http://darcy.tamu.edu/selic/main.htm
Special Education Leadership in Interagency Collaboration (SELIC) Graduates will be prepared as leaders in joint programming with schools and community-based services. Graduates will be coached and mentored in program evaluation, field research, school administration, training and supervision, university teaching, conference presenting and grant writing. The intensive summer “Principalship” experience from the Educational Administration Department and a 9 credit hour internship provide opportunities for skill application. This cross-Department program offers students the skills of twelve faculty members from two departments, plus a field coordinator who is well connected at district and state levels. Evening courses permit students to enroll in the SELIC program on a part-time basis. However, in order to meet residency requirements, at some point in the program students must enroll for two consecutive semesters of 9 credit hours each. The SELIC program will require 3 to 4 years of full-time enrollment for completion of all course work, competencies, and dissertation. Part-time students will need additional time. Stipends of $750 per course are offered on a competitive basis, from a federal Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) grant, which ends after the year 2002-03.
