Note: Don't forget the products on this site! But... I'm silly enough to put getting what you need into your hands over selling mine...these sites and their products have NOT been reviewed. I'm too busy surfing! Shop carefully! Within categories they're listed alphabetically. There are many other products to be found in bookstores and educational materials catalogs. You can search bookstores' websites pretty easily and you'll find a hosts of books and resources. Many of them have return options so you can examine them (but be sure to ask!). Remember two things: if it sounds too good to be true.... it probably is, and a program is *only* as good as the teacher and the teaching circumstances.

There are three activities for students to gain experience: sound to letter, sound to picture and sound to word.
Phonemes, pictures and words are displayed and followed by a voice sounding them. Students are then asked to repeat what they hear and are tested by being asked to click on pictures or letters. They are tested until they get it right. As an incentive for learners to get it right and keep at it, there is a choice of three games when a section is completed. These are great fun for kids and are just right to keep them moti-
vated. Simple to use student records let you know how your students are doing and there are many options available to teachers wishing to change specific parameters in the phonemic tests. Students will not get bored of Phonics Mastery. Fair Voyage CD

    Project Description
To develop an interactive educational utility designed to aid severe learning disabled middle school students. The game will focus on reading comprehension using techniques such as phonics and word attack skills. A game in which the player is looking for friends, in the imaginary world, by finding notes left for them. The notes will provide clues as to where to go, in the game world, next. Many games and tools will be available to the player when reading a note. For example, when the user encounters a word they do not know they can click on the word and hear a phonetic break down of the word and a complete pronunciation. The games will then test the user's comprehension of the note. When the user finds his/her friends the game will present an award screen.
