    For faculty members at Shipley, there are many opportunities to experience professional development and enrichment.
    Mentoring Program Teachers new to Shipley are matched with a mentor in their own division. The function of the mentor is to introduce the faculty member to Shipley culture, answer questions specific to the daily operations of the school, and act as a friend. Anyone interested in becoming a mentor should contact the head(s) of the mentor committee. MCRC The Multicultural Resource Center, located at Baldwin School, is a consortium of twenty local independent schools. Shipley acts as one of eight Board schools. Approximately four times each year, the committee offers programs directed at diversity issues. The programs are open to faculty and students and the number of participants is usually limited. Notices are sent out to all faculty members. The charge to participate is assumed by Shipley. Montgomery County Intermediate Unit The MCIU, located in Norristown, offers workshops in all areas, many free of charge. Each division should have a printed explanation of the workshops offered at various times of the year.

    This is a live on-site participation class in a computer-equipped classroom at IIT's Rice Campus in Wheaton, Illinois over one to three days (9am-noon, 1pm-5pm); the course is frequently offered specifically for a company or organization. The next offering of this course is a two-day course. Prerequisites: Knowledge of how to use a personal computer with a Graphical User Interface (i.e. Windows or Macintosh); experience using the World Wide Web.
