful neighbors. In the post-Soviet era, Buryatia has safeguarded its interests by maintaining good relations with Russia, of which it is a constituent part, and by establishing economic and political ties with independent Mongolia and China (through China's "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region"). Another avenue by which Buryats attempt to mitigate Moscow's control is by cultivating links with a wider Mongolian cultural sphere. It should also be noted that Buryat Mongols do not only live in Buryatia, but also are significant minorities in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia as well. Mongolia's Dornod, Hentii, Selenge, Tuv, Bulgan, and Huvsgul Aimags, most of which border on Buryatia or Chita Oblast, have significant Buryat Mongol populations. Today many Mongolian Buryats hold important positions in government, business, and in the scholarly community. In Inner Mongolia the Hulun Buir region bordering Dornod Aimag also has a Buryat group called the Shinheeni Buryats, and a Mongolian group called the Dagur, who had fled Buryat lands after they fell under control of the Russians. This article, however, will focus mainly on the Buryat Mongols living within today's Russian Federation.

AN ANCIENT PERIOD OF HISTORY
The birth of Mongols
There are many traces of an ancient human race in the territory of Mongolia. These are attested to by the archaeological discovery in the white cave of Bayanlig and stone weapon found in the Uran Khairkhan hill of Baa-tsagan somon Bayankhongor aimag. According to these discoveries, it is possible to say that the human race were living in the territory of Mongolia almost 700 thousand years ago.
There is a hypothesis that Mongolia is a cradle where the first human race were living. It is in corroboration of proof. It is certain that there was an uninterrupted settlement. This assumption is based on the outward appearances of Mongols. Mongols had straight black hair, with broad foreheads, small thick eye lash, short-nose, prominent cheek bones, burly chests, narrow waists and the thick set features of the Mongoloid race. They were the ancestors of the present Mongol race. Such type of people are a product of the nature and the climate of Mongolia over the course of many thousands of years. The perfection of the labour produced conscious people of the present day almost 40.000 years ago. At that period they used to share labour
tools and their hunting catches, lived a nomadic lifestyle, engaged in animal husbandry and produced bronze and iron weapons. As this material wealth increased Clan leaders and dominant figures possessed them and became powerful. This was the origin of private

About Ukraine Ukraine Ukrainian History Cultural Differences Ukrainian People Ukrainian Holidays Religion ... Study Russian On-line Ukrainian independence is three years old, but it has an ancient history.
The first state to spring up within the boundaries of the present Ukraine was Kyivska Rus (the 9 th century). In fact, Kyiv Grand Princes ruled over vast territories from Baltica to the Black sea and Kuban and from Zakarpatya to the Volga. Kyivska Rus included Kyiv, Novgorod, Smolensk and later Moscow, which was founded by Kievities. This was a period of power and glory. In 988 Prince Volodymyr introduced Christianity as the official state religion. The christening of Kyivska Rus took place in Kyiv on Dnipro river. Two monks settled in the caves under Kyiv hills in the 11 th century. Soon a cave monastery sprang up there. Now it is known in the whole world as Kiyevo-Pecherska lavra. Under Volodimir’s successor Yaroslav the Wise (1019-1054) Kyiv Rus’ rose to the peak of its development becoming one of the major political powers in Europe. Genoese Fortress in the town of Sudak Kiev, as the capital of Kyivska Rus, was one of the richest and most developed cities of Europe where the arts flourished.

This book review is from Volume XXXVI of the Canadian Journal of History/Annales canadiennes d'histoire The Armenian People from Ancient to Modern Times , Volume I, The Dynastic Periods: From Antiquity to the Fourteenth Century , edited by Richard Hovannisian. New York, St. Martin's Press, 1997. xii, 372 pp. $49.95 U.S. The Armenian People from Ancient to Modern Times , Volume II, Foreign Dominion to Statehood: The Fifteenth Century to the Twentieth Century , edited by Richard Hovannisian. New York, St. Martin's Press, 1997. xii, 493 pp. $49.95 U.S. The history of the Armenian state and people spans over three thousand years and six continents. The Armenian homeland is located on the Armenian plateau, central and eastern Anatolia and southwestern Caucasiathe highlands which dominate the lowlands of Greater Syria and Mesopotamia to the south. The present Armenian Republic, which consists of perhaps a tenth of historic Armenia, is located in the South Caucasus on the eastern end of the historic "Armenian" plateau. The Armenian diaspora, which was created in stages following major invasions and devastations of the homeland, has grown to include colonies on the five major continents and now Australia. Interestingly, there are now more Armenians in the diaspora than in the Armenian Republic, which makes their history a world-wide phenomenon. The Armenians lived at the crossroads of the ancient world, straddling the trade routes from China, Persia, India, and Arabia to and from Russia and Europe. Those who dominated the Armenian plateau were in a position to control these lucrative trade routes, to utilize the fertile valleys which stretch chiefly on the east-west axis, and to dominate the lowlands to the south. Accordingly, Armenia has been an area of perpetual war and its history determined by international circumstances.

Welcome to The Realm of The Mongols!
Written and maintained by Per Inge Oestmoen, Norway
The pages available here are all dedicated to the
philosophical and spiritual legacy of the Old Mongols,
and to the memory of Chingis Khan.
The Mongolian Message
These pages have been created with the single purpose of providing information on a phenomenon whose nature and role in world history has largely been obfuscated and misrepresented. I speak about the history of the Mongol Empire, beginning from the fateful incident in the year 1206, when the Founder and Father of the Mongol nation, Temuchin, who took the name Chingis Khan, emerged as the "leader of all people living in felt tents." His investiture as supreme leader of the Mongols was to lay the groundwork for a profound change in the direction of world history. E-mail: pioe@powertech.no

Rediscovering the Ancient Aramaic Scriptures
Welcome to my website on the Internet. For the last seven years I've been translating the Ancient Aramaic Scriptures into English. I've posted the Disciples New Testament for everyone to read. My translation is based on the Ancient Church of the East Bible, which was the first one recorded and preserved intact since the Apostolic Age. Although the religious establishment maintains that the New Testament was recorded first in Greek, my translation proves that the entire Scriptures were recorded first in the language they were conceived, the language Jesus Christ spoke, the Ancient Aramaic. All it takes is an unbiased reading of my translation to realize this. There are also extensive translator notes to prove this. Thousands of passages have been clarified. Major concepts have been restored for the first time. I'm translating the Old Testament now. Aramaic Bible Documentary Filmmaking Ashurai Civilization September 11 ... E-Mail Revelation 4:6-8: And before his throne a sea of glass that resembles crystal and in the balance of the throne and around it and before it, four life forms, full of eyes in front and back of them. And the first life form resembles a lion and the second life form resembles a calf and the third life form has a face like a human being and the fourth life form resembles a flying eagle. And all four life forms, every one of them, have six wings around themselves and from inside, full of eyes, and they have no rest day and night from saying, "Holy, holy, holy, the Lord God, Supreme over all. He who Becomes and He who Is and He who Comes."
