Rhode Island Department of Human Services Notice of
Proposed Adoption of Rules, Regulations,
Policies, Procedures, and Other Materials
Relating to the Administration of
the Following Program(s): In accordance with Title 42, Chapter 35, of the General Laws of the State of Rhode Island, notice is hereby given that the Department of Human Services (DHS) proposes to adopt rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and other materials relating to the following program(s): Medical Assistance Program
2) increase the total amount of payments which may be made from Pool D to $73 million annually for federal fiscal year 2002 and $80 million annually commencing in federal fiscal years thereafter;
4) increase the total amount of payments which may be made from Pool I from $2.2 million to $2.4 million annually; and
5) revise the order of abatement of pools in the event of insufficient federal funding.
FISCAL IMPACT: The Department estimates that there will be an increase of $893,796 in the aggregate expenditures by the Rhode Island Medical Assistance Program for disproportionate share hospital payments for federal fiscal year 2002 and an increase of $7,951,069 in the aggregate expenditures by the Rhode Island Medical Assistance Program for disproportionate share hospital payments for federal fiscal year 2003. | |
