R) and Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech). Leveraging on each other’s strengths to develop an advanced packaging technology based on LTCC, the S m PRIMA consortium - acronym for Substrate and Micro-Packaging Research for Industry and Military Applications - hopes to give Singapore the competitive advantage in miniaturised digital electronics and wireless communication. Said Dr Chew Siou Teck, Chief Principal Investigator for the consortium and Head of DSO’s Centre for Advanced Electronics and Signal Processing: “Using the LTCC, we can design and produce very high frequency circuit boards that allow resistors, capacitors and inductors to be densely embedded into its inner layers. This will drastically reduce the size of the circuit boards.”  Some potential applications of this advanced packaging technology include automotive anti-collision systems and next generation high frequency wireless communication systems.
