Region III Federal Technical Assistance Providers Comprehensive Centers What they do: The Centers are designed to serve each of the federally-funded programs under the Improving America's Schools Act (IASA). The Centers work primarily with states, local education agencies (LEA's), tribes, schools, and other recipients of funds under the IASA. The Adaptive Technology Center for New Jersey Colleges at The College of New Jersey is funded by the NJ Commission on Higher Education to connect college students who have disabilities with appropriate technology tools. Specialized software, hardware, and assistive devices can assist college students with the tasks of notetaking, reading, writing papers, taking exams, accessing information on the internet, using email, and communicating with faculty. The Adaptive Tech Center provides information and training on these technology tools and operates a lending program for all colleges and universities in New Jersey.
